Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the Yoga 710's touchscreen, light weight, ease of use, and SSD, with many praising its performance and design. However, customers are negative about the keyboard quality, particularly the placement and size of the right shift key, and some experienced excessive fan noise. The battery life and price also received positive feedback. While some appreciated the dedicated graphics card, others found the keyboard layout unconventional.

Great Compact Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The thing that stood out to me about this laptop was the IPS LCD display and its size. This laptop is about the size of a 14" laptop with it's edge to edge display and very thin for the specs that is has. The keyboard feels great to type on, just wish it had a larger Shift button on the right side (Lenovo compromised the size of the Shift key in order to fit a larger Up arrow key). In my opinion the display is on par with Dells XPS laptops, it definitely stood out among the other laptops on the showroom floor, including Samsung which is known for their displays. The hard drive is a SSD but a M.2 type instead of a standard SATA..I am overal very satisfied with the build quality and performance of this laptop. I would say it's on par with Apple's similar offerings at a much more reasonable price.

Great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great display, viewing angles. Solid quick performance, very good for average user. Strong, rigid aluminum frame. SSD is fantastic!!! Good touch pad. Like the adjustable back light key board that can be turned off if not needed. Only con would be the fan can run at times but not overly annoying as it does shut off and stay off most of the time. I would not hesitate to buy this again especially at the ~ $600 price range. Bought mine open box certified for $640 in perfect condition.

On the Fence
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only complaint is the right hand shift key. It is very inconvenient for college students and for people who type a lot. I find myself constantly hitting the stupid pageup key because I am used to the enter key being there. So it cuts down on my typing time when writing papers. I guess I could try and get used to it but unsure if I want to. BestBuy has said they have got complaints about this and people have took laptops back due to this. I went down there yesterday to see if they could somehow program the shift key to the pgup key, but they do not know how. So I have until Jan to bring it back and get refund of exchange. I am on the fence about this. Do no understand why the right shift key is so dang far and little. It is way more important than the pgup key. Doesn't make sense to me and others I spoke with. Definitely a deal breaker. Honestly, I didn't take it back right then and there because I need it for school everyday and can't be without a laptop. I will probably take it back in December after this semester. Disappointed...

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 710-15. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

The best laptop I've ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My overall review is that this is an excellent laptop. I'll run down the things I liked, and a few things I have some problems with. Like: 1. Lightweight. It has a 15.6in screen, yet is weighs only about 4lbs. That's a tough combination of screen to weight ratio to find 2. Fast. This is the first SSD based laptop I've owned, and the speed difference is stunning to me. Everything is faster, application launching, web surfing, boot up, and even shutdown. 3. Size. It's a 15.6in screen, yet if feels like the old 14in I use to own, and is smaller then my old 15.6in ASUS. 4. Solid. One of the reasons I got a new laptop was because the hinge on my screen split open. It was a plastic frame with metal backing. . The frame on this one is aluminium and the screen is set into the frame. So when you move the lid you are grabbing aluminum, not plastic, it will eliminate the problem I encountered with my ASUS. The base is also solid, feels like a slab, a lightweight slab that is. 5. Bright screen. The screen is exceptionally bright, on my old ASUS I had to have it turned all the way up to get it bright enough. 6. Battery: At least for now, and this can change quickly, it's giving me about 6 hours of continuous use, with the screen very bright. I'm sure I could lengthen that significantly if I turned on power saving. Do not like: 1. The charger cord. This is one area the government needs to just stay out of. Power cords just keep getting shorter and shorter. If I want to veg on the couch for hours I have to eventually plug it in, and it's impossible to do now, the cord on my old ASUS was longer and more usable 2. Tablet mode. My ASUS was amazing in this area, if you folded the screen into a tablet it was completely flat and seemed like a single unit, a heavy thick unit, but it felt like a tablet. The Yoga doesn't really flatten out like that, it's feels like its flexing in tablet mode. Not ideal, but for me not a problem because I don't use it like that much at all. 3. Keyboard. Overall I like the keyboard, its backlight is good, the feel is nice, the keys are larger which I like. But...the right Shift key is tooooo far to the right. If you're a touch typist it's shear misery, I'm always hitting the up arrow key. I think the disregard for this was because the younger folks don't really touch type anymore, they kind of have a modified hunt and peck method they use. The above complaints are minor though, I love this thing.

Becoming One with Yoga
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was not love at first use. I railed at the machine for the first week, until I realized that most of the follies and foibles I had tweeking and optimizing the Yoga to my specs was software and ISP related. The hardware and construction is solid and of good quality. One problem I have though with the construction is the power button. I seem to have to press it a few times before I hit the sweet spot. A word of advice to the computer novice...browsers support audio/video and speed differently. What works on one browser may not work on another. I have three browsers at my disposal and have learned what each can and cannot handle. One last tip - take advantage of all the helpful features of the Lenovo Companion software, and avoid phone support if possible, and check for updates on a regular basis. I hope Yoga and I have a long ans fruitful relationship.

Funky Machine and experience.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer was disappointing when I found out that the right "Shift Key" is half the size of any other computer I have ever had (since the 1970's). Then the on/off toggle switch broke within 2-years of purchase, and I was told by Best Buy they could fix it after I turned it over to them for 60 days for a repair several states away. I have used a very thin crochet hook to turn the machine on from the left side pin hold situated next to the headphone plug. Otherwise, the machine was fine ...just wish it had a 10 key.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Love the laptop. I use it mostly for media consumption and school work. My only gripe is the power button is kinda hard 2 to press. Other than that I've been loving this laptop. Its touch screen is pretty precise and definitely useable. I have had this laptop for a few months now and I have been enjoying it.

great 2 in 1, has some software issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with this purchase as it fulfils the requirements I was looking for. With that said, I will point out that upon first boot (and subsequent) the USB ports would not recognize my USB 3.0 thumb drive. I went through all of the updates and to my surprise not only did the USB 3.0 continue not to work but after the Anniversary update, the audio also stopped working. Audio was an easy fix - a simple visit to the Lenovo website and uninstall/reinstall the drivers. The USB was not so easy. After trying numerous "fixes", I had to do a clean install of Win 10 to fix the issue (during which the audio stopped working again). After the clean install, everything works perfectly. A new PC should not have these issue but as I enjoy tinkering, this only lost the device 1 star.

durability could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a pretty standard computer, but I find myself wishing there were more storage space. I guess the SSD is worth it. The lid took a bend at some point, and I really don't know how it happened.

One the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it a few days ago when it was on sale for $694.99. I really wanted the 14" instead but went with this one because it was on sale. Out of all the laptops I looked at, I went with Yoga because of of it's edgelss screen, which gives you an amazing view. Not many laptop are edgeless. I won't use it as a tablet much because it's too heavy for that but I often tilt it and use it as a traveling tv. The 15" is great for that. Although, it's light for a laptop, it's still too heavy and bulky to use as a tablet. This is the first time I have a cpu with a SSD hard drive and it is amazingly fast. Nothing special about the speaker. It's also annoying that the keyboard doesn't automatically come up like an ipad when you need to enter text. You have to manually click to get the onscreen keyboard. But so far, I am loving it and it's one of the most beautiful laptop out there.

Great laptop except for....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the right shift key. Like most reviewers the only negative I have is on the right shift key, it's too small for a 15.6" keyboard that does not have a numerical keypad. That said, I love this computer. It is fast to boot up, lightweight and the display is awesome. I haven't had any issues with the fan running too loud as some reviewers have posted. Out of the box I would say this is a winner and such an upgrade over my Dell laptop. I would definitely recommend this laptop.

Not what i expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was agift to me fro graduation from my family. I went to best buy and choose this one because of its features and I bought it on Sep 1 2016. Since then, I have had only troubles. I urgently needed a laptop for school work and I did not look other brands to compare. thought lenovo was very reliable and suggested by my friends. Since i started using it, the fan runs like crazy with a lot of noise. I even bought a desk with holes to keep laptop cool, but it does not work. Fan runs like crazy with a lot of noise. beside it, almost every one in a week or two weeks in the midlle of my work over some documents in word, computer screen becomes blue and tellim me that there is an error saying" Your pc run into some issue and need to restart. it says give this code to a person to handel it. and it freezes so i need to do force shut down. after it, when turning on it starts saying i'working on updates and it time to get updates and then your windoes gets ready to open. beside it just today the taskbar got frozen, i could not use it at all with touchscreen , touchpad or whatever. i had to do force shutdown and loose the work i was doing in notepad.. also the screen is very sensitive, without touching it sometiem it runs crazy and opens up many applications which i did not order so. the battery does not last as it says in the review, even if you leave the pc sleep mode it will consume all battery. battery last less than 4 hours if you take only notes in class withouth opening any software. I am so dissapointed with this laptop. I though i did the right choice but ended up having problems all the time. I went to best buy befooe 3 weeks and they wanted me to pay the geeksquad service 155$ to run any test and see what was going on with the laptop. I had to schedule appointment with them and learn that i had to pay all this. they told me that if i want to ship the laptop to lenove they can do it, but it will take 1 month to get it back. i can not afford to not have my laptop one month. i'm in school and midter and final exams are around the corner. If i had a chance to return this laptop i would do it in a heartbeat.

Posted .We are sorry to hear of the issues you are having with your Lenovo Yoga 710-15. With regard to the fan running, this is a high performance system with both a Core I-5 processor and an Nvidia GT 940 graphics card. Both these processors generate heat, even at idle. The fan keeps the system within operating temperature safe zones. Concerning the error screens you are seeing, there may be driver updates for your specific system. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. Here is the link:

Poorly Constructed - Warning Sceen May Break
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a decent enough computer, like it for many of the reasons posted in the above reviews; however, the weight savings and thinness come at a price. The spine or support where the screen panel hinges to the keyboard body are poorly engineered or manufactured from shoddy materials, hence are noticeably overly flexible in-between the two hinges, and prone to enabling the screen to crack. We handle our notebooks with kid gloves, use padded carry cases, etc. and the screen cracked severely at the bottom right hinge from normal usage. This is our 2nd Yoga 3 (the first was a Pro and far more expensive), but in checking others experience in dealing with Lenovo customer support on this issue (apparently not uncommon), will likely be our last until we see improvements in how they're constructed. Hence, factor in additional warranty if you consider purchasing this unit. Looking forward to seeing Lenovo chime in.

Ghost Screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Completely accurate- see reviewer Same issues Ghosting, was like someone was on my laptop using the mouse, also did disconnect, I am challenged to believe Lenovo doesn't know, useless tried pin reset dint work? Great screen, sharp looking so its flawed, my guess if it is the firmware then possibly upon buying an open book best buy reset all and the fix was erased???? But I feel its doomed in all 710's eventually

I tried!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried SO hard to like this machine, I really did. It came highly recommended so I went out and purchased it. Looking at it out of the box I was shocked the shift key on the right is half the size, with the up arrow key in the way. (That made for a LOT of infuriated typing later on). During the initial start-up process the screen went blank, with the cursor still visible, so I had to hard restart to get back to the initial setup. Fine. 4 days later the computer froze for 5-10 minutes, BSOD'd me, restarted, and went back to normal. ...........okay then. Then a week after that it froze again for another 5 minutes. Come on! That plus a jumpy cursor that no amount of setting adjustments could fix sent me back to the store to exchange it for a new one. Came home with the new one, made it through initial setup (!) and then the trackpad was loose. Fixes included taking the back off (with a t5 tool I dont own) and tightening the thing. After 2 days of a loose trackpad and the cursor jumping EVEN MORE than the first machine (and again, furiously having to scroll back to where I was typing because who moves a shift key??) I took it back again. I didn't go for a third machine.
