I was looking for a replacement for a 7 year old 15 inch Acer that finally died. I wanted a powerful lightweight 13 or 14 inch 2-in-1 that would be easy to use on the road since I travel a lot for work. I also purposely delayed my purchase to wait for the recent release of the new 8th generation Intel processors. After a lot of research, I could not justify spending over $1000 on some premium 2-in-1s such as the Lenovo Yoga 920 or the HP Spectra x360. I understand that those had the I7 processor and a 512 GB hard drive, but those features did not justify a 50% price increase over the Yoga 720, especially considering poor reviews for heat, fan noise, and trackpad (HP) issues. After researching models from Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, and HP at my price point of around $750, I decided on the Lenovo Yoga 720 13 inch. I have had the computer for over three weeks now, and I am very happy with my purchase. It is taking a bit of an adjustment to get used to the smaller size. The biggest change for me is the lack of a number pad I had with my old 15 incher, but I am adapting. Moving from a 15 inch display to a 13 inch display has been much easier than I thought it was going to be, though. The tradeoff is that this Yoga only weighs 2.9 pounds! That is something I appreciate every day. Some observations... Pros: I love the fingerprint scanner and SSD. This thing boots up incredibly fast. It has a PCie SSD, which is faster than the M2 SATA type, and way faster than the old spinning hard drives. I will never have another computer that does not have a SSD! The fingerprint scanner has worked flawlessly. Some have complained about fan noise from last years model (Yoga 710), but I have found this year's model to be extremely quiet. Granted, I am not doing CPU intensive tasks such as video editing. But I do run a lot of apps at once, including video streaming. When the fans (there are 2 of them) do run, they are rather quiet and have a gentle whooshing sound - not a whiny squeal. This computer stays cool to the touch! I have not noticed any hot spots on the top or bottom. The trackpad is fantastic. It is incredibly responsive and easy to use. I used to have to exert a lot of force on my old Acer, but this has a really nice pressure point. The same can be said about the keyboard, though I wish the keys had just a bit more travel to them. But not a deal breaker... My old Acer had top-mounted speakers. I really wanted that feature again and the HP Spectre x360 has them. But it cost over $300 more and had other major problems. The Yoga 720 has 2 down firing JBL speakers. They are not going to blow you away, but they are not bad either. I had bought a small lightweight Bluetooth speaker in anticipation of these not sounding good, but I have not found the need to use them yet. That was a pleasant surprise! The hinges feel sturdy, so I believe they will last a long time. The screen is very good. Color and brightness seem just fine, and are easily adjustable. Cons: I wish it had another standard USB port. The new USB Type C ports are a nice future-proofer, but my stuff is all old USB at this time. I am getting by, and I have read adapters are easily available. I wish the power button was mounted on top of the keyboard somewhere. When I travel, I carry the computer in a computer-type backpack. I have to be very careful to remember to slide the laptop in with the power button facing up. Otherwise the power button will constantly be being pressed/unpressed as I move around with my bag. Those side-facing buttons are notorious for breaking over time. Overall, I am very happy with the Lenovo Yoga 720. With the 8th generation processor, it has all the power and performance I need with a very slim, lightweight profile. I see no need to spend several hundred more for a so-called "premium" 2-in-1.

Power cord is horrible! We’ve replaced it twice so far, and you need to take up an entire outlet just to plug this computer in. Just for the cord alone, I would not recommend this computer

I like this 2 in 1 notebook but the mouse movement is a little crazy. Another problem is that after I close the PC (not shut down) then reopen, often my internet connection is lost. This never happened on my old notebook.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 720-13. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Concerning internet connectivity, this system uses the latest and fastest version of WiFi, 802.11AC. Be sure your router has the latest firmware updates offered by your router manufacturer. Check at your router manufacturer's web site for firmware updates. lenovo

This thing flies. A lot of the people here seem to be really picky, or not know how to use a computer effectively, or know that there was a huge Windows Update pushed out a few days ago, probably resulting in higher load than normal or glitches. Here's what you should do when you first get this computer: - Right after you turn it on, update to the latest Windows FCU. Afterwards, RESET the computer, it will reset to a clean, updated windows. - After reset, run Windows Update to make sure everything is updated, and then update the apps in the Windows Store. Uninstall McAffee and the Games if you want. Then restart the computer. - After Restart, download an app from Github, called NotebookFanControl, choose Lenovo Yoga 2 13, set it to 50% and enable it. Make sure it starts with windows. That's it. Once you do that, the fans won't run at all during normal loads, and there won't be any performance issues. In the end, you will have a Quad-Core, high benchmark (4200/12000 Geekbench 4, 2.4ghz DDR4, TB3 System with great build quality, fast intel Wifi 8250 Card, Screen Quality (which is definitely Glass NOT Plastic - not sure what that guy was smoking), with an extremely fast (3000/2000 R/W) Samsung NVME drive for $800, when other similar specced devices are $1000+) The only Cons are the slight rattle of the speaker, but they sound MUCH better than the Dell XPS's, just make sure that Dolby Atmos is set to Dynamic.

Touchscreen quit working 1 month after purchase. Geeksquad looked at it for 3 days could not fix, Bbuy would not return it. Lenovo said send it i. For replacement, but research on net shows lots of issues with this touchscreen due to a driver issue. Will have to wait for update, none as of this review. It’s been 60 days.

I had picked this laptop computer over several other models because it had the memory and hard drive that I wanted and needed. And it was on sale. That was a bonus. Unfortunately soon into the setting up process the touch scene function failed. That was not acceptable at all so I returned the laptop.

This Lenovo Yoga 720-13 has a battery life of up to 8 hours depending on the work that the device is performing. This is a high performance, ultra portable, 2 in 1 system with its Quad-Core, 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state hard drive. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. lenovo

DO NOT BUY this laptop! Worked great when I first started it, but as soon as the Windows Updates got applied automatically during the set-up the touch screen stopped working. Lenovo is aware of the problem but cannot fix it. Microsoft is also aware but seems to be in no hurry to issue a patch to solve this problem. Trust me, don't waste your time with this.
