This system should be a fast system with its Core I-7 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state hard drive. This system has a 720p HD web cam built in. This configuration is excellent for both business and school. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. lenovo

    Another Quad Core Ultrabook

I tried this laptop as I thought this is a good alternative to the expensive Dell XPS 15 for cheaper price. but cheap does not come without drawbacks and here they are: -BUILD QUALITY: Although made from aluminum, it is not the toughest laptop and sure does not rise to today standard set by (Apple and Dell XPS). It has a lot of flex which makes it lighter and that's an advantage for some, but for me having a little bit additional weight is OK if this will lead to better build quality (Sorry but I was always comparing it to my old TANK Lenovo Y50). My other point was the hinge, although it is better than the Flex5 that I tried as well, it was still wobbly when I used it on a train/bus and I can understand that this is 2 in 1 device but for me this wasn't a priority. Keyboard on the other hand is GREAT!!! beats everything from PC laptops and IMHO way better than the butterfly keys from Apple. Touchpad is ok. -PERFORMANCE: There was nothing to complain about considering the price range, but even If I went for the top of the line one (which wasn't available at BestBuy that time), there are still a lot of things that I wish they have offered. First having one memory module soldered on the motherboard will leave you with the option of adding one module which should not exceed 8GB as what I was told by Lenovo experts (16GB max) the XPS15 can go to 32GB with two modules up-gradable. Second there is only one option GPU which is 1050 with 2GB, they could have added at least 4GB option. One more thing to add, I don't know why Lenovo went with 2133MHz memory speed in 2017 when almost all Quad Core laptops come with 2400MHz speed. -CONNECTIONS: There are only 2 standard USB3.0 ports and 1 USB C with 2x thunderbolt and that's it. if you are a creative content creator you will miss the SD card reader. Bottom Line: For me, I would pick a gaming laptop (BestBuy speciality!!!) over these two competitor (XPS15/YOGA720) any day, but that's just me. But if I was about to pick one of them, I would go for the XPS15 as for the extra $400 - $500 (from the 4K model) I will get: -Way better build quality -Better battery life (with 97WHr configuration) -Best PC laptop touchpad -4GB GTX1050 vs 2GB one. -2400MHz memory speed vs 2133Mhz -32GB maximum 2 and I repeat (2) up-gradable memory modules. -Way better color accuracy display(4K configuration) for (Photographers/Videographers/Artists). -Full size HDMI port -SD Card reader (Photographer/Videographers) will appreciate for sure. -You can have additional 2.5" drive bay if you purchased the 56WHr battery. I still recommend this configuration since a lot of CRIPPLED Dual Core UGLY looking ultrabooks still sells for this price point.

Overall a Great Concept, Poor in Practice

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When I first bought this laptop I got a defective product that wouldn't turn on. I went to Best Buy and was allowed to exchange it for another one of the same type. This laptop worked fine for the first few months and then I get a black screen. It appears the monitor, or the graphics card is not working. I did not get the Best Buy protection plan because they replaced the screen of my previous Toshiba laptop and they didn't do it correctly. I started getting bubbles on the screen after that. So, I decided go for the manufacturers warranty on this one. Do not do it. Lenovo's customer service is horrible. I have talked to them 3 times already and they still do not want me to take it in for repairs. They say they want to keep troubleshooting it. They have since, updated the Bios, ran hardware diagnostics, rolled over the drivers, and it still does the same thing. (My product is only two months old.) On top of that, the only technician that was any good was the first one that I talked to. The others have heavy accents and have trouble understanding anything I say. Plus, they treat you like you are an idiot. Just a horrible service overall. I cannot speak of Lenovo as a company, but my overall experience so far has been horrible. I would not recommend it to a friend.

    Lenovo - Yoga 720 2-in-1 15.6

this is the perfect 15" 2 in 1 touch screen laptop with a full metal body built and dual cooling fan (I believe) this model comes with intel graphics unlike the higher trim with nvidia gtx. I wish they would have this come with 16GB RAM with a little more price. this laptop has samsung 256GB PCIe SSD which is 3 times faster than traditional SATA SSD. The processor/ RAM / Drive are all together super fast combination, turns the OS on in less than 10 secs. The touchscreen is as smooth and sensitive as iphone. I wish if the webcam was 2MP or more and speakers on both the sides of keyboard than in the bottom. Speakers are average loud and could be better. Anyways, in short, this is a perfect buy for the price win-win product.

The 720 15 inch 2-1 is one impressive product. The quad core processor along with a SSD flash drive makes this computer one enjoyable experience. The quality construction, tactile keyboard, fast boot up, accurate touch pad, and sharp display, makes this one of the best I've ever experienced.

The design is sleek and has a nice aesthetic. The laptop is a bit heavy (compared to apple lap tops for example) however it's not uncomfortable to work with at all. The touch screen functions nicely and the backlit keys are a great touch when working in the evenings. The battery life is great too.

Good Laptop until you need extra ports

This is an awesome computer. I am very happy with the "Yoga" ability of being able to flip to a tablet. The major downside is there is an extreme lack of ports. It doesn't have an HDMI/VGA port so you have to buy an additional device to connect to a monitor. It also doesn't have a SD Card reader port. My wife has the Yoga 710 and it has a SD Card reader port. Also, for internet purposes, it does not have a CAT5 port too. I should have taken this into consideration prior to buying this model.

    Sturdy & Lightning Fast

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Fed up with plastic body laptops that broke easily, I carefully shopped around for a metal-bodied one as well as with ample memory, fast drive, etc. The Lenovo Yoga fit the bill. Having owned it for a half year now, I can say I am extremely pleased with the sturdy construction, light weight and lightning-fast solid state drive. The finger print access is also most convenient. Screen quality is sharp and balanced. The audio has depth & breadth, the best I've ever had on a laptop. This is my first Lenovo and I may become a steady product customer. Two critiques: 1) the on/off switch on the right-hand side is poorly selected; one has to be careful not to accidentally turn the unit off just by picking it up or repositioning it; 2) a small complaint: the keyboard edge is quite sharp, making resting one's hands a tad uncomfortable. Upshot: this is great value for the money; perfect for traveling. Hands-down the best laptop I've ever owned.

PC s super fast! I would give it 5 stars if the screen didn't reflect so much light. Beast of a PC. Boots from off in about 30 seconds. Highly recommend. Wish this one came with the 1050 card but for coding/programming this is a great machine.

I was recently looking for a laptop to do school work with and for work. I was pretty dead set on getting the lenovo with the 8th gen I7, but after research I learned the I7 7th gen in this laptop is nearly as good, and better in some categories. I also got a pretty good discount for being a student to I decided to just get this one and save money. Don't regret it at all, laptop is very fast and is pretty well rounded. With the money I saved I just got an external drive to handle my storage needs.

This would be the perfect laptop if....

... it did not constantly shut down!!! I purchased this laptop in January 2018 and it has everything I need. However, the laptop will randomly shut down at any given time. Some days, the laptop will not shut down and on other (most days), it will shut down almost every 20 to 30 minutes. I started doing research online and discovered that this is a very common problem with Lenovo laptops. I have tried many solutions that have been provided by others and nothing seems to work. Fortunately, I know someone in the computer business and I am going to have him try to resolve this issue. I purchased this laptop after comparing the Lenovo brand to others and reading reviews and I was impressed by the great reviews it received. However, I'm not understanding how it has received so many good reviews. I thought that maybe I received a faulty laptop but again, after doing further research online I discovered this is a common problem with Lenovo laptops.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your Lenovo Yoga 720-15. Obviously, this system should not be shutting down on its own. This is not a common problem. Can’t connect to the internet properly

After receiving this laptop and setting it up, I was unable to browse the internet without it lagging and I was unable to dowload anything. I was only able to download Netflix. I contacted Geeksquad online but was unable to get service because I’m supposed to pay for another plan for online customer service, besides the 1 year warranty I paid for. I took it to a bestbuy store and it worked okay there. I also contacted Lenovo and was provided with some links to fix the computer, but I’m no expert. I paid for a usable and updated laptop so I will have to return it since the screen also flickers a lot and the laptop has a loud fan noise. This is the only laptop and device in my house that has this problem.

    Black Line across my screen

I bought this laptop a few months ago and it worked great at the start! But after about a month, a diagonal black line across the top of my screen appeared. It went away for about 2 weeks but then it was back. This line had no effect on how my computer has worked, but is simply annoying. I will be taking in my machine to best buy today to see if they can fix it.

Went in and purchased this computer. Was initially excited to get it. The fan is constantly on and LOUD. It is absolutely awful!! It doesn't matter if it is on a hard surface or soft surface. It doesn't matter if you have 1 tab open or more. IT's LOUD and ROARING. If you can stand the fan noise, get this computer. However, It can be glitchy as well. slow in playing Youtube videos, sometimes. This was the most expensive computer I've ever purchase and it is a HUGE disappointment. I never leave reviews but this thing is bad. Especially coming from a chromebook which made ZERO noise.

This is a high performance system with its Intel Core i7-7700HQ 4-core/8-thread processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state hard drive. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. lenovo

To be clear this is a review for the Lenovo - Yoga 720 2-in-1 15.6 Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Quad Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive - Platinum silver. The display brightness wavers. Updating drivers is a major pain. Also Windows from a paint program "remained" after the application closed. There were about 20 drivers or software to update. Lenovo support is a pain to deal with. Just yesterday I returned a Lenovo 710 that stopped working after 3 weeks. There something seriously wrong with Lenovo's testing. The prices are great and the products do not work. Also Lenovo in-house warranty does cover the first 30 days. !!!!. Aggravating company to deal with.
