Regarding the fingerprint reader, we recommend making multiple "copies" of the same finger or more than one to help with recognition, along with checking for fingerprint reader driver updates. To check for updates, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates here as well.

1 year and is junk

Was a great laptop and then one day dead. wont charge. $1200 laptops shouldn't just die after a year and the worst part is this isn't the only one that has done it. There are loads of people for the last 5 years that have the same problem. Some are lucky and they are fixed with a quick firmware update others nothing works. Battery says it has 75% battery capacity but stays at 0% and only works if its plugged in. Lenovo doesn't help the problem either even though people have been complaining about it for over 5 years there is no real solution other than buy a new laptop. We've had two Lenovo laptops in 4 years and ill say they don't seem to last long. We are not hard on them either.

To start, to ensure the system is running optimally, we recommend checking if you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button, apply all available updates. Next, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates here as well.
Also, when the system runs "slower", is this after device startup or waking from sleep? Do you notice this with certain programs or a set of apps open? Does this slow down happen across the system to affect overall responsiveness? If you could provide this feedback, along with any other comments that you wish to share, we'd love to hear from you further to ensure we've uncovered the root of the issue.
