Great school laptop

Had an old HP Elite 2 in 1 before

It has some issues I can't explain yet. Keyboard is far up. CSR on the phone told me I had to pay a restocking fee. I guess he thought it was very funny. I did not. I had to bring one laptop back as the hinges were very stiff. I brought it in the store and asked them what they thought. They said it's not supposed to be like that, to return it. So I did and I got a slightly different one. I think they didn't have the exact same one or something. I was within that 10 or 14 day return window. I went to the Best Buy when I got back home and talked to that manager about it, he said I should not have been told that. Not sure if it's off my bill or not. I just think it is insane they'd tell that anyway when I brought it back based on store employees suggestions. If you call a Best Buy store, it routes you to some place on the other side of the planet. It's terrible! It's a waste of time.

Nice computer - but it’s not a Mac.

It has problems switching automatically between laptop and tablet mode - particularly in sensing the keyboard. But the screen is nice @2k and the touch sensitivity very good. All in all, just still a bit slow processing over network and connectivity issues to external monitor/tvOS.

Regarding the trouble switching modes and connectivity issues, to try to resolve this, first, we recommend ensuring you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button. Next, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button. If after the available updates are applied and the system restarts, yet the issue persists, in-depth troubleshooting will be necessary to fix the problem, which we then would recommend contacting Lenovo Support for further assistance. We are pleased to hear that your Yog a 7i is working out nicely for you overall, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective with us.

It's more compact than my HP's so it's going to take time to get used to it but it's so much easier to carry. Just a little disappointed that laptops no longer have the internal CD drive but will invest in an external one.
