Poor Touchpad

The right click on the lower right corner has a 50-50 chance of bringing up the right-click dialogue box or acting as a tap. I finally selected 2-finger tap for right click and this works much better. The pad is sometimes extremely sensitive such that just a light touch makes a change and other times takes a firm tap after a light tap does not work. This touchpad could drive me to go back to a mouse. In retrospect, I got the Lenovo because it was more available than a Dell, but think I should have gotten the Dell.

To start, first, in Windows Settings, follow these steps to get to touchpad settings: Bluetooth & Devices > Touchpad. There should be an option to toggle touchpad options there, and please ensure it is on. Also, under the "Taps" option in this part of the menu, you can adjust touchpad sensitivity. If this doesn't do the trick, then try installing any available updates through the Lenovo Vantage app by selecting the "Check for updates" button on the homepage of the app. Then, check for updates in the Settings app by selecting the Windows Updates tab and selecting "Check for updates" button.

When typing new password several letters do not appear and I then have trouble using the password I thought I had typed. The most satisfying thing I have done is to watch movies from PBS. I would not buy this brand again. I hope I can learn to use it and get past the passwords/pins that were mistyped and so have locked me out.

And, after a month and having taken all the time to reinstall programs - AND to have to buy another license for MS-Office (I don't want 365!!) I now have to return this and buy a laptop that actually has the ability to input an external microphone through a jack (not blue tooth!!!). It cost me $175 to have a technician try and this to work (the Dell shares the headphone output jack with the microphone input jack. He tried installing drivers, etc, only to find out that finally determine this unit DOES NOT support a line-in microphone through a jack. Yet - the specs SAY it does have this feature. I am really mad at Best Buy for recommending this unit to me - AND, to the Geek Squad, who dialed into my unit and after wasting two hours of my time, admitted that he was unable to figure this out and sent me to the 800 number to book an on-site appointment - something that can't be done on the 800 number. After doing some research I decided to go back to buying a Dell, and because I have the yearly service package, I am going to expect the Geek Squad at the store that sold me this dumb Lenovo and have them reinstall EVERYTHING on the new unit - of course, once I confirm that indeed the DELL is able to support the external mic (my old Dell does so I can't see why the new one wouldn't but who knows these days...) God, if I got a dollar for every minute I have wasted on this whole project, this new Dell would be free!
