Sleek, light, fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wasn't looking to buy another pc. I am not a fan of Windows 10 by any means, but after reviewing the specs I just felt that this laptop was still a better deal than the Mac Book Air. I really like the feel of the faux leather (or whatever its suppose to be) hand rest, the watch band hinges feel sturdy and the weight of this thing is just non existent. This is the first solid state drive computer that I have used and I can't believe how fast it loads, you hit the power button and it just seems to be at the login screen as soon as the screen comes on. So far the battery life has been great (though it seems to take a long time to charge back up). I'm not a power user by any means but I spent about 5 hours browsing the web, watching videos, and reading before having to plug in. Tablet mode; I'm not really sure about using it in tablet mode to be honest. Not because it doesn't perform this task well but because it just feels to large and awkward for me. The touch screen is accurate, though finger prints build up quickly. The only app that I really like to use in tablet mode is flipboard but the app itself is not executed as well as it is on my phone. Being able to flip the keyboard back as a stand for watching videos is pretty nice and the sound from the speakers is pretty good. I have no complaints about the screen quality here as movies/videos look great. All in all the hardware that Lenovo has put together here is awesome, the keyboard lighting comes in handy and I really like that you can adjust the brightness even though its only two settings to choose from. The only reason that I gave it four stars instead of five is Windows 10, still have the same freezing, programs not responding, typical Windows stuff issues.

Was an open box and did not work.

Awesome machine.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this machine is very fast and runs very smoothly on a day to day basis. I use this machine for college. Is able to run all the developer programs I use for my computer science classes. Touch screen is very accurate. Battery life is consistently between 7.5 up to 9.5 hours depending on what you are doing. Backlit keyboard is also a plus. Only wish screen and keyboard would have ambient sensor to adjust lighting automatically like my MacBook Pro Retina. Overall great buy.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 900-13. With regard to the screen brightness, there is an automatic sensor setting. Right click on your Windows 10 desktop from the pop up window that comes up, select "Display Settings". Under "Display" there is a toggle for turning on automatic brightness control for the screen.

Product is okay but be aware of the support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen of my laptop started flickering about 10-11 months after purchase. Eventually the only way I could use the laptop was with an external display. I sent it back to Lenovo before the warranty expired. I took pictures of the outside before shipping but neglected to take pictures of the inside of the laptop. After review at Lenovo they came back and said that the laptop had been damaged and they would be a charge to repair. What?? It was not damaged when it left my hands. The ticket was escalated to a case manager on 2/10 and 2 weeks later I have yet to receive an email or phone call about my laptop. I have called 8 times, emailed twice, place a tweet on Twitter and submitted a post on the Lenovo forum. Probably one of the worst displays of "customer service" that I have ever witnessed. I work in the customer service field myself and would never treat my clients in this manner and certainly would not have a job if I did.

my favorite laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my Yoga 900 for about 6 months, and I love pretty much everything about it. It is lightweight, has great battery life, small footprint, great connectivity (although It would be nice to have a dedicated video port of some type), and is wonderfully quick with everything from spreadsheets to 3-d modeling.

Pretty Solid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - Iris 540 Graphics - Light - Decent battery life - Decent keyboard Cons - Touchpad is sloppy IMO, it's ok but definitely could have been better. - Lower case flexes....kinda a cheap plastic feeling - Stock drivers are horrible First thing after making sure it powers on, go to Intel's website and download the latest chipset, wireless, and graphics drivers. Once those are installed, then actually start using it. I'm not sure why it originally shipped with the extremely buggy drivers but updating it does resolve the issues. With the back to school promo's and the current sale, it's a pretty good deal.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 900-13. With regard to the driver update issue, there have been several Windows 10 updates that have conflicts with older drivers. As you point out once the drivers are updated things work well. Users can also go to Lenovo.com support-drivers and look for driver updates there.

Great Laptop for mobility!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is very light. It's easy to carry around and use. The hinge is very strong and is able to hold the shape that you put the laptop into. The screen resolution is a bit low, but is very functional. The sound is pretty good and can be easily heard while making dinner (I like to prop it up in the corner of my kitchen while cooking in the Tent Mode).

Good, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a college student, was looking for something lighter than my old laptop to carry in my backpack. Yoga 900 is really thin and doesn't weigh much. The system is really fast but the touch isn't compatible with a stylus or pen which is a bummer for taking notes.

The best computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not sure what some people expect from computers, to be abused and scratch resistant at same time? Every 2 in 1 is fragile, take good care of them. I got my orange with I7, 16GB RAM and 500 SSD directly from Lenovo few months ago (Used Yoga 2 Pro before) and I am extremely happy. This is so far one of the best computer out there.

good on paper but poor build quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 6 years of staying with macbooks, I decided to take a plunge into the windows world again. This looked like a great buy on paper but within a couple of hours i quickly realized this will need to be returned. Here are some of the issues with my laptop: 1)The fan stays on all the time. even when all there is running is a browser window(doesn't matter whether it is edge or chrome). and this is with online one web page. 2)the space bar is much softer than the rest of the keys. I can't think this is by design. 3)If I move the laptop like a "see-saw" it sounds like there is a loose piece that moves from side to side. 4)Miracast won't work. Spend several hours with tech support. First they wanted to charge me for the "support" stating its a software issue and not hardware issue. Secondly, they had no clue what miracast was. The most laughable excuse that one of the agents told me was that its not covered by the warranty and it is stated in the warranty. I looked up the warranty and there was no exclusion. Infact, it stated that if lenovo is unable to fix the laptop they will send me a replacement. When I pointed it out, he said they only send replacements if the laptop was bought through the lenovo website. In my case, my only recourse is best buy!!! Not only that but he stated that the warranty I am looking at is a generic warranty(mind you this is from lenovo's website) and there are additional clauses. When I asked him where I could read up on those clauses he said they are not written anywhere but is "word of mouth". Essentially they are making stuff up as they go along and will do anything to get out of fixing the issues. 5)Magically my laptop has 392 days of warranty even though the laptop is supposed to only have 1 year of warranty. Which leads me to believe that this must have been a refurbished laptop that they sent my way and the poor guy befor me probably paid for extended warranty!!! This laptop is going back to bestbuy. Time to move back to macbooks!!!

Lots of potential but falls horribly flat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had really high hopes for this Yoga laptop, after reading the reviews and listening to the glowing things the Best Buy sales guy said about it. While it has enormous potential, including being super light, fast to boot and run programs, with a beautiful screen/touchpad, it has what I see as a huge glaring weakness - the Intel broadband wireless-AC 7260 NIC that it comes with. This card is fundamentally incapable of reaching AC connection speeds, let alone Wireless N. I was never able to get faster than 22Mbps out of my 150Mbps Comcast connection. After hours spent researching, I found out what garbage this card is and how many people have the same issues across various brands. I even spent time with Lenovo and Intel tech support to no avail, so the computer is going back, so I can save my $1100 I paid for it. I'll still with my four-year old Macbook for now, because there seem to be no good Windows laptops anymore.

Awesome 2-in-1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop for grad school and decided on this one. I wanted a 2-in-1 and I thought that this was the best one and worth the cost. I bought an open box one and it was in perfect condition. It's so light and easy to carry, the battery lasts a really long time, the hinge for rotating the screen is awesome. I love that it came with only a few things installed, it's nice to look at your programs and there's only like 7 things installed. It runs quickly and I like the multi-touch use of the mousepad. Some things others complain about: Loud fan - It's really not that loud. While you're working it stays pretty silent and I usually only hear the fan when I put it down and it's on standby. Power button - I've hit the power button while picking up the laptop but it just puts it to sleep, which you just have to press again to turn it back on. It's easy to avoid. Cracked screen - This is gorilla glass and you can tell. I've dropped it from my couch to the floor a few times and everything is still as new. Also carrying cases are cheap.

Lasted Three Months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially happy with laptop but after several months of occasional and gentle use, the screen started to flicker on and off when rotating screen or while sitting on the desk. Had to send laptop in for repairs. Still waiting for it to be returned. Online status indicates parts had to be ordered. No information given as to what, whether they are or are not in stock, no idea of how long it might be before parts arrive. Contacting customer support by phone resulted on not information beyond a screen being ordered. Support couldn't give me any idea if part was in stock or not nor any idea of how long the laptop would be in service. This was my first Lenovo laptop of many that I have owned. All have lasted beyond three years. This one lasted 3 months. I am disappointed that it failed but even more disappointed in the poor process and communication by Lenovo.

Don't buy it if you want to run Linux.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am rating this product 1 star because Lenovo locked the BIOS to prevent Linux from being installed. The Solid State Drive is in some weird RAID mode that not even the Windows installer from Microsoft recognizes without drivers from Lenovo being put into the root folder of the installation media. Linux distributions like Ubuntu can't see the storage either and so you can't install. There is no way to put the SSD in AHCI mode because Lenovo locked the BIOS into RAID mode, and refuses to fix it. A person on the forum topic for trying to get Linux installed on the Yoga 900 ISK2 ended up hooking up an external ROM flasher to get around Lenovo's signature check on the BIOS image, and flashed a custom BIOS into it by default, and then was able to put the SSD into AHCI mode and install Linux. In other words, if you want to be able to run anything but Windows 10, and don't want to have to go through an ordeal to get Windows 10 reinstalled if anything ever happens to it, then don't buy this computer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Lenovo Product Expert
Posted .To improve system performance, Lenovo is leading an industry trend of adopting RAID on the SSDs in certain product configurations. Lenovo does not intentionally block customers using other operating systems on its devices and is fully committed to providing Linux certifications and installation guidance on a wide range of products - https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd031426. Unsupported models will rely on Linux operating system vendors releasing new kernel and drivers to support features such as RAID on SSD.

A Beauty that does what i need
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had desktops for years and was time to get more mobile with a laptop. Wanted it to be fast, light, to be flexible into tablet form, to look good, great screen colors, and no skid pad with no fingerprints shown. This laptop does that and more. I compared it to HP Spectre x360 and Samsung ATIV Book 9 Spin and felt this was superior. Keyboard takes a bit of getting used to with much flatter keys than my desktop keyboard.
