    Excellent Convertible

I did a lot of research before purchasing the Yoga 900 and to be honest was ready to buy the HP Spectre X360 due to the positive ratings I read from others. Being a cautious buyer, I went into Best Buy to test drive it. While walking around, I ran into Yoga 900 and actually liked it better. Both the Spectre X360 and the Yoga 900 are very similar, to me I liked the responsiveness of the Yoga a little better and thought it was a little lighter (which it is). However, I wouldn't discourage anyone from the Spectre. Just a note, I also test drove the Yoga 14" since it was much cheaper than the Yoga 900, but as a tablet, it's almost useless as it's so big. Just my $.02.

I am a novice with computers. this one is so easy to use. I had problems with the scroll on the mouse pad. but best buy was awesome. they gave me a new one whit no issues. so far this is the best laptop i ever had. i am replacing a Dell Inspiron with this Lenovo . This laptop is very light, fast and stylish. I am very happy with the battery life too. I'm getting about 8 to 9 hours.

Great laptop for a student who wants it all!

This laptop is super lightweight, fast, and has a great battery life! As a college student that's on campus all day and carries her laptop with her everywhere, this was the perfect choice for me. i7 processor is significantly much faster than the i5 of my last laptop. 360 degree hinge and touchscreen are also really great for entertainment and note-taking purposes. The only issue I have is that the screws around the hinges seem to be coming loose, so I have to be extra cautious about that. Other than that, it's a beautiful laptop and works really well.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 900-13. With regard to the screws coming loose on your device, check with the Geek Squad at your local Best Buy Store, there is a liquid sealer that was put on at the factory that must have come off or cracked on your system. This sealer locks the screws in place. lenovo

    Best Laptop I've Ever Used

This laptop is incredible. Extremely thin and light, amazing screen, amazing performance. I had a few minor problems with it: 1) It crashed the first day I had it because I plugged a monitor into it via normal USB cable. Don't ever do this. Fortunately, I simply reinstalled Windows and fixed it. It hasn't ever crashed or seriously glitched since, and I've had it for over a month. 2) It was hard to get the touchpad so that anywhere you clicked with one finger would be a left click. I figured out a way though, you just have to modify a directory. 3) The scrolling is terrible on Control Panel (no idea why). But you don't need to use Control Panel very often. 4) It scratches more easily than a Mac, although still not very much. 5) It makes more noise than a Mac. That said, the problems i had with it were more than made up for by the things I love about it: 1) It is incredibly fast and can even play modern games with medium high graphics. faster than any laptop i've ever used 2) It has a very long battery life...about the same length as a macbook air 2011. 3) The screen is absolutely phenomenal. 4) The keyboard and touchpad are both perfect. You get used to the strange positioning of the shift key. the feel of the touchpad is great, better than a mac. 5) It almost never errors or glitches at any time. 6) It looks perfect. Bottom line: Get this computer; you will not find anything better in the $800-$1,100 range.

Great ultrabook for research and daily use

I purchased my old Yoga 2 Pro two years ago after I sold my Macbook Pro, and since then I became a big fan of this design. Half an year later I got the same model for my wife. And this time I upgrade my own to Yoga 900. The four modes are not what attract me, and actually I only use laptop mode and tablet mode. I love the metal case and ultra thin body. I personally customize my laptop a lot, and Lenovo has been a very stable brand to work with comparing to other brands. Comparing to Macbook with limited compatibility (both software and hardware) and HP and Dell's heating problem, Yoga series is definitely top of the line. I can't name another computer to recommend now. This is the one, and my only choice.

Great laptop once you fix the quirks

For the price, I'm very happy with the build quality, thinness, and specs. I found myself using the touchscreen much more than I thought I would. It did have a few quirks to sort out. 1) Update your trackpad driver if it's not working correctly. 2) If you rely on some older applications, they might look incredibly tiny on this high-res screen. The good news is you can fix it if you tinker around a bit.

    Cons overwhelm the pros

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Short story: Bought a competing machine, exchanged it for this one, exchanged back less than 24 hrs later. Longer story: This is not a bad machine. However, there are some usability issues that hamstring this otherwise very usable convertible. Pros: Great hinge - really, if a stable, versatile hinge is important, you can't get better. Lots of ports. Really great keyboard Feels great as a tablet Cons: Unexpectedly lackluster screen. (not bright enough, a bit "dotty" for such a high-res machine Sluggish. Compared to the same hardware in a competing machine, this thing was like a snail. Pauses when pulling up the start menu, less responsive clicking, pauses when switching from tablet to laptop and vice-versa. BLOATWARE - probably impacting the above, the Lenovo software loaded on this machine is just crazy bad. Can't even just click on the battery icon without a big, windowed app launching! Trackpad - this was the WORST and the reason it went back. First, you can't 2-finger-tap for right click. You can 2-finger-CLICK, but not tap. Not an option. Two-finger scrolling is intermittent, and unpredictable. The trackpad rattles and feels loose. This was the best I could get AFTER upgrading the driver. This machine is disappointing. However, there is room for software improvements for part of this. If Lenovo makes the trackpad more responsive and can remove about 95% of the useless (worse- actively hindering!) software then this could be a nicely mediocre laptop. For me, the smaller, 4k-equipped competitor makes more sense.

There's a LOT better out there for the price

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

There are a lot of good thing about this laptop but unfortunately the cons are too much to overcome. If you still have time under the return policy, return or exchange it for an apple macbook air. Don't leave my review just because you heard "apple" and you're not an apple guy or girl. Ive been an HP guy all my life. I'm 29 now and there is nothing out there that is better for this price. Lenovo Yoga 900 Pros: -Touchscreen is cool -How it folds it many directions is cool as well -I like the rubbery grip on, it is very smooth on the hand/arm Lenovo yoga 900 cons: -Laptop overheats and starts making a small noise as if its struggling to fan out the heat and this was day 1 on my new purchase. This was a problem that occured with my HP pavilion laptop after 3-4 years. -Keyboard buttons are very sensitive and sit very flush against the board making typing annoying. If you click a key it clicks it twice very often which then you have to always correct and backspace. The backspace button is also very small. The whole keyboard just feels spaced too tight. -The speed of the laptop is decent but too many times when a file or internet page is loaded up, it has to play catch up for a little while. There also must be a problem with loading videos because a small 10 minute video loads EXTREMELY slow and its not the wifi because everything else in my house loads fast. -Dont even get me started on the touchpad, it feels cheap and flimsy. its froze a few times while scrolling already. It just felt like the laptop was always playing catch up. Also the right click on the touchpad is all the way on the bottom right where you sometimes have to click 2-3 times to get it. -It also didn't sit flush on certain tables and counters Summary: If you're really interested in the idea that it is a 2 in 1 laptop and tablet, try to just give up on that and let it go because that is the ONLY cool thing about the laptop. The lenovo has too many problems for 256gb to be selling for $1199. The macbook air sells for the same price and blows the lenovo out of the water. It is more user friendly and it took me less than 5 mins of playing on here to ever even think of buying anything but a mac. I don't know why it took me so long to hop on the apple wagon. If you're really sold on the idea of having a 2 in 1 laptop and tablet and simply don't want apple there are better laptops out there that can give you that. If you really still want the lenovo, go out and give it a shot just make sure you hold onto the receipt so you can exchange it when you realize that it is junk.

I am very happy with the purchase of this laptop! I searched several laptops and this one was by far the best I found. Very light-weight and comfortable, and great performance. Given the small size, the only downside is that there is only 1 RAM slot, so in order to get more you need to get a 12GB or 16GB single RAM stick which are much harder to find.

Not SW Developer friendly - Bad Keyboard

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I spent a lot of time researching for a laptop that is very mobile, powerful and 2 in 1 with a reasonable cost. Awesome form factor and screen and touch screen very responsive. This can't get any better for 2 in 1 buyer...but here are the major problems for developers... 1. Keyboard is not developer friendly. I can understand for small size laptop keys needs to be crammed, but shift & backspace key are really crammed and not at same offsets as typical keyboard. This makes it very hard to use for developers. HP spectre for same size has a well designed keyboard. I am only one step closer to returning this laptop for this reason. It is totally messing up my key typing accuracy. 2. This is not necessarily lenovo issue, but be warned resolution is so high that most of the development tools and their icons look tiny and very hard to work with.

I was looking for a computer to use in school, and had a hard time deciding which was more important, storage, speed, or functionality. The Lenovo Yoga combined all of those into one super light, sharp looking 2 in 1. I could not be happier with my decision.

I think this was the best Windows tablet available. It felt lightweight. Yet sturdy and high-quality and your hands. Keyboard was very natural to type. I really like the hands felt solid. My only complaint for is the new update for windows 10. I was on the Microsoft store to work. I have decided to go back to MacBook. If you like Windows you can't do better than this computer.

The hardware on this machine is fantastic. It makes it extremely fast and snappy at everything you do. Unfortunately, my machine was full of bugs. the graphics, while beautiful, made the text on some applications, such as Quicken 2014, to be so tiny that it was unreadable. After Windows 10 performed a large update, I lost my audio. Geek squad worked to rectify the situation, but was unable to resolve the audio or graphics issues. Aside from the technical issues, the keyboard felt awkward. The right hand shift key is much smaller than I am accustomed to. My machine is now for sale at the Quakertown store as an open box item. I do not recommend this machine.

Pro's: 1. Fast. It's the fastest battery powered computer I have used. 2. Quiet. 3. Cool running. 4. Great battery life. 5. Absolutely fabulous display. Ultra clear and great colors. 6. Nicely designed backlit keyboard. 7. Even though it is very thin and light, the chassis seems very sturdy. Con's: 1. Updating drivers requires a little extra time. Sometimes generic drivers work but sometimes you need to use Lenovo custom drivers. 2. Cannot add memory. Overall, I love my new Lenovo Yoga and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Light, cool running, fast processor, solid state drive, excellent graphics, sturdy feeling, excellent thin design. A larger drive would be about the only major improvement needed for this laptop. Pleased with this laptop computer in every way except the price paid, and that was with an open box special. Sometimes you nearly get what you pay for and in this purchase we nearly did.
