I bought this because of the graphics. I needed a laptop thst would help bring my designs to life! Although the price was mkre than I wanted to pay, IT WAS WORTH IT! I wasnt aware it had a pen, but I've enjoyed using that well up until I lost it. I do wish it had a feature that alerted me the pen was out its garage. Other than that. I live it!

You need to hire back some employees. The wait times to try to buy things is outrageous. I don’t understand why you even have a retail store with 4 or less employees working?

No so perfect Open-box-Certified Lenovo Yoga 9i

My problem with this purchase is that it was an "Open-Box Excellent - Certified" item and had issues out of the box. Such items are supposed to be professionally cleaned and look brand new. This one was covered with handprints - so much for professionally cleaned. The next issue was that the biometrics (finger print reader) did not work. I spend 4 hours on the phone with Lenovo customer support, who completely reset the operating system, upgraded the drivers, and had me try multiple things to remedy the situation. Nothing was successful. They then had a local technician come to my site to fix it. This was supposed to be a next day event, but took the better part of a week to acquire the necessary parts. It turns out the "repair" required the complete changeout of the keyboard, to which all internal components are attached. This was major brain surgery which required the complete disassembly of the laptop, and reinstallation of all of the parts on the new keyboard, including the connection of dozens of delicate ribbon cables. The technician was brutal in his handling of this process. When he was finished, the biometrics still did not function. Even if they had, I would not have ever trused this laptop after it was brutalized by the technician. The end result was I returned it to Best Buy.

Battery life is far better than expected, over 6 hours even with UHD screen. As a reference my 2016 model Yoga 910 with UHD screen was max 4hrs. It is nice to have a pen included and carried within the laptop. Only downside I can think of is the location of the ports. All ports are on the left side of the laptop, nothing on the right.

This model ships with an HD (720p) webcam with manual privacy shutter. Be sure the Privacy Shutter is open before you use the webcam. The slider to open the webcam Privacy Shutter is directly above the webcam lens on the top frame of the screen. If you see a red dot over the webcam lens, your Privacy Shutter is closed. Use a fingernail to slide the Privacy Shutter to the right to open. The red dot over the webcam lens will disappear and your webcam is ready to use. If the Privacy Shutter is open but the webcam still does not work, check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type Lenovo Vantage in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on Health and Support. In the expanded menu, select Hardware Scan. In the window that opens, select Run Quick Tests. This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on System Update. First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows. Once that scan is complete, select Additional Updates. This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

The second one I got, I was on Lenovo customer support for hours and hours that first week, and things kept going wrong...this then that. I ended up taking that one back too. The computer was also laggy. I couldn't believe how poor this machine was compared to my Surface tablet, which I bought maybe 6 years ago? Lenovo, c'mon... Now I have an HP Envy that I'm loving simply because it works. And has a big screen.

Beautiful laptop with hardware flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is for the Shadow Black Yoga 9i: Beautiful laptop with hardware flaws that are difficult to get past. The display and specs are great; the keyboard has nice travel and was easy to adjust to. Even the touchpad (which many complain about) wasn't a big issue to adjust to. But the fingerprint reader (which is how it handles Windows Hello) is a problem. The Shadow Black version uses the newer ultrasonic sensor which is supposed to be faster and more secure. The issues seems to be that the sensor requires that there is moisture on your finger to work; it doesn't map dry fingerprints. So when i use it normally it doesn't work; get my finger damp (one person reported licking their finger on a forum) and it magically works great. It's a stupid flaw but one Lenovo seems to not have an answer for. I wish this was fixed; there is so much to like about this machine.

There is no need for your finger to be wet for the sound waves from the fingerprint reader to read your fingerprint. Here's a tip for making your fingerprint reader work every time: Try lightly sliding your finger over the fingerprint reader area. No need to press hard on the reader since the fingerprint reader uses sound waves to read your fingerprint, in fact pressing hard on the fingerprint reader will distort your fingerprint and cause read errors. But wait there is more the cover of the display is Black Leather. Elegance at its finest! The only downside is the touchpad its so smooth and sleek that you can barely fill it sometimes.
