The advertised battery life is what can be achieved in certain conditions with local video playback, resulting in a very low energy expenditure on the system. In everyday use of the system for how you use your laptop can cause significantly higher power draw and various system settings can impact battery life as well.
If you want to squeeze out more battery life, we recommend utilizing the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance (to access relevant settings, open Vantage > Device Settings > Power). You can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both worlds.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really did research to pick this laptop and I was extremely excited to finally receive it. However within the first 24 hours of usage, my battery completely failed. This could be on part because it was sitting for too long without being charged as I had to plug the device in for it to turn on during first startup, or the fact that there was faulty hardware in the system to begin with. Despite that, I powered up the device and used as normal, setting up, completing windows updates and logging into apps I would use as normal. The issue occurred randomly after hours of usage, instantly shutting off the laptop. Thinking it was a small error, I powered the device back up and resumed what I was working on. It then shut off again. It was probably a small error so I restarted the computer and during the restart process the device once again shut off. I noticed a blinking orange charging light on the side of the lenovo which I looked into and it said that the device was on critical battery despite moments ago being on 46% battery life. The lenovo vantage app contains information about your device's health so I went into that to check the battery status. 0% capacity, 0%charge and 0% factory capacity. Critical battery error. I submitted a ticket to lenovo but will be returning the product as this is an extreme disappointment to have a device with a failing battery within 24 hours of receiving the product. There are so so many pluses with this device but that fact that this was one of my first hands on experiences with the laptop, it is an extreme disappointment and I hope no one else has to deal with something similar.

Wonderful and sleek laptop

Colors are accurate. Keyboard is soft. Beautiful blue color which is a nice break from regular black or silver. I would say its a fingerprint magnet but I keep it clean. Overall a very satisfied purchase.
