Excellent Choice

It feels nice typing on it. One drawback is the buttons on the far left. They are quite useful, but I accidentally hit them all the time when I'm trying so that’s a bit annoying, but hopefully I can get used to them. I Love the color of this computer and the display is awesome.

We purchased one for my daughter after her HP had a broken hinge (a know issue that is yet unresolved by the company). She liked it so well that I purchased one for myself a fee months later. I have used it for my crafting designs as well as many other general uses with no problems.

Even at that price I was nervous about spending so much on a windows computer (last laptop was a mac) but I have loved it from day one. It’s well built despite how versatile it is, sleek, and very portable -which is extremely important for my job and going back to school. I’ve had it over a month now and just appreciate it more every day.

Loud fan noise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to love this computer but the fan noise is exceptionally loud and the keyboard as well as the base of the laptop start to heat up with something as simple as web browsing. I have been using the laptop for a few hours now and the fan has been running non-stop. Sadly seems like Lenovo has gone down on the quality of products but kept the same price. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Regarding the heat produced, the Yoga 9i features an active cooling system, along with other components and software, enabling the user to power through work without throttling due to heat produced. We recommend that the bottom of the device, where the air intake vents are, is clear of obstructions to increase air flow, as inadequate cooling and heat exchange will lead to the fans raising in speed and more heat to be trapped in the device. Additionally, most Lenovo laptops have a feature called Smart Control, enabling the user to use the key command combination of Fn + Q to toggle between thermal/performance mode. For instances where you may use the device in your lap, we recommend switching to cool or quiet mode to help with the heat felt on the bottom of the machine. Also, please check for and apply any available updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings to help ensure you are using the latest software and drivers to maintain device health. Should your issue persist after these fixes, we recommend reaching out to Lenovo Support here: 877-453-6686, and providing a representative with details of your issue, so that they may help by providing a solution for you. But i will say the price drop in six months was staggering.. less than six months and it was on the market for 600 less. Oh actually.. battery life is definitely something to be revisited.. its not just slightly annoying.. i mean you get a few hours total! Before youre back to the charger.. its pretty ridiculous. Otherwise great purchase

Regarding battery life, this Yoga 9i features a high-powered processor that by default, the system will provide as much performance as needed at any given time, which can sacrifice battery life. If you want to squeeze out more battery life, we recommend utilizing the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance (to access relevant settings, open Vantage > Device Settings > Power). You can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both worlds.

Too Bad Best Buy Screwed It Up!

The unit received came in a generic box, missing the pen and sleeve and had glue stuck to the top where the display unit tag was clearly placed, not to mention all the scratches on the screen and outer shell! Outside the condition of the unit I received, the laptop was the best I had used up to this point. Kudos Lenovo!

I was shown a different laptop and i was about to purchase it when the sales rep took it from me and stated they had promised it to another customer that had been there earlier that day. This really made me upset since it was in my hands.

I knew a pencil came with it but to also get a case was a surprise and saved me more money. The screen is beautiful. I think I should have bought a larger screen for my eyesight. There are a lot of functions that I’m not familiar with. I have used the copolit for school and it’s very convenient. So far I like my choice. The is my first Lenovo computer. I’m not sure I have the battery life set right but I havent paid a lot of attention to how long it last. I thought buying a 16GB meant faster boot up time but I can have a lot of folders open.

Good but not the premium of the past

It doesn't feel as premium as the 2 year old 9i I'm replacing. I'm not sure if it has metal but it all feels like plastic. When I pick it up the bottom creaks. It has a great display with rich colors. It is a pleasure watching media. Heat and fan noise is minimal, although I haven't tried any games, but this isn't a gaming laptop. I am pleased with the purchase, for the price I paid.
