Great Laptop for Everyday Usage

I am still getting used to this laptop and so far I don't have any issues. Internet connectivity works and the camera does too. By the way it doesn't come with the pen so don't expect it in the box. I will update my review if I come across any problems in the near future.

You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you ever need additional help with your Lenovo computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

The screen and sound quality are pretty great. However, i would point out that my screen will occasionally flicker at the top and/or bottom. Other than that, its lightweight, easy to carry around, and perfect for my needs. Battery lasts a long time too.

I love them both and prefer the 15.6"! Quick to start up, navigate, and works perfectly for my needs. Battery life is great, I can go a whole day on a full charge unless I'm on a lot of zoom meetings. Compact, light, and travels well. I wish computer power cords were different, they are all so bulky. I primarily run a lot of apps and use MS Office.

It have two more USB Type C (one is actually power slot, so only 1 is available), but you need an adapter for regular uses. This is cumbersome. Same with HDMI. You need an adapter. I hate adapters because they become loose very often and cause connectivity problems. This is the only drawback I now see.

This laptop was really nice and fast. Right when I first bought it I noticed that the battery was really bad. The most it lasted me was about 5-6 hours depending on what I did. I should’ve returned it ever since I noticed that but I wanted to give it a chance. Then later, I noticed that the camera didn’t work anymore. I’ve used the camera for many Zoom lectures, but all of a sudden the screen was black every time I would turn on the camera. Besides the camera and battery, the rest was fine. Fans weren’t loud unless you had so many tabs open or was using something heavy. The fans weren’t bad though which I loved.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga C740-14 model number 81TC000JUS, ships with a 4CELL_51WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 13 hours of battery life, depending on the work the device is performance. If you are only getting 5 to 6 hours of battery life, first, be sure you have not turned on Battery Conservation Mode. This power management option only charges the battery to 60-percent capacity and should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. If you are not using the Battery Conservation Mode, but still only get 3 to 4 hours of battery life, then, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Regarding the operation of the webcam, there is a manual Privacy Shutter on the Yoga C740-14, be sure this Privacy Shutter is open before trying to operate the webcam. Speakers are tinny at high volume though. On sale it is a great choice, otherwise I'd like a ryzen 5/7 or i7 in it for the price of 800-850

I could not be more pleased with my Yoga C740 Laptop. It's features are incredible for the price, touch -screen, intel Core i5 and great memory as well as a solid state drive. The 14" screen is crystal clear. It is lightweight and does everything I had hoped and more. It reeks of high quality.
