Fast with a great screen and popping graphics. The finger touch unlock is sweet for ease of access and security. Lenovo adds their model to model file transfer which almost instantly switched my new computer to a replica of my old laptop. Additionally my old laptop made it 14 years on the go and I have no doubt this new Lenovo will do the same.

It's sleek, super fast, and plenty of memory. I looked at several models from different vendors before deciding on this one. I believe it had the best overall value; plenty of memory in an SSD, fast processor, plenty of RAM, and all under $1000. Great job by Lenovo, for sure!

So far, so good. The application boots up quickly and runs smoothly. Display is bright and colors are nice. The tablet mode with a pressure sensitive stylus is pretty great for digital painting (I use a Wacom bamboo). I do wish it had some kind of prop to be able to keep it at a 45 degree angle while drawing, but overall, I’m happy with my purchase.

You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you ever need additional help with your Lenovo computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

It runs so fast, there’s no lag. It has all of the software I needed for my classes, the webcam is nice and clear. For the price I feel like it feels like a pretty luxurious laptop. I really like that you can fold it back so you can read on it or draw or whatever you’re into. Overall I’m very impressed and use it everyday.

It's replacing a Samsung 7 spin that I absolutely loved, but both drives consecutively and inexplicably gave up the ghost. Everything works as expected considering the specs, but with one unanticipated pro and two unanticipated cons. I will not list additional pros or cons as they are either reasons I chose this laptop and should be expected, or were shortcomings that I knew of going into the purchase. Pro -The first time I used the laptop to consume media, I was really impressed with the speakers. I am by no means an audiophile, never taking sound into account during purchase, and all previous laptops/tablets have suited my needs well enough. However, this laptop impresses me with it's wide sound stage and excellent balance. Cons -I hate this keyboard. I have never made so many typing errors in my life. Although you get satisfying audio response while typing, the keys feel, I don't know...."squishy?" -The cooling system. Sometimes under normal use the laptop will get quite hot. So the fan kicks on with its usually-but-not-always-present high-pitched whine. And sometimes the fans rev up into what I can only refer to as an "aggressive" state (oddly, this typically occurs right after the laptop goes into sleep mode and doesn't seem to coincide with times when the laptop is noticeably hot to the touch). The cons are pretty annoying to me but were not worth the hassle of a return during pandemic and didn't truly become evident until after I had installed all my software and transfer my files. When this laptop comes due for a replacement, no tears will be shed.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga C740-15 ships with a standard QWERTY keyboard with 10-key numeric pad. You can manually control the cooling of your Yoga C740-15 by using the Lenovo Q-Control. You can use Lenovo Q-Control to manually control fan performance: ( Fn + Q ) option to change the fan. If the fan is spooling up RPMs while the workload is low, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software may cause the workload to increase, thereby causing the fan to spool up. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.
almost the perfect laptop

If there is a flaw at all--it is too minor to mention..somehow the page up and page down buttons are half the size of the other buttons..2 fit into the space of 1 regular size button. small thing and easy to overlook. secondly...this thing is HEAVY. you wanted 16 inches, get ready to hold 16 inches with 2 hands....BUT here are the perks to the larger version. the bigger one...gets a full keypad...it gets a bigger battery and you get 2 USB A ports on right side..the smaller 14 inch one gets just 1 port...also you get the 500 nits (super bright screen). There is no way I can not give this computer a 5, thank God it is good. Lenovo, overall is good. all 4 of my devices I have geen satisfied with

Well, I have been buying in the $350 range of several other manufacturers' laptops over the past 10 years. They have always been, "Eh! Okay." - they did what I needed. Slowly, most of the time, and connectivity was an issue a lot of the time. Well, with this current pandemic situation, I have been needing to use online meetings a lot. My two 5 year old laptops were just not cutting it! When there were more than 2 people on the conference, video and audio reminded me of a couple of "trips" I took back in the 70's! Strobing, slurring, static, and choppiness! I told my wife that I had had it - I got online and researched (from my desktop) current laptops and their capabilities. Wow! This Lenovo Yoga C740 seemed to be a lot of bang for the buck! Now, it wasn't the bottom of the line, $350 machine I've been used to using, but it was only half as much as the Pentium processor laptop I bought back in the 1990's! I got it set up very quickly. (Thank you, Lenovo, for not installing all of the worthless low end software packages I've gotten used to having to go in and uninstall before getting a new computer up and running right!) I installed my preferred antivirus & malware protection, set up my preferred browser and email, turned on Office 365, tied it to my current account, and installed a few different pieces of software that I need for video conferencing, accounting, and inventory management, and I was DONE! First video conference was AMAZING! Bright, clear video and crisp, in-sync audio! People said it sounded like I was sitting in the room with them, as opposed to in a 55 gallon drum across the room like before! The tablet mode isn't of much use to me, but I see my wife using it almost exclusively. I gotta tell you - the difference this Lenovo and my previous laptops from other manufacturers is like night and day! Thanks for a great product, simple and bloat free set-up, and very good value for my hard earned dollar!

The made a mistake and gave me a damaged laptop, I had to return and pick up at another BestBuy location, the return process was quite the pain, but it was totally worth it to have this incredible laptop with me. Fingerprint option is amazing to have, starts immediately and I use it for some games and work. The tablet option is sooo nice. I would've like for it to come with hdmi and more USB ports, also a micro SD slot but it's okay. Colors spot on and sound oh wow! I don't care much about the camera quality, but I think Lenovo could improve this... It is not really that good. Quite blurry actually. Anyways, I've had it so far 3 days and the battery has been the best I've ever had in a laptop. Had videos running while playing games and did not disappoint, only had to charge it once, this feature will definitely be of use when I'm working from the airport! Do not fall for the Lenovo i7 as one of the bestbuy stores tried to drag me in, yeah they say it's newer but it's so boring and did not care for it at all, plus the reviews on that model are pretty bad. Anyways, I ❤️♥️ Lenovo Yoga C740. By the way, I read 65% of the reviews before I made a purchase decision, I'm not just any buyer. :)

I am still discovering all kinds of things it will do. Currently my only complaint is (and it could be I haven't found the fix) is although you can turn the mouse pad off you have to do it every time the computer wakes up or you turn it on. loving the touch screen, having a few glitches with using a mouse and occasionally the pointer disappears and I have to restart the computer. Again I suspect I am hitting something that is turning off the visual pointer.

Regarding turning the Touchpad off using the HotKey at the F6 position on your keyboard, the default is always on, so when you restart your computer it will return to the fault, ON position. You can also turn off the Touchpad in Settings. About the pointer/cursor disappearing, this sounds like the pointer is set to turn off while typing. This was the best laptop to meet those needs. It has performed just as I expected. Bonus feature for me were the tablet conversion and touch screen, which I’m using more than I expected I would. The lighted keyboard is also a nice bonus.

Picked this model for its larger display for working at home during Covid 19. It makes working from home much easier on my eyes, because of the 500 nit display with HDR. This computer also has a 10th gen i7 processor, 12 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD. What more could you ask for in this price range.
