Loud and Constant Fan Noise
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fans kick in even for light workload (browsing/20% CPU), and stay on. The noise is high pitched and quite loud. Turning on 'intelligent cooling' (via Fn+Q) seems to solve it for a short time, but eventually the fans turn back on. Otherwise, the machine is fast and responsive.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the fan noise from your Lenovo C940-14 4K model, even with Intelligent Cooling enabled. If the fan over-rides your manual settings within Intelligent Cooling, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will increase the system workload and require the fan to spool up to higher RPMs. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Display issues
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quality control issues. Looks and functions great for a year and started having display issues after warranty expired. Screen will shut off, requiring a restart. Latest updates and drivers installed but does not address the display randomly shutting off. This is my 3rd Lenovo coming from a Flex15 and Yoga 920. All 3 have the same display issues. The displays are clean and free of any dust and finger prints as I do not use the touch screen what so ever. Tried all kinds of steps from various forums with no success. Ran all default settings (Chrome or other software not installed) after factory default and problems continue. Definitely staying away from Lenovo.

immediate broke
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After buying in Feb., I noticed that if I hit a tiny flag on the task bar at the bottom, that the message said "plugged in, not charging". Finally got that fixed on the phone with Geek Squad, but a day later the message came back -- now that I learned out to fix it.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model has a Battery Saver function. Once the battery is fully charged, but is still plugged in, to prolong the life of the battery, the computer will stop charging the battery and let it drain. This will make the Battery Charging indicator to display, PLUGGED IN NOT CHARGING. Let the battery drain to 90-percent and it should begin charging the battery again. If the issue continues, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support for help with your specific issue at: 877-453-6686.

Lenovo is OK
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.original Lenovo laptop was a lemon, Lenovo did nothing to correct, sent in for repairs. It was one day before problem was back. I returned to Best Buy. So far OK. I did buy Geek Squad due to Lenovo's complete lack of ability to resolve problems.

Lenovo Yoga support experience
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this PC for a new consulting biz that I was starting and did not do much with it until Dec. Purchased docking and other accessories to customize. After 2 months of almost daily use, the “power” USB-C input had to be unplugged and reconnected each time the saver took hold. Now, a mere 5 months after purchase and 4 months after regular use, the operating system crashed and need to have it restored to factory default settings and then restore from backup. Signed up for Lenovo Premier services and they were very unsupportive and had a total disregard for my issues. Not helpful or friendly. Stay away from Lenovo!!

Pretty Laptop, Webcam Broken out of box.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the age of Zoom, this was a decent computer for the price, but shop around and you can find better deals than what they sell it for new. However, even buying it at Best Buy, the webcam on the computer doesn't work, which is problematic for the amount of conferencing now happening online. Drivers have all been updated, all updates installed, and still webcam doesn't work. Disappointed overall.

Camera issues
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop because I needed a computer that was reliable. My school district decided to go with distance learning, so I needed a computer with a great camera to do online instruction with my students. The camera stopped working after the 5th day of instruction. We talked with Best Buy Geek Squad Over the phone and they tried to fix it remotely. When then took it to a local Best Buy and they were not able to fix it either. As a result, we returned the laptop and purchased another product.

Touch screen died after 3 months
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No issues with this computer at all until the touch screen function evaporated a few days ago. Then I found that the touch screen driver is missing and Lenovo's technical support has no option to replace it. I will have to send my computer to them for repair. The touch screen was a major reason for my interest in this computer. I have also learned that Lenovo laptops are known for having display problems. This was my first Lenovo purchase, and it will likely be my last.

It is possible that resetting the computer back to original factory settings may fix the issue you describe. Here is a link to instructions for resetting a Windows 10 computer back to original settings:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12415. If you can not properly boot the computer, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom left of the device, right near the bottom left corner of the cooling vent on the bottom device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Never buy lenovo
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After about 6 months the device started having issues. Biggest one was screen malfunction (which i found out is common with this device). Lenovo held my computer in repair for over a month then said itll be at least a few more months before they could fix it.. after dealing with the worst customer service for weeks I finally received a refund. I loved the laptop at first, its a shame the products are knowlingly faulty. Never buy lenovo. (No fault of bestbuy- an employee actually warned me not to buy this brand)

Repeated screen failures. Never again.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for 16 months. The screen began flickering and then totally fading to black two months ago. Grateful that the GSP replaced the display twice, but it went out within 10 minutes of me opening it up at home. I'm an independent contractor and this computer has completely screwed me for my projects. I will never buy from Lenovo again.

Audio Issue
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my daughter's college remote class. It was a great laptop when I bought it and she was happy. After 2 months of use, its audio stopped working. Internal speaker or microphone stopped working. She took it to Best Buy twice. They could not fix it. They would not replace the item. So she called Lenovo, waited for 2 hours on the line and disconnected because they were closed for the day.

Track pad and touchscreen unresponsive, got to start up with external mouse. Then no drivers for network adapter or any other devices. No way to connect to the internet to try installing or updating drivers. Reset 3 times did nothing. Not paying this much for a good looking brick nor am I inclined to need to have it fixed on the same day I received it. Returning. Bought a Samsung instead.

||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Skip this one - don't let its looks fool you. I spent so much time with Geek Squad trying to get this fixed. They finally realized that there was a hardware failure somewhere, so after less than a year they're trashing it and crediting me for a new laptop - and I won't purchase this one again. It had all the issues that previous owners have talked about with the screen flickering, etc. Also, the keyboard is mush.
