Posted .The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model can be used either on battery power or plugged in while charging. This model ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Good for the first 6 months, now trouble
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for my wife for her birthday. She was really happy with it and continues to thank me for it because she likes it so much. However, she isn't happy with is the fan runs loud and crazy while charging. Recently, the camera, fingerprint sensor, and bluetooth stopped working. Not sure if that is hardware failure or something else. If that gets repaired under warranty, she'll be back to enjoying this 100%.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that your wife is having issues with her Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model. With regard to the fan running during charging, this is normal, especially if the laptop is still being used during the charging process. Your wife can use Lenovo Q-Control to manually control fan and system performance: ( Fn + Q ) option to change the fan by undervolting the processor. With regard to the other issues with the camera, fingerprint reader and Bluetooth, be sure that the computer has the latest version of Windows 10 installed. Then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The key board had a great feel and the computer was fast. The problem was every time I loaded chrome it would not stay connected to sites. They would drop within 5 minutes. This happened even after putting it back to factory settings and stating over. I thought it was me and I gave it to our IT guy, same problem. I returned it.

Best Laptop I've ever owned!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited a few days to see how this new Lenovo laptop performed before I decided to write my review. First off, let me just say I tried to get by with the cheaper model with the FHD screen which is jut 1080p... having owned 2 other 4K Lenovo computers in the house, I realized my mistake early on and returned it a day later to bring this sweet baby home instead. So, let's start with the monitor. It's hard to beat a 4K screen. I also have a 15.6 version of this laptop that is a few years old.. so of course, it's heavier, but still a major powerhouse on it's own. It was the best they made at the time. Still an i7 and fast. 2 years in and it works perfect. Kudos Lenovo! Now, lets talk about the shell of the computer. I LOVE the Mica finish! I thought it was going to be Silver like my other larger 4K home laptop. I bought this one to take with me to work because of the 14 inch monitor and half the weight. Super thin and gorgeous body. The Mica turned out to be a richer color than my silver model. It has a touch of gold to the silver and it's own beautiful color. When you lift the lid, it's instantly ON.. I like that. This model has the most impressive spec on paper and I have to say,, it's worth every penny. After having the lesser model to compare it to for a day.. I now see where the money went... SPEED! When I put my finger on the reader, it recognizes it at least twice as fast and flipping between pages or uploads is greatly sped up! Speakers are the best on the market for a small laptop. Full rich sound. It was one of the selling points of my other Lenovo. I was concerned about the battery life since the FHD vs. the UHD appeared to have a better score, but again, my concerns were proven wrong. It charges up super fast with the lighting bolt port and lasts for more hours that I will ever need it to before returning home to charge it again. One of my favorite things about this laptop is it's keyboard.. I'm super picky about keyboards and this one is my favorite. The keys are super responsive and I can type so much faster on this one with greater accuracy. I must mention that I also tried the HP Spectre 4K $999. on sale and because of that awful keyboard, I also had to return it after only 1 day. I mentioned earlier this one is super lite, Fits nicely in my work backpack and I have ordered a Lenovo sleeve for it from the company. It work beautifully in tablet mode and easy to hold. I love that the screen has a super thin bezel,, so it's almost edge to edge lit screen. Very little wasted space here. All in all.. the best laptop I've ever owned. Looking forward to many years of productivity and fun on this bad boy!

Solid Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was between this and the Dells 2 in 1 13" with pen What Dell had that the lenovo didn't have were the extra ports and micro sd card slot. Purchased both to try them out side by side. Lenovo had a much better build feel, solid. Size were about the same with Lenovo being a bit longer due to the screen size being wider. Sound was so much better on the Lenovo and the colors seem to pop so much more. Keyboard was also bigger on the Lenovo probably due to the wider footprint being a 14" vs 13" screen. Dell's keyboard was tolerable, typical cramped style that you see normally on laptops that size. The Dell pen takes a AAAA battery so you would need to carry a spare perhaps. Lenovo's pen charges in it's holster. I thought I liked Dell's pen placement, but when you flip it to tablet mode, there's a chance of the pen being knocked out as there's only the magnet to keep it from falling out. Lenovo keeps it tucked behind, but with this design, it's why there's no ports on the right side. Dell also missed integrating a privacy screen for it's video camera. With such a narrow bezel, it would not accommodate the typical add on privacy screen that slides across. Minor, but more and more are incorporating this privacy feature which in the past I used post it note or painters tape. Lenovo has a built in privacy screen. The biggest issue with Dell though was the constant fan and overheating that the laptop did even at rest with nothing loaded. Just turning the power on had the fan running and heat generated. Out of the box, this should not be the case. The Lenovo on the other hand was silent, remained cool, even when the fan did kick on, heat was very minimal. Yes, Dell was a bit cheaper $150, but Lenovo's build quality, sound, pen design and the fact it remains cool was a win. Also the surface of the Lenovo hid the finger prints. Something that Dell's surface magnified. I'm returning the Dell and keeping the Lenovo for $1,445. Yes a bit expensive, but cheaper than macbook for the processor, memory and storage. Wish Lenovo had more ports and card reader, but figure I will need a dongle anyway, so I've already purchased an all in one travel hub that has ports for multiple monitors, network port, card reader and additional usb ports. I'd stay away from the Dell model due to the consistent overheating and fans constantly running right out of the box. I was looking forward to Dell's mobile syncing software that links your phone to your laptop, which Lenovo doesn't have. Lenovo's build just seems so much more premium, sound is much better. I like Lenovo's pen storage and design better, but that's more a personal preference. Two misses is not having a card reader slot or more ports. The other big one is battery life for UHD model is about 5-6 hrs on light load, heavy load I image this will actually be a lot less. So anyone expecting all day performance will be disappointed, hence the 4 star rating. If you choose the lesser resolution monitor, battery life may be extended. Not sure if there's any laptop that has truly all day battery life with these similar specs. I was hoping the new processors had better battery management. Using with MS Office 2019 and Visio, Adobe Lightroom, Snagit, Camtasia, malwarebytes, ccleaner. BTW, removed Mcafee.

It is possible that resetting your computer back to original factory settings will fix the keyboard issue you describe. Here is a link to instructions for resetting your Windows 10 computer back to original settings:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/recovery-options-in-windows-10-31ce2444-7de3-818c-d626-e3b5a3024da5. If you some reason you can not properly boot the computer, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom left side of the device, right near the bottom left corner of the cooling port on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have the computer reset, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10.
