What Else Will Stop Working?
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never had so many problems with a computer. Yes, it is beautiful. However, taking it to Geek Squad every 6 months is not worth it. First it was the speaker. Now it is the Power button.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having WiFi connectivity issues with your Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model number 81Q90041US. This model ships with the latest 6G Wide-Range/High-Speed, 2x2 802.11AX WiFi capability. Be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer, then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to this latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. Nice laptop until it died on me

Too bad the motherboard failed after 1 year and 2 months (right after it was out of warranty). Will never buy a Lenovo again.

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is unable to run zoom or any other video call for more than a few minutes. Posted .Hello, we are sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with Zoom on your Lenovo C940 4k 14" laptop model # 81Q90041US. Your machine should not be behaving in this manner. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC” Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on-screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you had issues with two Lenovo Yoga C940-14 models. It is possible that resetting the computer back to original Windows 10 factory settings will clear any issues and also reset the battery. Since you can not boot the computers, these systems are equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom left side of the device, right near the left edge of the cooling vent on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have the computers reset to original settings, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. 5 Stars not because its perfect.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a person who is very particular about my tech devices and appreciate quality and end user experience. I am always trying the latest and greatest and usually have had Macbooks but always trying newer top quality Windows units. This unit is absolutely hands down the best all around 2 in 1 or laptop that exists currently in my opinion. As far as design/look I give it a 9.5 out of 10. The only thing I don't care for is the offset rear edge and the slanted front. I would make them both even if possible. I understand the need for the rounded back edges so I accept that. Design function 9.5 out of 10 I would put the pen in a location besides the rear to make a little easier to get to. As far as ports I think its perfect for a light 2 in 1 EXCEPT no SD Card slot... A Micro slot would bring it to an almost perfect level. The only other thing I would change is the size I would like a 13" and have it a little smaller and a little lighter... But for a 14 it is perfect size and weight. I have been a Mac OS user and still am on a daily basis and have always hated but tolerated windows. After setting Windows up properly and hiding certain things and changing settings I have got to a level that I actually enjoy windows 10. I still prefer Mac OS but its really really close now I would say 55 Mac 45 windows. Using dark mode in windows, the pen functionality, the speed of this SSD and 10th gen processor, the onboard graphics (plays old games good enough) for occasional entertainment... The solid body of the unit, the versatility of folding the screen in all different use situations just straight out beats Macbooks for me. I love final cut pro which is a big reason I like mac os besides the unity of the operating system menus etc... But this Macbook actually has me trying to learn premiere pro in hopes of transitioning to windows completely. Long story short if 14" screen size is your desire this is a near perfect machine. I would love this exact machine but in 13" to be a little more compact, and add a SD card and i'm a happy picky guy. The keyboard, Screen, Battery, Touchpad and smoothness of the operating system is the best combination I have seen in any machine to date. Macbooks don't have touchscreen, they don't have pen support (I love taking quick notes) and they dont fold back to a nice compact unit for drawing or compact media watching. I just had the new Macbook 16 which was a VERY nice unit and solid performer and capable to use as a basic gaming laptop also but I am just sick of being stuck to just a laptop form factor. Swinging the screen back and in all different positions allows you to use more comfortable in any position, laying on couch, in a chair in bed, in a car.... Just can't be done as well with a laptop. If you are not buying a laptop to play the latest games (but can play older or less demanding very well) and plan to use your computer for pretty much everything else and do it well and appreciate a good build quality this cannot be beat currently (yes over spectre x360 10th gen and the latest XPS 13) They both have SD cards and are the 13" form I desire yet I still choose this unit over both. I don't like the Quality control issues on the spectre people are having, the white diamond pattern on the screen and the angular look of it other than that it is a very nice unit... and the new XPS is a very close 2nd for me... but it doesn't have the integrated pen on this C940 or the unitized build all aluminum (but is very good build quality) I hope this helps your decision

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model. The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model ships with a manual Privacy Shutter over the webcam. Be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. If the Privacy Shutter is not the issue updating to the latest version of Windows 10, then updating all of the BIOS files and drivers may fix the webcam issue and fix your WiFi connectivity issue as well. Absolutely disappointing.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, this laptop was definitely one of the best laptops on paper. It had the lately Intel processor, had a very vibrant screen, a reputable speaker system, and a built in pen. It was almost perfect on paper, so I bought it, only to be very disappointed. 1. Battery- battery on this device was horrible. On the website, it was advertised to have at least 10 hour for the UHD model, however I only got 5 hours MAX. At first I thought this was a defect so i exchanged it with another one only to have the same problem. 2. The screen - The screen is very vibrant and pretty, especially with the UHD model. It was amazing until the first week, where the screen started to have random flickering and white screen flashes. What only seemed to be a random flicker that I thought wouldn't matter, it started to happen more frequently and for a longer duration. Instead of a flicker, it became a solid change for a good 5 seconds. 3. Heat - This laptop gets way too hot, even with the fan running. The heat that came out from this laptop has made the keyboard and touch pad stop working. All of a sudden, as I was typing, the keyboard and touch pad suddenly stopped working. I tried everything to make it work again but the only way it started working again was to let the computer cool down, which was to completely leave it alone, and not doing anything on it. Overall, I had high expectation for this laptop, but i was completely let down. Not planning on not buying Lenovo devices again.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K Model number, 81Q90041US, ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting only 5 hours of battery life, check to be sure that Battery Conservation Mode is turned off on your computer. This Power Management setting is to be used only if the computer is plugged in all the time. It prolongs overall internal battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode:
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Second, if Battery Conservation Mode is not turned on but you still are only getting 5 hours of battery life, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Regarding the screen flicker you describe, this is another indication that there is incompatible software installed on the computer. Once the incompatible software is removed, the screen flicker most likely will stop. Be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer, then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Regarding your computer running hot, this is one more indication that there is incompatible software installed on the computer, increasing the system workload. Uninstall the incompatible software and the system workload will return to normal. You can also manually control the cooling of your Yoga C940-14 4K model. You can use Lenovo Q-Control to manually control fan performance: ( Fn + Q ) option to change the fan.
