    Do Not Buy!

4 years ago I bought this computer for engineering school and was told this is a great "engineering" laptop. It worked well for a little bit. Not after long did I begin experiencing a number of issues. For no reason when you open the computer to sign it it will lock your keyboard and there is no way to fix it other than turning it off and on again, and sometimes simply turning it off and on is very fidgety. I have had to do a hard reset a number of times. One time I signed in and the computer all on its own opened up google chrome and put my laptop password in the search bar. This is of great concern that it is putting my passwords into google for absolutely no reason. The screen will flip upsidedown and sideways on its own depending on how you hold it (like a tablet) which is actually nice if it weren't for a number of touch-screen keyboard pop up glitches that will break your screen and the fact it's a 50/50 chance it will revert back to normal when you want it to. These are annoying glitches without cause and my software is up to date. There is virus software on my computer and I know my computer is clean. These software glitches should have been fixed by now. Not worth the $ to be constantly locked out of my own laptop for 4 years.

Do NOT buy a Lenovo product

    1. This is my second yoga replacement made by lenovo in 3 years. 2. Clearly, major quality issues (first one, repair could not open it to repair; second, came out twice--still not-lenovo sent a mother board and battery; tech replaced only the battery, not motherboard 3. I purchased next day on-site repair--in neither case did Lenovo come even close to meeting the next-day part 4. For many years, Lenovo was my go-to brand for laptops--never again (see their facebook page; I am not alone)

Terrible terrible product and service from Lenovo

Worst product ever. Ever since day 1 (November 2020) we've had the problem with the computer automatically switching in an out of tablet mode, task bar duplicating and taking over screen, and black screens. Lenovo had us take it to best buy to correct, but they were not able to resolve it. Lenovo had us send to them for service, and they sent it back loose in a box with no bubble wrap. Now the keyboard and mouse don't work at all. I called Lenovo back and it sounds like they are wanting to give us additional runaround. We've been dealing with this for going on 7 months now. Apparently this is not an isolated incident based on other reviews. We are just wanting a refund at this point and Lenovo refuses or is unable to resolve this issue. Do not buy!

Screen Flickering & Color Distortion - Be careful!

Hello: I've had the C940 for about 30 days now and am seeing this screen flickering and color distortion issue that is very annoying and appears intermittently. On researching it further, I've identified this forum topic and youtube video which is exactly my issue on the screen flickering as seen below: 1. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Lenovo-Yoga-C940-screen-glitches-flickering-flashing/m-p/5044566?page=1 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w3DBb_ZESY The Color issue is weird - I'll be watching a video and suddenly the web page will have distorted color schemes - almost as though it is not focused color any more. Please be careful before buying this product - I would love to give it more colors than just 1 if I can.

You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". Be aware!

Purchased the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 inch, in December. Finger print reader did not work well from the moment I started using the machine. Tried to return to Best Buy. Manager said I was 5 days over their return policy. Had purchased Lenovo premium care insurance, which covered multiple attempt's to repair the unit. After many month's of trying to repair the problem, I was finally approved for a new unit. The new and larger unit (15 inch model) came a few days ago and is working great. Thank you Lenovo which stood by there customer in the end.

Avoid this laptop at all costs.

Turned into a brick less than 2 years later. Before that happened: - Screen would flicker and distort - Transitioning from laptop to tablet mode wouldn't always switch the screen (it was just laptop mode with the whole thing folded...) - Would go to sleep and not be able to turn back on - Would shut off randomly Avoid this laptop at all costs.

Nice pc but fans too loud

Expected better quality and design from Lenovo. This PC has all the right specs BUT it's absolutely too loud. Even writing this review, the pc fans are whining, making my ears bleed. Try running a youtube video, and then the pc starts to howl like a hovercraft. I believe this is all just a symptom of new 10mm architecture processor, and first out to market. I expect bios changes will fix all this. But don't know if I'll keep this laptop around that long waiting for them.

The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 ships with the energy efficient Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor, with advanced power management. The Yoga C940-14 also has a superior cooling system, The Intelligent Cooling System, to keep the Yoga C940-14 running at optimum temperatures. At low workloads, the cooling system is so efficient, you will barely hear the fan run. If the fan on your Yoga C940-15 4K model is running all the time, first, be sure you have Intelligent Cooling turned on within the Lenovo Vantage Utility software. Second, be sure there is no software working in the background driving the workload up. You can use Task Manager to find out what programs are running in the background. Here is a link to instructions: https://it.toolbox.com/blogs/acitodg/how-to-find-hidden-programs-running-in-the-background-020615. The normal maximum operating temperature of the Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor is 100-degrees Celsius/212 degrees Fahrenheit. Here is a link to the SPEC sheet on the Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor. We recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support if you have additional questions at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

Be Very Careful with BestBuy's "Open Box" Products

    Posted .

Purchased it in "Open-Box Excellent – Certified" condition and got a laptop with flickering screen right out of the box. Discovered the installed Windows 10 version was not original when trying to reset the laptop. It seemed to be a heavily used and poorly refurbished laptop. Returned it.

I have this laptop for exactly one year now. Out of the box I got the firs isue with the sound bar. It will stop working without any notice. It seams it is a driver conflict. Recently, after the last windows update the touch screen stoped working and the pen acts crazy. I couldn't return it as I'm not a US resident and the warranty is not international.

I bought this laptop in October 2020. Initially everything worked well. It used to have trouble starting sometimes but it completely refused to start in March. Complete waste of money.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4 K model. It is possible that resetting your computer back to original factory settings will correct the issue you are having. Since you can no longer boot the computer normally, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom left side of the device, right near the bottom left corner of the cooling vent on the bottom of this device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo
