Superb laptop in all aspects - power, usability, looks, price. Excellent port selection. Although non-haptic, the touchpad is fantastic, very smooth. I looked at the new Dell Xps 16 too but its keys and power delivery were dealbreakers for me. The 9i 2024 has fantastic keys and solid power delivery. I chose function over form. I wanted the 64gb-4070-tidal teal version of this laptop but It's a shame that is only available in non-US markets (available in UK). Don't keep this laptop too long inside a car trunk (more than 2 hours), it will get hot fast especially in Texas heat.

This is a good premium laptop at a great price. Easily a strong, notably more affordable, competitor for MacBooks. The display and sound are amazing. It can handle relatively heavy workloads - digital art, video editing with multiple windows open. I haven't used it for gaming yet, but the specs are comparable with higher priced gaming laptops. It is heavy but is not the worst to carry, although right now I'm just using it at home near an outlet because... Battery life is pretty bad. I can't even take it to another area of the house for too long without having the charger handy. I've seen users saying they get around 2.5 hours on heavy workloads. I'm getting maybe 1.5. I will try some more tweaks to see if I can get more out of it, but it is super disappointing right now. This is my third Lenovo Yoga. It is not a traditional Yoga in that it is not a 2-in-1, but I almost never used that option, so the lack of it has zero impact for me. I do, however, have some other minor and less minor gripes about build and feature changes that are not necessarily dealbreakers, but do impact my experience and customary workflow: 1) No stylus and no active pen capabilities. This one is kinda huge for me and a perplexing choice because the touchscreen becomes unnecessary and almost pointless (remember, it's not 2-in-1). I tried to work around it with a capacitive stylus, but they don't work with all programs, so it wasn't helpful for my primary needs. 2) No fingerprint sensor. Not at all a fan of the face recognition, so I'm left with only pin access as an option. 3) I wish the trackpad was "clickier". It has a silent, springy response when pressed, which almost feels like it requires more effort. Even with the above changes, I would have given this laptop 5-stars, if it hadn't been for the battery life.

      Hey Allee,

Thank you for choosing Lenovo for a third time and for sharing your feedback with us.

We'd like to work with you to improve your experience by adjusting what's possible with your system. Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in powerful laptops like this Yoga, that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the NVIDIA Control Panel application. You can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even more power conservation.

Please feel free to reach out to us should you have any questions or need for further assistance.

I’ve been using it for the last two months give or take. I’ve tried heavy autocad software, watched movies and used it for productivity. It’s a machine in a thin and elegant body. For the moment I can’t complain, it offers everything I was looking for. The only downside to this power monster is the battery which is not that good, but you can never have it both ways. It’s the price you pay for having much power and versatility in a thin body. Besides the battery I have no other complaints. And of all the laptops I’ve used, this one deffinetly has one of the best speakers I’ve seen in a laptop. Beautiful crisp sound even at its highest setting. If you can get past the battery life not being great, it’s an awesome laptop that I would recommend 10 out of 10 times. And believe me I was looking for something with good battery life, it’s something I look for even with my phones. But overall it’s a great buy if it’s within budget. Great product, great power, awesome speakers and beautiful screen.

I have tried and returned several laptops in the past few months. Everything from the G14, G16, HP spectre, other lenovo variants. This has by far been my favorite laptop. The number pad and offset track pad took a little time to get used to, but its not a big deal now. The mini led screen is wonderful and the closest you will get to an OLED display. It's nice to not have to go through the hoops of having the taskbar auto hide and running a black background to prevent burn in like most do on OLED panels. Lenovo did a good job optimizing the intel core ultra 9. The battery isn't the greatest, however I run this laptop plugged in majority of the time using the conservation mode, which limits the charge to 80% and then passes through to a/c power, bypassing the battery completely. The pass through is something that none of the other laptops support, the G14/G16 allows for a maximum charge limit to 80% but does not bypass the battery and run off a/c voltage. HP does not offer any type of battery protection via software. Another limiting factor for the G14/G16 is you essentially need to install 3rd party software to get the laptop to run how you want it to. The track pad is phenomenal compared to others, except for the Spectre, which has a nice haptic track pad. I have not been a fan of previous track pads from lenovo, however, this trackpad is really nice, very quiet and does not have any annoying spring/clicking noise associated with older lenovo laptops. I use this laptop primarily for internet browsing and ECU tuning. Laptop stays nice and cool and rarely do the fans kick on during normal task. Overall this is a solid laptop for normal content consumption/creator/and dev and I highly recommend it to anyone that's looking to go the non-oled route.

Wanted to get a notebook PC that had enough power to edit videos, quickly. I really wanted a machine that had the NVIDIA RTX 4090, but I didn't want to spend $4K for a notebook PC, right now. When you compare the specs, the 4090 is more than twice as fast/performance as the 4060. I think i should have chose a machine with the 4080. I lloked at the Legion series of notebooks, but i didnt want to spend $3K or more. So, I wish it had at least the 4070, and I see the newer models have the 4070 in them. Oh, I do not like the keyboard layout. It will take some time to get used to. Oh, oh, I do love the display. The 1,200 nits is NICE! Oh, if you use an external monitor, you will have to get USB-C Thunderbolt cables. You can't use regular USB-C cable.

This laptop packs a powerful punch for its size

This laptop packs a powerful punch is a smaller form factor. I have owned a lot of laptops. Depending on my work, I use a Surface Pro X, Yoga Pro, and Dell Latitude. I have also a Dell G15 gaming laptop. This Yoga Pro 9i is my favorite of all the laptops. I purchased this laptop because it had a powerful Nvidia RTX4060. This would allow me to do video editing from anywhere, without having to carry a laptop the size of a boat anchor. There are a lot of pros with this laptop, as well as a few cons. Pros The screen display is amazing. Great colors, clear display, and a large screen. This makes it great for editing photos and videos. Except when editing videos, this laptop has very good battery life. I’ve seen a few people complain that it’s so-so, but that depends on what you are doing. My G15’s battery drained very quickly, but the Yoga Pro battery gives me about six hours when using video intensive activities. High end video cards are power hogs, so video editing will drain a battery. The same is true for graphic intensive games. It could have better battery life, but that would add to the weight of the laptop – which I don’t want. I bought this Yoga Pro because I wanted a good balance between power and portability. The large 1TB SDD drive is a big plus. There is also an option to include a second drive, but I haven’t needed to upgrade. 32GB of RAM is another important selling point. The price of the Yoga Pro 9i makes it one of the best values on the market. For what you are paying, there is a lot of bang for the buck. This laptop is one of my favorite purchases to date. But there are a few cons. Cons The RTX4060 video card is a huge power drain when in full use. I use this laptop with a portable docking station and two portable monitors. My dock has a 100 watt output, which is more than enough to charge the laptop while powering it and the monitors. That is until I begin editing videos at 4k. This is where the issue will arise. It sometimes pulls more than the dock can handle, unless I also plug in the laptop’s power adapter. The docking station itself struggles to keep up, and will shut down the monitors. So if I plan to edit videos, I have to run the laptop off the Lenovo power brick. If running off the laptop’s power adapter, during video intensive processes, it will still draw from the battery when the power consumption is too much for the adapter to keep up with. Lenovo should have included a more powerful power adapter. Having said this, it’s important to look at what is being demanded from a smaller laptop. This is a lot of power packed into a reasonably small laptop. My G15 weighs twice as much, which makes it much less portable. The Yoga Pro has a desktop grade video card stuffed into a laptop. When I look at it realistically, this is an amazing laptop with a low price point. For everyday use, this is the perfect laptop. No problems and it is power efficient with the Ultra processor. When I do video editing, I know the power adapter is required. As long as I take this into account, no issue. I am very happy with the performance of this laptop. Everyday use is flawless. When I am ready to video edit, I add the power adapter and editing is flawless. As to editing videos, I am impressed with the Yoga Pro 9i’s performance. I usually edit in 4k, and the playback during editing is smooth. The rendering speed is good. I have a more powerful video setup in my desktop, but I do most of my editing on this laptop for convenience. I highly recommend this laptop. I am rating it a 5 star only because the power adapter limitation isn’t a big deal.

I got this to compare with a 2023 Slim Pro 9i and decided to keep the Yoga Pro 9i. Pros: -Stunning 3D-like mini-led screen. It brings out details I've never seen with amazing depth perception. -It's quieter during gaming than the 2023 model, with a better GPU and better battery life. -Audio quality (using headphones) is far superior to the Slim Pro 9i, which to my ears sounded too bright and hallow. -Can upgrade internal SSD with the extra slot. Cons: -There is some mini-led blooming using HDR, but I found non-HDR is excellent with no blooming, so only occasionally use HDR. -IR camera cannot be turned off easily to protect eye health. Only way I was able to do that was to uninstall Vantage, and in Device Manager, disable the System Interface Foundation V2 Device, and uninstall the Lenovo Intelligent Services (both in System Devices). Each time I reboot, I have to uninstall Intelligent Services, but otherwise it stays off. I verified this using a cell phone camera in selfie mode to view see that the IR camera was off. The IR camera is on the far right of the camera array on the top of the mini-led panel. -Memory isn't upgradeable, but 32G is sufficient for most apps. If it wasn't for this issue with the Lenovo IR camera, I'd give this laptop 5 stars.

Regarding the issue with the IR camera, we understand your concern and want you to know that we have implemented IR technology that is safe to use, only being on consistently when activated upon sign in if facial recognition login is set up. By turning off the related features in Lenovo Vantage and Windows Hello, this should solve the issue. I don’t write reviews, but this laptop deserves one. Fast, smooth, and beautiful best describes this machine. The only drawback is battery life, set in eco mode you might get 4-5 hours at best. But this is a lot of power in a sleek package. I’m a mechanical engineer and it handles anything I’ve tried to throw at it with ease. The screen is absolutely incredible, so smooth and beautiful, I find myself staring at it mesmerizing how clear and accurate the colors are. Not to mention it can get blindingly bright. Lenovo did an excellent job one this beautiful piece of aluminum.

Great build quality, beautiful screen, snappy performance, and quite good graphics for such a thin build. Touchpad is very large and a bit overly sensitive, and the OS had close to 300 processes running out of the box. After cleaning out some Lenovo bloatware I got it down to 170

I love the graphics and memory capacity on this laptop. The touchscreen isn't bad either. I constantly use this for graphic design and creating videos for both work and home. This is my second Lenovo after having the previous one for over 6 years, without any complaints. They seem to hold up a little better structurally than other ones that I've had. This computer (Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16” MiniLED) has a really good feeling keyboard. Many faces (not all) appear excessively red, so colors may be oversaturated at times. Battery life not very good. But overall, an attractive and quality-seeming machine. My feedback is based on a few weeks of use; nothing heavy duty.

I got this laptop for college about 8 months ago and so far, its been great at handling everything and even able to play most games at 144+ fps. Only downside is the battery life, I get around 3-4 hours of use with light to moderate tasks like coding, web browsing, and watching videos. I've tried all the tricks to improve the battery life but I'm not able to push it past 4 hours. If battery life is not much of a problem for you, everything else about this laptop is amazing, especially at this price range

Lenovo knocked it out of the park with this one! Fantastic mini-led screen. It gets very bright and the resolution is very good considering this is not quite 4k. If you edit photos and videos (which I do) the experience is a pleasure. The speakers sound terrific! Almost as good as MacBook Pro. The bass is decent for a laptop and you can change the soundstage to compliment movies, music, games and more. Im not a big gamer but when im ready to kick back i like to play a few games sometimes and this Lenovo did surprisingly well. While this is NOT a gaming laptop this has an rtx 4060 with a TDP of 100 watts. 100 watts for this type of laptop is quite a bit especially when you have the new Dell XPS 16 with a rtx 4060 running half the TDP wattage for more than $1000 more in cost. For a casual gamer this will work great. Even AAA titles wirk well with lower settings. The keyboard is very easy to type on and it has 1.5mil of travel so it hads to the comfort of typing. For the price of $1899 this is laptop is a great value! I highly recommend!

      Hey RowenaB,

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that the battery life of your Yoga Pro 9i fell short of what you desire. We'd like to help by working with you on another way to improve battery life and provide some context on why the system draws as much power from the battery as it does.

First, for insight, as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and with the Yoga Pro 9i, it was designed to deliver unbridled performance in a thinner and lighter design. Laptops like this with high-powered processors like the Core Ultra 9, H series CPU and graphics cards, like the RTX 4060 in this system, there can be a lot of power draw on the battery when unplugged.

If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the NVIDIA Control Panel app, under a feature called NVIDIA Optimus. Another method that you can also take advantage of is the keyboard shortcut, Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even more power conservation.

We hope that this information helps you. Please feel free to reach out to us should you have any questions or need assistance.

I’ve been using the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16” (Ultra 9, RTX 4060, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD) for a little while now, and it’s honestly one of the most impressive laptops I’ve owned. The 3.2K Mini LED touchscreen is absolutely stunning—bright, sharp, and vibrant with deep contrast that makes both creative work and media consumption a pleasure. Performance-wise, this laptop is a beast. The Intel Core Ultra 9 paired with 32GB of RAM and the RTX 4060 handles heavy multitasking, content creation, and even demanding games without breaking a sweat. The large 1TB SSD also ensures lightning-fast boot times and plenty of storage for projects. Build quality is excellent—sleek, sturdy, and premium in the Luna Grey finish. Despite its power, it still manages to stay relatively portable for a 16” machine, and the keyboard and trackpad feel smooth and comfortable for long sessions. Battery life is solid for such a powerful laptop, though heavy tasks like gaming or video rendering will drain it faster (as expected). The fans can get audible under load, but they keep the system running cool. Overall, the Yoga Pro 9i strikes a great balance between professional-grade performance, stunning display quality, and elegant design. Perfect for creatives, professionals, and even casual gamers who want power in a sleek form factor.
