Regarding your issue with battery not meeting expectations – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in laptops like this Yoga Pro 9i, that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards and high refresh rate displays. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the NVIDIA Control Panel, enabling you to choose the GPU working mode. You can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even more power conservation.

Nice desktop replacement, that never sleeps.

The problem is that regardless of how you set the power management it continues to wake up from any movement in front of the camera even when you turn the camera off. This happened on three of the same laptops after setting up facial recognition, that could actually be a Windows problem. Other than that nuisance, it's a great laptop that's well worth the money.

Regarding your screen waking upon movement in front of the device, this is tied to a security and convenience feature called presence detection and requires Windows Hello facial recognition login to be set up. This feature enables you to be able to approach your laptop, and without touching it, the screen will wake and trigger Windows Hello login to access your computer. This also will lock the device when it senses you move away from it to reduce power consumption and reduces the changes of an unauthorized user accessing your device. To deactivate this, open the Lenovo Vantage app > Select the device settings tab > Select the Display subcategory > Scroll down to the presence detection section and make the necessary adjustments. We are glad to hear that your Yoga Pro 9i has been otherwise nice, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.
