We like our external drive with blu ray. The instructions to set it up were a little confusing. I can't get our Toshiba PC to use it as the default drive, but we'll figure it out. Over all the unit does exactly what it is supposed to.

I bought this because the internal drive in my HP TouchSmart gave out. I could have bought something less expensive, but the extra $35 to get the BluRay functionality as well was a good investment. The drive came bundled with a suite of CyberLink applications for reading and writing the disc types the drive can use. A good value when you consider the bundled software. The drive does USB 3.0, but it is working adequately with my USB 2.0 machines. I look forward to using it with my Apple MacBook Pro (has USB 3.0) later on. There is a case for buying two, so you can back up from disk to disk without buffering on the PC.

Plays well and does great for playing movies on my laptop. Didn't have any problems with set up. Glad I took the associates advice on this model.

I have windows 10. The install software is outdated and added an extra program or two that I didn't need but there's no way to tell when you're installing unless you know a lot about computer stuff. It was extremely slow loading when inserting a disc. I was able to test a bluray disc and the software took ages to load it. Also, If there is a update to the software, I never got to find out because not long after installing and testing a dvd, the software made my computer screen display literally jump around and try to lock up. I IMMEDIATELY uninstalled it. Problem solved. I have not had the problem since then. I had just bought my Dell laptop that same day and this scared the mess out of me. It scared me so much that I haven't bought any type of external cd/dvd drive for my computer. I returned it, but I have no clue what to get next. I really wanted something that can play blu ray, but it looks like that is not going to happen any time soon.

AFTER 5 DAY OF FRUSTRATION FINALLY WORKING. LG PLAYER DESIGN NEEDS IMPROVEMENT . 1. PUT THE OPEN CLOSE BUTTON ON SIDE OR TOP. NOT UNDER THE SLIDING TRY. 2. INCLUDE UP GRADED CYBERLINK SOFT WARE.

Haven't gotten a chance to really explore it yet. Need a HDMI connection on the PC to use it on the 3-D tv. Looking forward to turning some videos into 3-D's though.

Love this new external drive. It's a bit big and a tiny bit loud when spinning at high speeds but an overall awesome upgrade over my previous external drive. I use it mainly for ripping CD's

I use this when I get time to watch movies have several blue-rays movies.The only problem I have had was the cord that goes from the player the laptop was to short. so had the but a extension usb cord for it.

I wasn't able to find a internal Blu-Ray Drive for my new computer so I bought the external one. After getting home, I took it apart and found I could install the basic drive internally. All I needed was a power cable. Works great, even though it doesn't quite sit flush with the drive space.

The software was very easy to install. It has been able to play both DVD and Bluy-Rays with no problems at all. I use this to play media for a club that I am in at college and I have had no problems. Sometimes it takes a bit long to load the disk, and the usb connection cord is short. Other than that this product has been great!

I found this to be a great addition for my Macbook Pro and my new Mac. While the price is a little high I believe the quality and usefulness well worth it.

Works very well and is really fast. If you take this in a carry on laptop bag the only downfall is that it's pretty bulky. Other than that no complaints.

A reliable blu-ray machine player after 3 months of use. The noise level during playback is surprisingly quiet. Whenever I watch a movie, either in DVD or HD format, I sometimes forget that I am using this LG player instead of the built-in DVD or Blu-ray player on my desktop or laptop. I managed to burn quite a number of CDs and DVDs without any issues. This is is a better buy compared to the previous 2 external slim-design blu-ray players I had which began showing playback and write issues in less than 2 months of use.

So Far So Good, we have made over 100 dvd's with no issues, and I like the way it looks - it's very nice looking. AS far as I know it's a good price for one that copies blu-rays.

Only needed something to play bluray but had to pay for a lot of other capability that I didn't need, all other disc drives didn't have bluray.

I thought to get it for the occasional BluRay movie watching on my HD laptop. Primarily, I use it to archive (long time archive) family history and ancestor pictures for other family members. Works great; very highly recommended.

For the price, this burner works great with my Roxio software. I am thrilled that I can dub at least 5 DVDs of photo files on one Blu-ray disc.

This burner hit the spot. I can watch and burn Blu-Ray's very easily on my Imac!

The was the best BluRay recorder and maybe only external drive made and I am very happy with it. The record speed is great also.
