Bought this on sale, so it even started out great. Took a little time before I opened it, but finally opened it and hooked it up (great having power cord, no need to use USB for that), plays great and smooth. Handles DVDs and CDs great, plays Blu-rays good too. Have not gotten a chance to burn with a blu-ray, but DVDs and CDs burn fast. Nice device for my laptop and desktop. Sturdy construction.

Easy plug and play, nice and quick way to upgrade to BD.

Many times the drive won't show in my computer all because of issues with drivers and firmware not being fully compatible with Windows 10z I actually had to downgrade the firmware and plug it to my computer thru USB port 2.0 instead of 3.0 so it doesn't disappear again.

Works great, even on Mac. Hook it up and go. Can make some noise when not in use like its checking for a disc but not too loud. Power switch is easy to get too so just turn off when not in use.

The device works well enough, but I had to supply the Power cable for it. The one provided did not work with the device. I took the cable back to the store, but they said I had to bring the whole thing back in the box to get the right cable... Not worth it since I already had a power cable that fit the burner. So, in conclusion, when purchasing from Best Buy... check the box before you leave the store!

Bought for high capicity storage and safe backup of pics. Backed up 40,000 pics.

We were looking for an external Blu Ray reader/writer for mac. After reviewing several, this unit kept coming up. It was plug and play and our mac recognized it no problem. Third party apps are needed for any heavy lifting but other than that it works well.

I was really impressed with the quality of this drive, Operates flawlessly, very quiet "can hardly hear it when running" which for me was a big plus! Super fast writing.

Bulky and does not come with useful software, you will need to find software to burn data disk, it only came with proprietary backup software that you would need to have if you wanted to restore the data elsewhere. This isn't very useful.

I have had a number of problems burning DVD DL+ video dvd's with this burner. My old burner that died that this replaces had no trouble, still trying to decide if burner or my media. My media is Memorex, and I haven't had many coasters is the past. I really can't recommend it at this point ... I need to do more testing, which I haven't had time for.

Bought this bad boy for my server room. Reads everything perfectly. Only downside is the external power supply.

It works so far. Since I haven't used this much, I will repost another review a little later.

I have been an LG fan for many years and this DL Blue Ray Burner is no exception. It is sleek, great price, and the burning speed is right there with the more expensive units. Plus, it is external, so my friends are now making Blue Ray backup copies also. I highly recommend this unit for anyone who wants quality at a great price.

Works as advertised for both CD and DVD media. Haven't tried it with Blu-Ray media as yet.

This product works very good and the included media software works great too.

The burner is a bit bulky, but does a great job with simple DVD burning capabilities.

I'll echo previous comments: This is a good device, easy to set up and burns quickly, HOWEVER, we also had to purchase 3rd party software to burn blu-ray discs. That's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

As usual excelent LG product, works fine with BDR,DVDR and Cdrs. So quiet have to check if is even on.

I bought this Blu-ray DVD player because of it's SSUSB capacity. Works great!
