I hooked it up with the optical cable and was able to set it up to use without the TV speakers. The sound is good but not as loud as other 300 watt bars I have heard. The woofer is excellent. I was a little disappointed that you have to use the soundbar’s on/off button to turn it on. It does shut off when you turn off the TV. Talked to several people at Best Buy but no one knew how this could be don’t.
