The sound massively improved upon the TV's sound, integrated fantastically with the LG (including a well calibrated volume control when sound is sent through the soundbar/subwoofer) and had decent kick for home-theatre.

Don’t let the size fool you though, it’s powerful and definitely level up from using just tv speakers. The wireless sub woofer hides away without distracting wires and connects super easy to the unit. We use it for tv mainly but sometimes connect phones via blue tooth to listen to music at home and it really does all music justice. If you want home theater with out 5 or 7 extra speakers... THIS IS YOUR ANSWER!

It didn't matter the other systems we tested, she really like this set of speakers best. High quality sound and base. Only annoying part is that you have to use the included remote, and we were unable to control with a universal remote.
