Awful Customer Service

I purchased this item in August 2018. Two years later the connection for the water filter needed replacement. After a little over three years the refrigerator stopped cooling. I first contacted LG on 12/21/21 and was told a service visit would be arranged. After hearing nothing for ten days I called again and was told the matter had been referred to the wrong department. Again, nothing happened and during the next call I was told the service order had been cancelled and that I should contact a local appliance repair shop the service rep recommended. That shop serviced neither LG products nor my area. While attempting to arrange service, I received a text from LG saying service couldn't be arranged and asking for proof of purchase so a reimbursement could be processed. I called LG again after receiving a text saying the reimbursement had been denied though in a subsequent call I was told the opposite. Each time I spoke with customer service I received contradictory information. This is by far the worst customer service department I've dealt with.
On 2/18/22, almost two months after this began I was finally told I could either arrange service myself or receive $500 toward a new LG refrigerator. To their credit, I did receive a $250 payment for the inconvenience but given the fact it took two months to simply be told to arrange my own service call I decided to replace it with another brand.

Broke after 3.5 years

This was an amazing refrigerator for 3.5 years then it just stopped cooling. We came back from vacation to a broken refrigerator and tons of stinky, spoiled food. We hope to get it fixed, but a $2300 LG should work for longer than 3.5 years! LG, please fix or replace our refrigerator!

Don't buy anything from LG! We have a 2 year old refrigerator that has not worked for 2 months. Their warranty repair is unbelievably bad and their customer service is completely unhelpful. There was a class action suit that was settled previously but it is too late to register for it. Hopefully there will be new one.
