It's a nice dishwasher. The only downside is that the inside of the dishwasher stays wet and doesn't dry the dishes very well even with the extra dry feature enabled. The troubleshooting guide says to use a rinse agent or prop the door open ... not the most helpful. It does get the dishes nice and clan, but the moisture inside is a concern of the washer gets left unemotional after a cleaning as mold and mildew might might be a factor.

Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry regarding the drying performance of your LG 24" Front Control Built-In Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher. Then dishwasher has a great design, works well and it runs quietly. We originally got this dishwasher for our old house and when we moved into the new house, we replaced existing dishwasher with this one because we liked it so much.

    Good dishwasher but...

The new dishwasher works well. It is VERY QUIET! The only way you know it is running is by the count down timer light. It plays a song when it is done! I had expected more from the third tray. I had hoped for a place to put spatulas and ladles, but it is too shallow. It has excessive divisions to place and isolate cutlery, but it won't allow a turner or a whisk or a small measuring cup. Disappointed. I am a senior citizen: I wished I had order one with top controls. The front controls are numerous, therefore small and hard to read. I have to bend down close to decipher them. I think top controls might be easier to read just by looking down. The controls are modern and digital! You have to hold a button down for 2 seconds to make it take and beep. Some have lights. It takes some getting used to. I wished I had top control with push buttons - if they still exist. The pull handle extends only over part of the door, not the whole length like my old one. I am still getting used to grabbing it in the middle, not just anywhere to open. Not a flaw, I just want to note it. It looked like it did in the picture. There is a lot of room for dishes but not much flexibility. I accidentally found that the tines can fold down to allow for more room for larger pots. That is a good point.

Want so much to give this 5 stars as it works and functions beautifully - dishes get clean, dried, and the third shelf is perfect for utensils. My ONLY complaint is that I wish I would have bought the model with the controls on the inside panel. Every time I lean up on my counter it triggers something to happen. I have had to restart in the middle of a cycle a few times. So buy this dishwasher but pay the extra for the interior controls.

Our experience is pretty much what other folks have written. This is an extremely quiet dishwasher, Very pleased with that. It's cleaning power is very good, We have had no issues with that. The third drawer has been very handy. The only downside has been the drying of dishes, but we normally start the dishwasher at bedtime (not a problem since it's so quiet) and let the dishes dry overnight. So overall, we have been very pleased with this dishwasher and would recommend it.

So far the dishes have been perfectly clean. Thae added flat top rack comes in handy for spatulas and large knives. It’s also quieter that our previous dishwasher. The control panel is a bit hard to read and wish it was on the top edge of the door as opposed to the top front, but for the price this is workable. We decided on this over many others as it has the solid option without extraneous items like bluetooth or wifi, and comes in under 650.

    10 yr motor warranty worthless

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Disappointed. At about 2.5 years the dishwasher started to make a horrible noise and began leaking. And while the motor has a 10 year warranty it's $349 to have a LG technician repair. And while it's not as expensive as a new dishwasher it's still about 60% of the original cost. While I did like the dishwasher, especially the top silverware rack, I would not recommend it to my friends or family

Hi, Tonka. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We understand your concern about the LG Dishwasher (LDFN4542B) model, especially with the noise and leaking issue after 2.5 years of use. We really aim to provide reliable, high-quality products that meet our customers' needs and expectations.

To help you out, we suggest checking the door seal and making sure there aren’t any blockages or debris causing the leak. Sometimes, a worn-out seal can lead to water leakage and those odd noises. You might also want to run a cleaning cycle to see if that helps with the noise issue since built-up debris inside the dishwasher can create some strange sounds. If you need more assistance, feel free to check out this link: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-dishwasher-troubleshooting-leaking-issues--1390840766052.

We know that repair costs can feel like a lot sometimes. Just drop us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and we’d love to help you out by looking into your situation and finding the best solution for you.

We’re here to make sure you’re happy with your LG appliance! ^Juvy LG

Super Happy with this Dishwasher Purchase

Extremely Quiet when running and really like the cycle options! This machine gives a new way to manage dishwashing and remain cost efficient with energy because it does not have the heating element common in other older dishwashers. This LG uses built up heat from the water cycle, and has options for raising the temperature of the water to sanitize dishes--all in order to dry them perfectly without spots. I am very impressed with the technology in this dishwasher. Thanks!

This LG was a replacement for Kitchenaid's top of their line model which finally died after 12 years. It works great and does a good job of keeping things in place. The Kitchenaid had a few addons that this didn't offer, so I removed the extra baskets and holders from the Kitchenaid and put them in the LG. The only problem I can see is the visibility of the controls. No lights, black on black makes them impossible to see unless I kneel down in front of it and use my phone flashlight. Other than that, perfect.

Great dishwasher. Very quiet, to the point that I didn’t even realize it was in. I use pods and rinse aid and everything comes out spotless clean. The dishes are all dry after a completed wash cycle. Highly recommend this product

We bought this when our old dishwasher quit on us. This machine is leaps and bounds above our old one. It gets everything sparkling clean with zero residue. We can even wash silicone stuff in it, without them coming out tasting like soap. We love it—and my kids get a kick out of the little song it plays when it's finished washing.
