A new dishwasher after 28 years!

This LG is very quiet compared to our previous "quiet" unit. The top rack is functional for silverware and the middle rack is adjustable up or down. This Energy Star unit takes a bit longer to operate a cycle, but it does wash fine. Drying is good but being energy efficient, not super hot or fast. OK. The install, OMG, with front connections the lines and cords need to be extra LONG and you have to be a magician to keep from running them over as you back in the unit. Be aware of this as many standard install kits won't have long enough items. Front connections may seem like a neat thing but they are a pain. One star off for that design flaw. The bottom front panel is adjustable to flush up with the floor for a clean install look. Unit comes packages extremely well. Operational features are nice with front facing controls. No need to open the door to get to control panel. Lower silverware tray is redundant to upper rack and has been removed to make more room for dish wares. So far, no operational issues and really enjoying the quiet. We hope this one will last as long as the one it replaced.

    Excellent dishwasher, with unique features.

I have had this wonderful dishwasher for almost 4 weeks, and I could not be more satisfied. It appears to be well made, so I anticipate being extremely satisfied. Some interesting details: it is very quiet—not silent, but quiet enough that it’s not annoying even when I’m in the kitchen. It’s very efficient and cleans even baked on food—with a caveat: the instructions MUST be followed! I usually use it’s “automatic” cycle, which sets its functions to do it’s thing in the best way. But that doesn’t work on baked on food. The instructions have the solution! They recommend doing a rinse cycle after putting the baked on dishes in the washer. It’s only 12 minutes, without soap, and there’s no drying—everything stays damp literally all day if that’s done in the morning before doing a normal “automatic” wash cycle. And then, presto, everything comes out clean as a whistle. Wow! So believe the instructions. The instructions also insist that a liquid rinse aid MUST be used. And that’s also true, because the drying cycle is different from every other dishwasher. There is no heating element, only a fan and time. So I run the “automatic” cycle at night before going to bed, and I set “overnight dry”, which is a form of extra dry. In the morning, the dishes are spotlessly clean, and they are completely dry. Wow! Besides the “rinse” and “automatic” settings, I have used the “heavy” setting once, to wash the grids from my gas range. Wow again! They came out absolutely clean. Incidentally, I installed the dishwasher myself. The installation instructions are clear and easy to follow. The only difficulty I had was that the old dishwasher had been installed with truly cobbled plumbing, which I had to remove before doing it right. I’m not a plumber, so that took some effort. Also, because there’s not a lot of room under the dishwasher because of its large cavity, I’m glad I have small fingers to connect the plumbing and electricity. Lastly, I have to complement the guys who brought it. Just like every other appliance I have purchased from Best Buy, it was delivered early—scheduled for 2 to 6, and delivered shortly after noon, and they brought it in carefully. Great service!

    It’s just fine

We purchased this dishwasher to replace our leaky Samsung dishwasher (for the love of god, avoid Samsung appliances) PROS: - Wash Quality: Does a great job washing the dishes. - Quiet Operation: It’s not silent, but it’s much quieter than our Samsung was. - Third Rack: Nice to be able to put silverware up there and not take up the extra room down below. CONS - Non-Existent Drying: This dishwasher DOES NOT dry your dishes. A rinse aid helps a little, but expect to have to keep your dishwasher open after it’s done to let them air dry. - Installation: The contractor Best Buy used for installation tried to upsell us on everything. Quite annoying as we already paid for installation. Overall, this dishwasher is fine. Not bad, but not great. Can’t comment on longevity yet as we’ve only had it for about a week.
