I have had this wonderful dishwasher for almost 4 weeks, and I could not be more satisfied. It appears to be well made, so I anticipate being extremely satisfied. Some interesting details: it is very quiet—not silent, but quiet enough that it’s not annoying even when I’m in the kitchen. It’s very efficient and cleans even baked on food—with a caveat: the instructions MUST be followed! I usually use it’s “automatic” cycle, which sets its functions to do it’s thing in the best way. But that doesn’t work on baked on food. The instructions have the solution! They recommend doing a rinse cycle after putting the baked on dishes in the washer. It’s only 12 minutes, without soap, and there’s no drying—everything stays damp literally all day if that’s done in the morning before doing a normal “automatic” wash cycle. And then, presto, everything comes out clean as a whistle. Wow! So believe the instructions. The instructions also insist that a liquid rinse aid MUST be used. And that’s also true, because the drying cycle is different from every other dishwasher. There is no heating element, only a fan and time. So I run the “automatic” cycle at night before going to bed, and I set “overnight dry”, which is a form of extra dry. In the morning, the dishes are spotlessly clean, and they are completely dry. Wow! Besides the “rinse” and “automatic” settings, I have used the “heavy” setting once, to wash the grids from my gas range. Wow again! They came out absolutely clean. Incidentally, I installed the dishwasher myself. The installation instructions are clear and easy to follow. The only difficulty I had was that the old dishwasher had been installed with truly cobbled plumbing, which I had to remove before doing it right. I’m not a plumber, so that took some effort. Also, because there’s not a lot of room under the dishwasher because of its large cavity, I’m glad I have small fingers to connect the plumbing and electricity. Lastly, I have to complement the guys who brought it. Just like every other appliance I have purchased from Best Buy, it was delivered early—scheduled for 2 to 6, and delivered shortly after noon, and they brought it in carefully. Great service!

This LG is very quiet compared to our previous "quiet" unit. The top rack is functional for silverware and the middle rack is adjustable up or down. This Energy Star unit takes a bit longer to operate a cycle, but it does wash fine. Drying is good but being energy efficient, not super hot or fast. OK. The install, OMG, with front connections the lines and cords need to be extra LONG and you have to be a magician to keep from running them over as you back in the unit. Be aware of this as many standard install kits won't have long enough items. Front connections may seem like a neat thing but they are a pain. One star off for that design flaw. The bottom front panel is adjustable to flush up with the floor for a clean install look. Unit comes packages extremely well. Operational features are nice with front facing controls. No need to open the door to get to control panel. Lower silverware tray is redundant to upper rack and has been removed to make more room for dish wares. So far, no operational issues and really enjoying the quiet. We hope this one will last as long as the one it replaced.

Sleek, quiet and washes great! Have to train myself not to wash before I put them in. Love the top tray just wish it was a little roomier can’t put bottle nipples in it like our daughters. All functions work great!

This is a decent product that has some good features, but it is not the premium model. I feel it is therefore a little overpriced. My favorite feature is the display stays lit up after a cycle so you know at a glance when there are clean dishes to put away. The dishwasher is not great at getting dishes dry. You have to run your hot water beforehand to make sure the water is hot. (That’s pretty standard recommendation.) if you don’t, the dishes won’t be dry. (That is not standard in my experience.). Also, If you do not use jet dry, your dishes will not be dry. The third rack is convenient. The second rack can adjust up or down to use extra space for top or bottom rack. However, we found we always use it at the height a standard model would have. It will be nice to have the option to put a giant Turkey pan in there. I thought it was misleading in the description and manual, because this does not support LG ThinQ. I received a bad unit that I had to return. Troubleshooting with LG customer support was a small nightmare. Thankfully Best Buy exchanged it no questions asked. I was disappointed with installation. The dishwasher has the water inlet and the electrical attachment in the front so you have to run the hose and electrical connection under the unit. This is so you can have a seamless install under counter where you don’t have any room to get to the back or sides. However, it is a bit obnoxious to have to lay on the floor with 4 inches to work, where you have to turn a monkey wrench or splice wires. The big disappointment is that there are three legs to adjust the height and since my kitchen is not level, I needed to use this feature. you’re supposed to use a socket set to turn a plastic bolt. The plastic is not strong enough for this application. The plastic hex nut head would literally deform when I used a wrench on it. Needless to say, I couldn’t adjust it adequately. In the pictures you can see the right fit underneath and above the dishwasher a gap because I couldn’t raise it higher or level it properly.

Had to replace an aging dishwasher and choose this based on a recommendation from a Geek Squad repairman. Glad I went with this one even though it was a little more expensive than another I was considering. Cleans very well, is much quieter than the outgoing model. The third shelf for small utensils is actually helpful. Would definitely buy it again.

I’ve had the LG LDFN4542S dishwasher for almost a year now, and it has been an excellent addition to my kitchen! It’s very quiet, which is perfect for running especially during the evening. We use the delay timer often, so we can save energy by running it at low-peak times. It saves both water and electricity, which is great for keeping utility bills low. The size is just right, and the interior has plenty of space for all kinds of kitchen items, from large pots and pans to delicate dishes. The 3rd rack is a total game-changer and we love it! The only downside is that the dishes are still a bit wet at the end of the cycle, but it's not enough of an issue to keep me from rating this dishwasher 5 stars. Overall, the LG LDFN4542S is a fantastic dishwasher with great performance and energy efficiency.

So quiet, and so much room to load tall travel mugs and large plates, love it. You can take out the 3rd rack if you want and leave 2nd rack at normal level, then those pizza pans dont hit the top when on the bottom. Cycle with extra dry isnt bad, comparably at 3.5 hrs. And add jet dry so almost all dishes are dryed, without it they are all still kinda wet . I have the front controls, which are sensitive if you bump the front while at the counter..i almost returned cause of this, but love the dishwasher so much..just have to make sure when at counter i dont lean on power button, lol.

We are very happy with our LG dishwasher. With basic/moderate mechanical skills I was able to install on my own. Just take your time and don't skip any steps. Washer is fairly quiet and does a very good job. Use detergent dispenser and get rinse aid. It makes a world of difference.

We mainly replaced our old dishwasher because it was dated and white colored. I was a little apprehensive because our old one wasn't broken, cleaned and dried dishes well. But as we gradually have remodeled our kitchen, it definitely looked old and out of place. After seeing the LG discounted to $629.99 we decided it was time to upgrade. After using it for 2 weeks, we love the way it looks and actually prefer the looks over many more expensive units and even Bosch brands. It cleans dishes well, although takes a bit more time than out older unit but is extremely quiet! I couldn't believe how quiet it was and thought it wasn't operating. After years of becoming accustomed our loud dishwasher it's a nice relief to have this unit. We also really like having the third rack for knives and other utensils. The main drawbacks of this unit is that the normal wash time is about 2 -1/2 hours, our old unit would be done in under 2 hours. The additional time isn't the main frustration, it's the fact after that time not all the dishes are completely dry, there would still be a few drips here and there. The unit does have an extra dry option which will stretch the time to 2 -3/4 hours but it still isn't completely dry which is just annoying. I believe the heating element isn't as good as my old unit as the plates would be quite warm from the old unit compared the LG. I don't overload the LG unit so there should be ample room to dry dishes and utensils. In the end, we just have to get a extra cloth to wipe off the few drips of water here and there but definitely wished it was completely dry like our old unit. But I'm sure this unit likely uses less water and energy compared to our old 20 year unit.

Placed in the island of an open concept kitchen, it is remarkable how super quiet it is when running. The extra rack for utensils isa very helpful space saver when loading other racks. The pin array on the rack is versatitle for loading a variety of small and large pans, glasses and dishes. Cyle length is typical.

Loving my new dishwasher! It is so much quieter than my previous one. And I love the look of the stainless steel interior. I was not looking for a third rack which this one has, but I have used it on occasion and like that I can remove the rack if I choose. The installation went very smoothly and I was glad it was delivered within two weeks of purchase. At another big name store it was going to be six months.

We got this LG dishwasher about a month ago, and it's been a really nice upgrade. The best things are how incredibly quiet it is - seriously, sometimes I forget it's even running! And it gets our dishes sparkling clean, even the ones with some stuck-on food. The third rack at the top is also a game-changer for fitting all those little utensils and freeing up space. Looks great in our kitchen too. The only minor things are that some of the wash cycles can be pretty long, so you just have to plan for that. And, like a lot of dishwashers, plastic items don't always come out perfectly bone dry, but most other things do. Overall, we're very happy with it. It's a great dishwasher that's super quiet and does a good job cleaning. Definitely recommend it!

Capacity is good, and with a little bit of rinsing aid, performance is great. This washer is quieter than our previous one, and seems to be far more efficient with cleaning. It does a better job of getting junk off the plate as well. Cleaning time however is a bit long. 2 to 3 hours? Maybe this is for energy efficiency? But that doesn’t make sense. Install installation process was a breeze and we are pleased with our purchase. We have owned this product for about six months and the only thing I can say is that rinsing aid is very important. I heard that there are some issues with leaking depending on the unit but our unit is fine and we have had no issues with leaking.
