Very Very Bad Rack Design Don't Buy

The rack design has the stupidest design. Both top and bottom. I thought LG was a good brand but because of this purchase I will never buy anything LG ever again in my life. And I am going to spread the word. It's like a 2 year old designed it.

I can’t seem to get help from Best Buy or LG. After more than an hour on the phone I have been transferred to 3 different groups. Hopefully my machine was just a defect and this isn’t common.

It doesn't clean even after almost 3 hrs run time. I thought I was safe with the LG name but the cheap one I had before this cleaned everything in 72 min. Glasses don't clean, the top 3rd rack doesn't clean, it doesn't dry well at all.

It doesn't have wifi. In order to connect this unit to the app (presumably to get the smart diagnosis feature), you need a phone that has NFC enabled. iphones do not have this feature. So ios is out. When you go switch over to that old android phone, the app refuses to launch because it thinks the phone is rooted, which it hasn't. First app I have seen on Android to kill itself based on a flaky root detection. I have banking apps on the same phone that work just fine. Haven't had a chance to really see the washing capabilities of this unit, but I am not optimistic of what follows.

All the settings have been tried on the 2nd dishwasher which still leaves dishes unclean and does not dry. A faulty appliance. A loss of a good amount of money worthy only for the trash bin.

Does not dry

This looked like a good backup especially for the price, but this works worse than our previous dishwasher which was 40 years old. The dishes are still wet, and always have a film on them. The owners manual says it "does not rely on a heating element for the drying process," meaning it hust doesnt dry the dishes. Returning this and going without a dishwasher until we can get a bosch.

Front panel very fragile

Tech said it was physical damage caused it. If that is the case, why is panel so easily damaged? I've never had this happen to a front display panel before. Buyer beware.

Need a new control panel in less than 2 years due to moisture getting into the control panel, a known problem. Parts covered, but not labor. Must either (1) buy the $250 part and replace myself or (2) pay $250 for a technician to visit, verify the problem, order the part, come back and install the part that is covered by warrenty or (3) spend hours on the phone arguing with LG customer srvice.

Of all the appliances we bought this is by far the worst. The buttons on the outside constantly get pushed by accident. You have to have it on the extended dry cycle to get anywhere close to dry and even then you still have to hand dry almost everything. The top rack design is horrible, there’s really no obvious way to load bowls in there without them rolling around.

The worst thing is the tines arrangement was awful. We couldn't fit our dishes in. You can only place a few serving dishes upright then everything else has to lay flat - not very useable. We exchanged the LG for a Bosch.
