I did a lot of research before purchasing this monitor. I needed a monitor for photography editing. So I needed a monitor that matched my photo labs specs. And I needed to be able to calibrate it in case it didn't. My photo lab requires rgb, and this monitor has 99.9%. I also needed an IPS screen so I could use it from almost any angle.

My husband needed a new monitor when the old one refused to turn on. I rushed down to Best Buy--where I get just about everything tech and kitchen appliances, too--and found this on sale. My husband is a writer, on the computer most of the day writing or researching, with no need for a gamer-style monitor, so I bought this. What a pleasant surprise to find that it's a significant upgrade over the old LG.

I got this monitor to set up in my dorm room with my laptop, It's a great size for gaming and of course getting work done. It is a little bright at night but it comes with built-in brightness settings. I have not manipulated all the on unit settings yet but it seems like there is plenty there for you get exactly what you want out of this monitor. The screen is not quite bezel-less but is definitely crisp looking. The monitor is housed in glossy plastic that is a bit of a fingerprint magnet but odds are you aren't going to be touching it much. At the end of the day this is a great budget monitor that's a great desktop size.
