    I bought the predecessor of this fridge in April, 2018, and the compressor has been out now for over a week so that the unit does not cool at all. LG had to settle a class action suit over their compressors and is liable for the repair but has blocked my efforts to get it done while not getting me an appointment before January. I have gone to every level of their customer "care," but I still do not have a working refrigerator, nor do I have a workable plan from LG. Look at reviews and on their own Facebook page - this is a common problem, and reports are that they have not corrected it. This should have been a nice refrigerator, but instead it is a nightmare. I will never purchase an LG product again.

    We just purchased this fridge in January. We love the space & the set up in the fridge section but the ice maker is terrible. I would not recommend this product solely based on that aspect. It does not make ice fast at all. Through the course of a 12 hour period- it won't even fill up the ice hopper. It's very disappointing.

    DO NOT BUY, There is a Class Action Lawsuit!!!

    Do not buy LG. The compressor is complete trash and broke in less than 6 years. Off course lasted just long enough to void the labor portion of the warranty. It costs $550 in labor to replace the compressor. WHAT A JOKE.

    never buying lg again

    the ice/water dispenser leaked. stopped working after year 1. and now after arpund 5 years it just stopped working one day. hope to get it fixed. but we also bought the dishwasher that messed up after first year. loose cords on door panel. the lg microwave. same thing. power. no power. works whenever it wants. we also went with lg washer and dryer. all top of the line. washer needed parts replaced multiple times. never buying lg again. same issues with samsung years earlier. never again!!! or buy extended warranties for everything becUse youll need them no doubt.

    Stay away from the linear compressor or LC

    I purchased it on April 2018 , it not cooling or freezing anymore on August 2023 LG has a big lawsuit because of this linear compressor, LG will cover everything before 5 years for its faulty refrigerator including food spoil, but after five to ten years they will only cover the compressor, you will have to pay 550 dollars for labor, I will use it as a storage cabinet in my garage,

    If you have a wall next to your fridge do not buy this. You’ll discover that you can’t open the door wide enough to open your drawers all of the way. You will go years not being able to easily clean messes. You will lose food at the back of said drawers and find science expereiments gone awry. You will be forced to move the behemoth just to get the drawers out to clean them. This is a giant fridge but there is no efficient use of space. Eventually you’ll find yourself raging inside and hating everytime you have to put groceries away or clean the thing. I promise there are better options. We are replacing with Fisher Paykel and can’t wait for delivery so this monstrosity can go plague some other family. Every frenchdoor fridge you find at big box stores will have this problem. Find a local specialty dealer and save yourself!!!!

    We bought this refrigerator and two years later, the compressor, the evaporator and the condenser had to be replaced. We were without a fridge more than 3 weeks as only one company handles warranty issues for lg and they are pretty busy fixing lg refrigerators. Never been so disappointed in lg. Will not buy one in the future, also there is a class action suit on the compressor so be aware

    Watch out for LG compessors

    The fridge is big holds enough for a large family. However after 3 years the compressor is bad a known LG problem as we're finding out. Not happy about this LG should have told owners about a known issue lost a full freezer and fridge

    I love the design but after have one I am not sure

    I love the design but after have a similar one for 4 years, seems it is only headache, mine stopped freezing last year I lost everything in the freezer, with guarantee the technician advised if it broke again I had to buy new one, after exactly 1 year I lost all my frozen food again, because refrigerator seems working but freezer stopped. I missed the time that you used to spend a lot money in a product but depreciation of the money used to work in the same proportion, now you pay $2,000.00 average in one refrigerator, it takes 2 years to pay and you enjoy it for 1 to 2 more years. :( not sure if my luck is upside down or if the product was meant to have short durability.

    Was good until it died less than 5 years later. Last house was more than 9 years old when I sold the house and fridge was still going strong.

    Don't buy

    Initially, we loved this refrigerator. After 4 years the compressor went and had to be replaced. LG sent out a serviceman to fix it. 1.2 year later and no longer under warranty the compressor went again along with some other parts. Total bill with taxes was $1,163. LG covered $380 of the bill for the new compressor. I am so sorry that we bought this refrigerator. Looks great, roomy, but not reliable!

    LG Compressor Issues

    I bought not this model but model #5258309, about 3 years ago on 8/4/2018. 4 months after my extended warranty expired the compressor broke, got it exchanged on 12/10/21, and now 4/22/22, 4 months after the compressor broke again. The first one was covered by the compressor warranty, but I had to pay for the service and all the spoiled food. Now waiting on the second one to see how much it will cost, This refrigerator is practically new, and it has blown the compressor 2 times in 3 1/2 years. I'm afraid to fix it and in a couple of months the same thing happen again.

    If i could give this zero stars, I would. I liked the fridge a lot until it stopped cooling. Turns out that it was leaking within the walls of the fridge and it cannot be fixed! I expect major appliances to last 4x that long. The old overflow fridge we keep in the garage is 23 years old. I am pretty disgusted and wil never buy an LG fridge again.

    If i could give zero stars, I would. After 4 years, my fridge crapped out. Had the fans and circuit board replaced. Worked for a day and then broke again. When people say that LG has become garbage in the recent years... BELIEVE THEM!!!

    Looks great, don't be fooled!

    This is the most expensive refrigerator I've ever owned and the only one on which I've had to make 2 service calls! It's only 5 years old and now the freezer has stopped working. Naturally it's out of manufacturer's warranty. LG won't even come and look at it until I pay over $600. I found a local person and am having him take a look. If the repair is too costly, I'll just buy a DIFFERENT brand!

    LG's longevity is highly suspect

    Purchased this fridge Sep 2018. The compressor just failed this week, about a month after the warranty expired. We previously owned both Whirlpool and Samsung fridges for many years with zero problems. Although the cosmetics of this fridge are nice, having a $1300 part fail after only 3 years totally offsets other benefits and has made me completely regret going with LG. Buyer beware of LG's longevity!

    I'm not one to complain, but here we are... I've had this fridge for 3 years and 1 month and the ice maker is busted. While it will make ice, it drips a ton of water. So much so, that we have to turn off the ice maker as it will cause a large puddle on the floor. OF COURSE, this happened one month after having purchased the three year warranty. After talking to a BestBuy rep, he told me to not use the ice maker and that there isn't anything they can do. So, you spend $3k and the ice maker doesn't work after 3 years... Buyer beware
