Poor quality monitor

Dealing with best buy customer service is pain. Only option they have is returned the defective monitor and buy the same monitor for double price. If possible stay away from this monitor as they are made of very poor quality.

extremely short lived

Wouldnt turn on

No built-in speakers

She doesn’t need it, but I thought it would be neat to be able to stream apps on, like Netflix. I’m no techno wizard, but I was in charge of setting this monitor up. The instructions are similar to IKEA ones, without words, just diagrams. It works for several steps, but I could have used some words to explain some of it. After I set it up, I had to figure out how to get sound to work. We plugged the HDMI cable into my daughter’s laptop adapter, and it was showing what was on the computer, but there was no sound, from the computer or the monitor. It turns out, there’s no speakers on this monitor. It would be better if there were. I figured out that I had to plug in an aux cable in the back of the monitor and connect with a Bluetooth speaker that has an aux in jack in order to get audio. I’ve never encountered that in a computer monitor. Thankfully, online there was a lot more information on this monitor. The power on button in the back is actually called a joystick button. It does a lot, you can select everything you can control on the monitor with this button. There might be a lot more that you can do with this monitor, but I was pretty happy with myself when I figured out how to get the audio to happen. The display is good, it’s pretty much like looking at a small TV screen.

Now, with 27 inches, this LG monitor is a quite nice aesthetic option with its three-sided borderless design. In the box, all is there to start to use it. A power cord, monitor, and the monitor pedestal, in addition, the manufacturer is adding a HDMI cord. Mounting the two parts and the pedestal is a one-minute intuitive process. After connecting it to your laptop, recognition is immediate under a Windows 11 environment and you can enjoy the full HD resolution with its 1920 x 1080 resolution. To add to your eye comfort and image quality with a 100 Hz refresh rate, the monitor is ideal for all types of office work. But if you consider the wide viewing angles and the synchronization technology you could also consider it for your gaming needs. A couple of items that deserve to be mentioned and cost my review one star, to see how important are for you: 1.- The pedestal does not allow a height or horizontal adjustment. If you are planning to raise it, consider buying and placing a physical addition under the monitor. 2.- The adjustment/settings button is behind the monitor and consists of a joystick type of control. This is great and discreet when you don’t need to use it, but not the easiest control to change your settings. 3.- Only one HDMI input but also a VGA is there. 4.- The monitor, as most of the new ones in the maker does not come with speakers. One sound input (for a 3.5mm jack) is available in the back part of the monitor in case you have your own speakers or headphones (but be aware for accessibility, that the plug is in the back of the monitor. 5.- The power adapter is a terrible design choice. The transformer and the plug are in one single piece, so consider using a type of electrical adapter cord because the plug could not fit if your electrical outlet if it is too busy. I like the quality and the front part of the monitor, the price is great but some items described above are to be considered.

Excellent budget choice!

The ability to run this monitor at 100Hz provides clear action if you're into faster paced games and watching sports! The colors are pretty accurate, more than accurate enough for a hobbyist photographer or videographer to make your family photos and videos look great! Setting up the monitor is so easy, my significant other's 69 year-old father was able to get the monitor up and running in minutes without looking at the instructions or help from myself or others! It's almost the level of "so easy a caveman could do it," but also looks amazing! The only thing that would've matched the Mac Mini it's connected to would be if it came in the same silver color, but we can make the Mini look like the monitor. The ease of use this monitor provides while also showing excellent colors and motion is incredible! I would highly recommend this LG 27" IPS 100Hz monitor to anyone looking for a simple, do it all, budget friendly monitor to use for daily tasks, some faster gaming, and light photo/video work.

LG 27" IPS FHD 100hz AMD FreeSync Monitor Review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After purchasing two of these monitors and mounting them on raised monitors mounts that fit the LG100x100 mount style. They work beautifully so far. The 100hz has only been able to be achieved on one monitor at a time which makes sense when you only can look at one monitor at a time to make it usable. The settings menu onboard of the monitors is very thorough and the AMD FreeSync option is useful. With gaming these monitors have very good color ratios and the refresh rates are good for quick reflexes. The IPS features of these monitors are good and really help create a sharp picture helping to depict pixels and colors.

Good display but not vertically adjustable

Assembly of the monitor and stand is very quick with no tools required. However, there are a couple features that I just don't understand in terms of design. First, the cord is about three feet long which is about half the length that seems reasonable to me. For my desk setup this is not ideal and I had to run an extension cord to be able to place the monitor where I'd like it to be. Secondly there is no up and down height adjustment. One can adjust the tilt of the screen, but that is it. For my desk application it is close enough, but I'm very surprised that LG didn't provide this flexibility. The monitor does a good job in terms of color, contrast and brightness. The 100Hz refresh rate is nice and video motion works well. This is nice image quality and specifications for the price point. The borderless design is clean and not obtrusive. If you know the set monitor height and cord length will work for you, then this is a good choice for the value. I just feel there are too many other options out there to overlook the design choices of limiting application use by not allowing the monitor to adjust in height or in not providing what I'd consider a standard cord length. For these reasons I'd deduct some stars and generally not recommend the product.

Great for the price

It worked fine but I found that when I worked from home using my work laptop and my desktop monitor, I found that the color on my Samsung monitor was so far off from my laptop screen that it was distracting. I tried messing with the settings but I could never get my monitor to match with my laptop screen. The text on my Samsung monitor was hard to read because the picture was so blown out. So I decided to purchase this monitor to replace the Samsung. When I got the monitor out of the box and went to install it in my computer desk, it BARELY fit under the shelf attached to my desk. And when I say barely, I mean barely. I had to tilt the monitor back a bit for it to fit. An annoying trend in the electronics industry is that no one seems to want to provide an owner's manual anymore. LG is no different. No manual comes with this monitor. You have to go to the LG website for that. I needed a manual because this monitor has no buttons on it. I was feeling around the back and sides and couldn't find anything. What this monitor has is a little button/joystick thing on the back side. You have to reach around the back and press or move the joystick up, down or side-to-side to change settings. It's a little weird at first but once you get used to it, it's pretty easy to use. As far as picture quality, I would say this monitor is very good. I mean it's nothing like my Samsung TV in my living room but this is just a computer monitor so I don't need it to be reference quality. I don't game on my PC so I can't give any review of its' latency. But if you need an inexpensive computer monitor that is crazy big, you can't go wrong with this one.

Great productivity monitor!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After buying a 34" LG monitor to have more working real estate for spreadsheets and email, I thought it'd be nice to have a (somewhat) matching 27" off to the side to extend the desktop. I wasn't in a hurry, but when I saw the price drop on this 27" LG, it was a no-brainer. While using the included base does not allow this to sit at the same height as the 34", I added an articulated monitor arm and that did the trick. As for the monitor itself, it isn't a high-performance gaming monitor - I knew this going in. I got it strictly to do work: email, Teams meetings, spreadsheets, text documents, etc. In this role, it works like a champ. Might even get a second one to extend to the left of my 34"....
