Not impressed! I don't use the monitor for gaming or movies. I use it for business with a 4k PC. NOT worth $499.

Could be a great monitor with a computer with the right video card but for most it is just average.

This monitor had a beautiful UHD picture. Now it has no picture at all! It turns on, but nothing shows up on the screen, not even the menu. Two week past warranty so now what?

    BEST MONITOR FOR PRICE

    Posted .

I have been doing a lot of research from IPS to TN panels for 4K. You will not find another monitor cheaper than this one with everything you need. So any other IPS panel that's around 350-400 dollars is either 2-3 years old, small screen, bad backlight bleed, with very thick bezels. HP has one but is getting bad reviews and it's the same price. I noticed this model is different from the 27UD68P-W. That's when I jumped the gun and picked one up. This model has a higher contrast at 1300:1 to last years model which was 1000:1. Plus, you can pivot the screen to portrait mode. If you are worried about bad backlight don't worry about this model. It is 100 percent what an IPS panel should like. Nothing that stands out (like a really bad corner). It's very doable. That's the flaw with IPS though. But IPS are the best panels. Bright, accurate colors and most importantly the viewing angles. So go to best buy right now and pick one up. Best monitor on the market for its price...

    Excellent All Around

    * Amazing sharpness and clarity with no visible pixels. Definitely "retina" resolution. * Very accurate color. Though if you're a photographer or cinematographer you will still want to calibrate the screen. Even though LG performs some calibration at the factory (and includes a print out), I found a significant improvement after using my Spyder to calibrate. * Sturdy stand. No wobble or visible vibration when typing quickly. * Well implemented vertical height adjustment feature. Just push the screen to the height you want and it stays. * Joystick controller is intuitive to use and a lot better than the 1/2 menu buttons on most monitors. * Strong blacks and excellent contrast. * Backlighting is perfectly even and IQ remains consistent over a wide viewing angle. * Haven't noticed any ghosting or artifacts or anything to complain about in terms of image quality. * Works great with macOS, and the audio pass through on DisplayPort (to the jack in the back of the monitor) is automatically recognized. I'm so glad I chose this monitor and I highly recommend it. The IQ is 5 stars / 100%.

    Excellent upgrade from 1080P monitor

I had this set up with Xbox One S and PQ is excellent as well as 1080P games upscaled. Especially impressed with Forza 3. **TIP** For Xbox One S, you will need to turn ON the Freesync on this monitor otherwise, 4K won't be enabled. It certainly is an excellent upgrade from my PS4 & HP 27es setup. Games look much sharper and 4k Netflix/Amazon/Youtube look fantastic. Also I like the fact that this one is white and it matches with white Xbox One S. It has a thin bezel, very modern, and it can be adjusted vertically as well as rotate it for vertical viewing option. No speaker, although it has audio output jack, which is great because now I can output the sound via desktop speaker as well as my headphone amp (via optical) at the same time ! It's a breeze to switch back and forth between my speaker and headphone so I don't bother my wife too much :) ***TIP #2*** I bought this $499 but within few days it dropped to $399. I called customer support and they are giving me $100 credit ! Awesomeness !

Ok, this is my first 4k monitor (or TV) and all I can say is wow. I thought my iPhone and MacBook pro had some pretty sharp screens, but after using this LG for a few hours, I look at my iPhone and its dull and blurry. My eyes are like, what is this normal screen? Text is absolutely ridiculous. As sharp and perfect as can be. Real, true 4k video is hard to find on YouTube, but when you find one & watch it on this monitor.. wow. Oh and the monitor is gorgeous too. The white plastic is amazing, i thought it would be cheap looking, but no way, its awesome.

I upgrade from an old 24in, 1080p Vizio TV to this. Couldn't be any happier. I have the PS$ Pro and the new Xbox One X and they both look absolutely amazing on this monitor. Only downside I have is there are no speakers. Not really a bummer for me but for some that might be a deal breaker. I've had it for about a month now and I can't recommend it enough!

I have had it for two. Clear, bright, vivid colors. I cannot see the pixels until I go 6inches from the screen. Note that this is a different screen from the 27UD68, it has 300 nits of brightness and 1300 contrast ratio rather than 350 nits and 1000 contrast on the 27UD68. Also check your video card will support 3820 x 2160, preferably at 60 Hz.

    Perfect For MacBook Pro Users

I bought two of these when they were on sale for Black Friday (2017) as replacements for two Samsung UE590's that I had purchased only a week earlier (they were returned due to non-stop flicker). I can honestly say that I'm super-impressed by the quality and the fact that they "just worked" once attached using the included HDMI cables. While they only support 30 hertz at the highest resolution (3840x2160), the picture is crystal clear and far exceeds the quality of more expensive monitors from Dell (such as the U3415W, even though I know it's not UHD/4K). If you're a MacBook Pro owner, these are perfect (just make sure you buy the dongles if you've got the 2017 models).

This is a great 4k monitor. What really sold me was the vertical adjustment. No dead pixels and when watching true 4k looks outstanding. Connected to my dual boot hackintosh/windows 10 with evga 1050ti with display port.

Great 4k ips monitor, good fov, fair price

Im giving this monitor 5 stars with the assumption that i can get 6-10 years out of it. If so its a fair price for a great monitor. 27 inches @ 4k is a good match I think, and the screen response time is fine for gaming IMO. Being an IPS panel, colors look great and field of view is very good. Very uniform picture as I move my head around. Full screen white / desktop applications / web browsing: looks very good for a panel in this price range. No yellowing or non-uniformity. Full screen black / dark: not perfect but pretty good. All in all this monitor blows away my 8 year old TN panel HD monitor. The stand is good. Feels sturdy, doesn't shake or vibrate easily, and it's fully adjustable. Up down, tilt, and rotate 90. No complaint there. One gripe, the entire user interface is controlled by one button, the power button. It's one of those 4 way directional buttons. So if you are needing to get into the menus all the time for some reason that might annoy you.

This is a great Monitor. Completely happy with the purchase. I love everything about it and can't find any cons. Color accuracy is spot on. Had purchased the Dell 4K S2817Qr 28-Inch Screen LCD Monitor but it looked horrible. Blacks were more like grey.

Awesome monitors. I purchased 2. Nice and crisp, uniform colors and brightness across both displays. As a Revit and AutoCAD user, I'm ecstatic about the quality of the displays. Except... 1 had a slight defect in the display, almost looked like a small piece of fuzz between the face and the plane the pixels reside in. Big thanks to the Geek Squad folks for making it right. If it was towards an edge, I could have ignored it, but it was near the center of the display. Meh, things happen, and at the end of the day I have two excellent displays to use. I won't knock the product for what's most likely a small manufacturing defect that slipped through. If you're moving from HDTV resolution to 4K, you may want to look at your video card. My overclocked NVDIA 980 bogs down when running games at close to max settings.
