I guess they need to make sure it's strong enough to support the weight of the washer & dryer, but, wow, is this thing expensive for something that has little function.

Plus the new one didn't match my pedestal on my dryer. However I do love the pedestal's on the units as the extra storage and height is great.

It has no storage function really. Since I purchased my last one 13 years ago you would have thought they would have figured out a way to store the actual laundry soap. No! It's still to short in the drawer.

The service tech installed it anyway and said that another one would be ordered, delivered and set up for me.

Drawback is that it is not tall enough to store most spray bottles or average sized packages. Great for lint removers, packaged dryer sheets, rags, sponges, etc.
