Problems immediately, died at 4 months, horrible.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit and immediately had issues that required breaker reset. 4 months later the touchpad stopped working. Parts are on backorder with no ETA (that speaks to quality of this product). Customer service was horrible, never called or emailed when they said they would, kept dropping the ball. I had to keep calling in, because they never did what they promised. After two weeks I was told I was eligible for a defective swap out (with more paperwork and approval), had to keep calling to keep that moving along. After another 4 weeks, I was told I have to submit more paperwork and they will refund my purchase price by paper check only - no swap out option. End of story, I have to buy a new unit - which I would have done knowing this was the only option! Instead I pained through not having a cooktop for 6+ weeks. Horrible quality, even worse service - run away from this garbage product. Check other sites reviews - you will see similar issues, chiming at random times, reset at breaker, touchpad fails, warranty and support issues.

DO NOT BUY!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had 2 of these in the last 6 months. They worked fine for 3 months and went bad. The cooktop will randomly play a short little tune and all the settings flash and you can’t turn it on. Once, I was frying (hot grease), it starts the tune...and it wouldn’t turn OFF. The only way to reset it is to flip the breaker in your fuse box off and on. Then it will work awhile and then do the same thing. This first time LG replaced the unit. The second time they sent repair parts(new computer boards). Well, Geek Squad replaced them and it wouldn’t work and started smoking. Let me get this straight, Best Buy Geek Squad is top notch! They have been nothing but the best! Very helpful from phone conversations to the repair person(Casey). On the other hand, Stay Away from this LG product!! It is TROUBLE! I read the negative reviews and thought I’d be one of the lucky ones and purchased it anyway. Bad decision, it’s been a nightmare.

Overall a good cook top

Best Buy ordered a new unit immediately and now waiting for the new unit to arrive!!! Customer service today #1!!!

It's toast after only 2 years

Service assistance called- his comment, "It's toast." I've had it two years. Now it's just a shiny useless cooktop and I'm using an infrared cooker until I figure out what to do. The LG website is useless and very time-consuming.

Supposedly, all one has to do to turn it one is place a finger in a certain location but it frequently does not work -- after 5 months. To state the obvious, a cooktop is worthless if it will not turn on.
