I give this my highest endorsement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used several leading consumer review sources to research the best washer for our needs. They all scored this washer VERY highly. Now I know why. It is FANTASTIC!! I give it my highest recommendation. We do about six to eight loads of laundry every week for our busy family, and it is more than adequate for handling all of our tough stains, as well as large items such as blankets and comforter covers. This is absolutely a Best Buy best!!

The best front load washer I have owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So after my Kenmore front load washing machine died I decided to go with LG. Im sure glad I listen to others aswell. It was either this or samsung, chose LG because of the quality of the product and service. I felt the knobs and build quality of both samsung and LG, Lg was for sure the winner. The only thing that I liked about the samsung was that it had the LED tub light but not a huge deal breaker. I LOVE the turbo wash feature, it cleans really well for under 20 mins sometimes under 15mins. Overall I am a happy camper, Nothing has gone wrong with it since we bought it back in February.

Almost too much technology!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.... I only wish I had more laundry to really give my washer a workout! I bought this washer and matching dryer to stack in the laundry closet - the fit is perfect and the quiet operation means no interruptions when watching TV.

Absolutely recommend, two things to be aware of
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love it, but there are two things you should know. 1. Use high efficiency detergent, and then only 1.5 tablespoons per load, or it will get so sudsy it will leak. 2. If you will have it in a garage, according to the manual, you must elevate it at least 18 inches off the ground (buy the pedestal) or risk fire and explosion. Buy the pedestal with the washer for ease of installation.

Good at Cleaning Clothes..Less Features for More $
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had an LG 2487 from 206 we purchased brand new and a matching front load LG dryer too. Recently, the dryer's tub cracked and would no longer work. It was going to be a $300 repair and it would have taken a week to get it repaired...We have kids in camp everyday and need to wash and dry towels and their dirty clothes. I called LG and even though out of factory warranty, they warrant the tub on the dryer for a long time just like the washer. I could have waited for them to ship it but instead decided to now have a mismatched pair and purchased a new washer and dryer (I sold my almost 7 year old working LG 2487 for about $250 with the stand). I liked the feature of a tub light on my old 2487 and am quite surprised the new one doesn't have a light. The top of the line LG with a 5.1 tub has a light on it. I do also like the drainage on the new washer...I think it's much better than the old machine (even though, I still leave the door to washer open after each load). The lights that display what mode the washer or dryer are in are not as clear to read as they were on the old set of machines and the option buttons on the left and right side of these lights are even worse...they should light up. My eyesight isn't what it used to be but they are basically not easily seen standing right in front of the machine. And, why would LG make a machine with a see thru door if you can't see in without a light..and the glass (plastic) door on the washer is tinted which makes it almost impossible to see into the machine. I do like one thing on this new washer a lot...the spin speed of 1200 RPM is the same as on my old machine but for some reason, the clothes in this one seem to be dryer coming out after spin cycle than they were in my old 2487. Overall, it's a great pair of machines...my other close choice was the Samsung washer/dryer combos.

excellent washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the washer, clothes come out so you barely have to dry them and clean as ever. The only disappointment was in the delivery. The guys that came were very professional but told me that they could not put the washer in the washer drip pan per their policy. Which in Illinois is a code violation. Builders are required to put in the drainage pans on 2nd floor washers. Was very disappointed in the delivery not in the washer.

Cleans Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got this machine and I love it! Yes, it is a bit loud when it spins out but I don't think its all THAT loud. Faster it goes, the more water its getting out which saves me money.. Anyway, I use my own homemade detergent and it works great in this machine. My clothes are soft and clean. I have no complaints about this machine and would recommend it.

Beautiful washer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome looking washer that does the job right. No old front loader issues (smells, water collection,etc...). The product has a small catch that keeps the door open a small amount for ventilation. More wash cycle options than I know what to do with! Effectively cleans a heaping laundry basket full of clothes all at once! Great product so far!

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got it only yesterday and had it working for 8 hours. I used cycles I used with my previous Kenmore (aka Whirpool Duet) and there is no comparison - the clothes actually smells clean but not on the detergent. I think the washer rinses better the detergent then the Kenmore. I tried the cycles like sanitary (which I love), normal with extended soaking and extra spin and prewash... I tried turbowash... Clothes are perfect. Though both are front loaders my previous Kenmore and this new LG cannot be compared (it like radial engine vs jet engine planes :) ) And the bonus - it sings :)

Wish it worked the way it should
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe I'm picky. Maybe our clothes are dirtier or stinkier than the average family. But I doubt it. I owned a small front-loading GE washer for over ten years and it cleaned clothes thoroughly. Stained clothes, stinky clothes, everything got clean. I had some issues with the small capacity and the fact that the matching dryer bit the dust, so we decided to buy a new set. I thought because LG washers and dryers had such great reviews from users and a leading consumer ratings magazine that it would be a great set to buy. We researched all brands, looked for the features and size we wanted, and found this set on sale. The problem? This washer simply does not clean clothes. They come out still dirty, or still smelly. I have tried the best-rated laundry soaps out there, both liquid and powder and have better results with powder. The main problem that I can see is it doesn't use enough water to get clothes clean. If you watch the washer operate during a cycle, it looks as if the clothes are barely wet and just slapping around in the tub. No sloshing. You really need the sloshing action to get the clothes clean. Trust me, I've owned a really good front-loader. You need that sloshing action, especially if you fill the machine fully, and I don't mean packing the clothes in tightly. With my old washer, I could fill the tub entirely and everything would get nice and wet, because you could see how much water was in the tub through the door. This one? No water line is visible, unless you go with the bulky setting. With this model, I recommend not filling this tub more than halfway full, which really defeats the purpose of a large-capacity washer. To get my larger loads clean, I usually have to resort to washing each load twice, or running a cycle on prewash and rinsing several times if I'm on a regular setting. I've also had some luck using the bulky setting to get more water in the machine, but it doesn't spin fast enough to get the water out before drying. Lastly, for the poor job that it does, the cycles last entirely too long. Having to wash each load twice means that you'll end up spending an entire day just to get through 4 loads. Yes, it's quiet and it doesn't vibrate excessively. Big deal. My advice? Buy the smaller-sized 3.7 cubic foot capacity which has better ratings, or use a strong-smelling soap if you want your clothes to have the illusion of being fresh and clean.

Amazing Washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great washer. The best I have ever owned. It cleans perfect, it's very easy to use, the delicate cycle don't just "wet" the clothes, it actually cleans them, and.... last but not least, the clothes spin so well that the clothes are almost dry. what an amazing machine.

Much better than my previous front load
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The is the first time that I've been compelled to write a product review. I've had the LG washer and dryer for 24 hours now and I'm quite happy. This LG system is remarkably better at cleaning clothes than my prior front load washer and drying. The 8 year old whirlpool duet washer we had consistently left clothes smelling musty with no trace of fabric softener or detergent smell. The cycles took FOREVER. After 4 loads with the LG, the cycles are finished within 5-10 minutes the initial estimate provided by the washer and the clothes come out of the drying smelling fantastic. I'm sure that the new duets perform better, but I wasn't going to take the chance.

Solid washer with one minor drawback
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall we love this washer. The turbo wash cycle gets clothes clean super fast. We also love other other cycles when the job calls for it. One minor drawback we noticed, and why I deduct a star, is that the soap dispenser stays wet after the cycle and if you don't remember to open it and let it air out mold will grow. We also didn't like at first that the tub started to smell after only a couple uses but then we discovered the magnet on the door that holds it open ever so slightly after a wash, great feature and fixed the issue. We also have loud knocking from our pipes when the cycle starts. I do not think this is related to the washer but instead to the plumbing in the house. When I have a plumber at the house I will ask him to check it out and if the cause is determined to be the washer I may adjust the rating.

To the prior reviewer from Philadelphia
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The plumber will tell you that the loud pipe noise is due to "water hammer." Most modern washing machines have water inlet valves that open and close very quickly. This causes a back pressure that makes your pipes bang. The fix is simple and affordable. You can buy 2 water hammer arrestors at the home improvement store. They screw onto the laundry faucets and then you attach the machines hoses to the arrestors. About $12 each. I just did this with my LG machine and it fixed the problem.

Great Performance and Easy on the Eyes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not my first frontloader washer but it's certainly the nicest I have had. It performs really well, is quiet, seems to use little water, and is really easy to operate. I like the Sanitize feature for washing my dogs blankets.
