Overall our last TROMM product lasted about 8 years and then the bearing were gone (too much to replace), so we bought another TROMM, since it saves a lot of water (and we wash lots of clothes, with kids, etc..). Overall, A GOOD PRODUCT, but like the other ratings, ITS LOUD at first. Lots of CLUNKING around as the cycle determines load and add water, etc....its a bit odd at first (as you think the things is broken), but that is just how they made this model. We got a GOOD deal at Best Buy (great customer service guy) but the "points" you get from signing up for the CARD is stupid and full of crude. They SELL YOU on signing up for the card and get "cash back" .....you don't. don't waste your time. its all stupid and the cashiers #and managers# know little about how all that works........ However, for 600 dollars, this is a pretty durable machine. The LONG cycle takes over an HOUR, so be prepared for that ! short cycle takes 30 minutes or so, but its all good either cycle. we would buy another one of these......its THAT good.

    Nice washing machine

We had already bought a high efficiency dryer to replace the one that died and thought it made sense to also get a HE washer, even though my 25 year old top-load washer worked fine. The reasoning was that a new washer would wring more water from the loads and thus make the dryer even more energy efficient. This washer had high ratings on Consumer Reports, and so far we have not been disappointed. We have had it for about 2 months now. It does a good job cleaning our clothes, though I don't think it gets them any cleaner than my old washer. It definitely produces less lint which means it is easier on the clothes, and it does wring the water out much better so our dryer takes much less time to dry. I also like that I can wash bigger loads, so I have fewer loads to do in a week. I can't say that it's lowered our energy bill any, but we've only had it a short time. The magnetic catch on the door has prevented any issues with odor or mold. It took me awhile to get used to the longer cycle times, but I like that I can set it for different soil levels. Overall, we are pleased with it. It is quiet and efficient. We do unplug it whenever there is the potential for thunder/lightning storms in the area - all those electronics would not be cheap to replace.

worthy upgrade from top loader washer

I was using a top loader Washer for 5 years ; two things I did not like about the top loader is that 1. Mine was not big enough and 2. It did not mix the soap well; after dumping liquid detergent into the bowl, I had to swirl around to mix it with water; plus the my clothes all smelled like soap - and it not rinse well. I had to wash two loads - once every two weeks. Now with this new front loader, I wash once every 2 weeks - one load only; just fill up the detergent tray (very convenient), load up the clothes and walk away; I like that it wet my clothes first before mixing them up with water. Also like the "extra water" feature. And one more thing: since it is a high efficiency model, I got $150 rebates from PG&E and local water utility company. Water hoses are provided for this washer - so there is no need to spend $30 on new hoses. Free delivery too! What more do you want? :) I paid $120 for extra 5 year warranty == $2/month. It's been 40 days since I bought it - so far so good! Highly recommended.

    Was dead in 5.5 years

I loved my LG washer model # WM2301HR which I purchased at Best Buy only 5 1/2 years ago. Now the bearing has gone bad. It is now totally dead. I paid $629 for it, and the repair will be $600. These machines are no longer built to last like the old top loaders were. They are expected to last around 6 to 9 years at most. That is not a great prognosis. The machine looks brand new, but is headed to the dump!! I was told that a top loader will last you 15 years, but just know if you buy a front loader, you need to baby it, clean it at least once every three months to cut down on soap buildup around the drum, and use only a shot glass amount of soap per load. I am saddened by the news that these machines don't last. It was great while I had it.

I had a Neptune and this is larger than the Neptune, it works very well. Takes some time to get used to the controls but doing it automatically works until one learns the ropes. Speaking of ropes, the washer is great, the capacity is incredible, but the accompanying dryer has some real problems. My laundry comes out in a combination of big balls and long ropes. This makes getting the job done a lengthy procedure. So far I've followed all the advice I can get, folding the sheets before putting them in the dryer, using shoes, balancing the load with small and large items, etc. etc. The Neptune dryer worked perfectly at drying. I cannot figure out what is wrong with the LG dryer, but unless I find a solution I'm returning it.

This washer is pretty quiet and cleans pretty well. It balances the load properly if needed. So far I did not have had to balance the load myself. I did not have any issue of the washer dancing around during spin cycle.

Please do yourself a favor and realize if you buy this, you are buying a mold breeding ground. All the positive reviews are from people that haven't owned this washer very long. We keep the door open and we wipe it down after washes, but still mold, mold mold mold. Impossible to get rid of.

Rusting out and second time we have had water leak

This washer washes nicely but in 3 years time we have had major water leaks! The first time I was covered under geek squad warranty. Today the exact same problem happened again and unfortunately I let my warranty expire. I take very good care of all my appliances. The corner of the machine where you put in the detergent started rusting by the second year. When I showed the repair man he said the warranty didnt cover cosmetic wear! Its rusting out not chipped paint!!!! Ive never wrote a review before but I believe the reviews I read before I bought this machine were short term reviews. I've had this for a little over 3 years. DON'T BUY THIS MACHINE

This washer is fantastic. I didn't have any issues with the smells other had mentioned, only wish they stood a little taller but we built our own pedistools and have been very happy.

I loved this washing machine for a few years. It cleaned clothes well and the features were good. However, in the past two years the drain pump has now stopped working twice! We replaced it once and I won’t be replacing it again. I don’t think six years is that old for a washing machine. I expected a longer life from an LG appliance. I’ll be purchasing a different brand this time.

    Lousy quality

Had the washer for one year and two weeks... of course it is past one year... but... in the course of that year, we have had two major issues when there should have been none. According to the manual, once a month you are to clean out a trap. We have never once found anything in the trap, but we do land up leaking water on the floor ever time we check it. No biggie, but bad design. At two months, that trap lost it's seal. The result was a deluge of water coming through our ceiling (two month old house by the way)... We had to tear down the sheetrock and start again. Now at a year (and two weeks to ensure out of warranty) the door seal is broken and there is a very slow but steady drip of water... I expect a LOT more from a high end product. My Frigidaire from my last house went 15 years without a single repair call. Dryer had one or two small ones, but not the washer... bummed I spent the money on this.

It's very large and pretty quiet. The best buy guys set it up but didn't level it so it shakes quite a bit when starting the spin cycle.

After my old Samsung toploader started doing the unbalanced load death dance, this was bought after much research and I couldn't be happier. As many have noted, this is a very very quiet machine and everything comes out really clean using very little detergent and water. Considering its price point, especially when it's on sale, it's a super value. Now I hope it will last much longer than the Samsung which was about 4 years old.

Folks that worry about noise and vibration on 2nd floor - forget about those worries. I barely notice that its on. Stress free quiet. Great washer and plays nice music when its finished. Glad I made the purchase! Don't need a pedestal - can't justify the extra $250. Delivery guy was great - arrived just when they were suppose to.

    Product Description is not accurate

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The description reads "A unique combination of wash motions thoroughly and carefully clean your fabrics, while smart features let you monitor the washer's status, using an NFC-enabled smartphone, even when you're not home." You can't monitor this washers status when you are not home. It is not wireless capable. You have to be standing next to the washer with your phone to do anything. When I called customer service, they said sorry you can't return it or get any money off even thought we put the wrong description in because it has been 32 days and you only have 30 days to exchange it. I bought this product and had it in the box for 3 weeks to surprise my wife with a washer she could check while not at home AS THE DESRIPTION STATES, and now I am stuck with a product the has been falsely misled by its description. I want a resolution.

    Regrettable purchase

Very disappointed with product and features of this washer. This is the 3rd front load washer I have owned and am very disappointed in the ability to customize wash options. This one was a little higher in cost vs another brand that I had purchased the last time, but I thought with more cost would come more options and features. I really regret not re-purchasing the brand I had purchased the prior to this one. Also, if you are buying due to a rebate, make sure you read the fine print on the terms and conditions to safeguard yourself against minor disqualifications. All around has been a very remorseful experience. Hopefully I can sell it in a couple years and buy another.

Door gasket leaks and catches pods and dirt

Detergent pods get caught in the door of this machine so the clothes have to be rewashed. Dirt and hair also land in the gasket even with wiping it out with each cycle. The gasket also leaks.
