I don't like the way either machine is working. I had one of the worst experiences in purchasing appliances from Best Buy, in my life!! I will probably never buy from them again!! It was terrible!!

    Good Washer So Far

I read a lot of reviews before deciding on this one. Having had bad experiences with a Samsung front loader before, I made sure to get the extended warranty as well for peace of mind. So far, this baby is working great. It's very quiet and very stable during spinning cycle. Most of all, it cleans my clothes very well. I would definitely recommend this!

    Amazing Technology for a Washer

I must confess, I'm a nerd. I love technology. However, I never expected to find such amazing robotics in a washing machine. This machine is insane. When this washer starts, it flips the clothes back and forth to weigh and balance the load. It also uses this portion of the cycle to determine how much water to use. Its like watching an artist making deft brush strokes on a canvass. The powerful direct drive mechanism produces fast, efficient direction changes of the drum. This in turn allows for effective but gentle agitation of the water, detergent and your clothes. I can't believe how clean everything comes out. The controls are simple. For most loads, it only takes 3 steps to get your load started. press the Power Button, rotate the large knob to select the load type, press the Start Button. That's it! There are plenty of presets that handle most wash loads you might have. However, you also have complete control to adjust just about every parameter you want: Add an extra rinse cycle, speed up or slow down the spin cycle, use steam or not, raise or lower the temperature of the water, etc. You can even download an applet to create your own custom setting and upload it to the washer. I haven't used this feature yet, but its nice to know its there. The unit is incredibly quiet. I never thought something that was spinning so fast could be so quiet You could have a sleeping child in the room and not ever disturb their slumber. This is my first front loader. It uses so much less water and detergent than my old top loader but still gets my clothes cleaner than my old machine ever could. Again, I'm simply amazed. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to others.

This machine is super quiet. I have a family of four with two small boys who get really dirty and this machine has enough capacity to only do a few loads a week. Our things come out smelling lovely with only a little detergent. Machine looks great, too. Yay! Best Buy delivery guys were great and did a tricky install in a tight space.

    Excellent Washer

We're so happy that we purchased this washer. After reading many reviews for different front-loaders, everything we read pointing in the direction of this LG washer, and we couldn't be happier. It's quiet, has plenty of different wash cycles and spins the clothes so efficiently that the dryer time is much less than what it used to be. Not sure why front loaders get a bad reputation, because this washer goes above and beyond to make sure everything inside stays clean, and odor and mildew-free. All of our clothes have come out splendidly, and we no longer dread having to do the laundry. I would definitely buy an LG appliance again.

    Good basic washer

I bought this LG washer to replace an existing LG washer of the same model that died after less than 10 years. A post mordem on the old one shows the spider arm that supports the stainless drum corroded to dust. This new one seems to have an even cheaper build quality. The features are nearly the same a decade later, with the same cycle offerings, except for a new self clean cycle. I bought it again as the prior model dida fairly good job of cleaning clothes, is fairly quiet in operation, and didn't give me Too many hiccups or breakdowns. The new model is so similar in appearance I was able to keep my old dryer. Only change is new light colors, control panel buttons, and sound effects.

    Major front loader improvement

We have owned this washer for 3 weeks and so far the product is flawless. The Best Buy installer never leveled the washer per directions, but I did and you can barely hear the machine during the spin cycle. Our 8+ year old Samsung front loader would make a banging noise during spin cycle due to a known spider arm problem on the Samsung when they get older.

This was a major upgrade for us and was amazed at how quiet the new washer is. Clothes seem to be coming out fine and for someone who is vertically challenged, the front loader is a blessing.

We needed to replace our old front loading Kenmore washer when it thrashed its tub. We did a lot of research and found that LG and Samsung are the most reliable brands now. This LG unit was well rated and had the right number of features, including the steam option. So far we have really appreciate how quiely it operates relative to our old Kenmore and how our clothes appear cleaner. While the cleaning cycles take a bit longer, having cleaner, fresher clothes matters more to us, especially with a baby.

This is my second front loading lg washer. The first lasted 8 years and thousands of washing with 4 kids and 2 dogs-it did not owe me a thing. The new one is larger and has the sanitary cycle which is great.I love the music that is played when the wash is done- so far so good- the only complaint is that it makes a lot of noise when the water is entering the machine, but I think I need something at my hoses to help with that. Delivery was seamless and efficient.

    TERRIBLE SERVICE

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this washer 2 weeks ago, but still don't have a working unit. First washer had a crack in the drain hose, and somewhere in the unit. This was realized after they installed it, and took my old washer and dryer away. I waited 5 days for them to deliver my second unit. Before it even got in to the house, the delivery guy told me it was broken and the door wouldn't close. The third unit was totally smashed in once the delivery guy opened the box. It never made it in to my house. After having to make a big stink and spending a LOT of time on the phone with Best Buy and the store manager and corporate, they rushed me a 4th unit early in the morning so I didn't have to keep skipping work. They swapped out the 4th unit with the 1st, which was still sitting in my house broken. On the first load I washed, water is now dripping out of the front of the unit, damaging my floor further. Washing machines are supposed to wash clothes, not floors. I still don't have a working machine, or a solution from Best Buy, I'm two weeks in without a working washing machine that doesn't spill water over my house, and I've already spent more than the cost of the unit just taking time off work for deliveries or trying to get a hold of someone at Best Buy willing to take responsibility and try and offer me help.

So far, so good after a few months. Performs as expected and is quieter than our older Samsung unit. Hopefully this one lasts longer than the 6-7 years we have averaged on washers as of late.

i love the results i get. my clothes are always clean. however i do have a question concerning the amount of water in the machine during wash cycle. you never see extra water no matter how small the load. is this what should happen or should i call for maintenance

Poor quality, circuit board and bearings

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased a top of the line LG washer and dryer for $2604 on May 30, 2009. I am single and only wash three loads of laundry a week (two of which are only 1/2 loads for this washer). I am talking only 6 changes of clothes, divided up into 2 loads and one sheet set for the third load each week. The washer literally still looks like new because it is so seldom used. I think you would agree this is very light use. Several months after my purchase the control panel went out on the washer. Now (November 2015) only a little over 6 years after purchase an LG certified technician has said the bearings are out. Estimated cost of repair $600-$700. I had two different companies give me estimates. The really bad part is that BOTH LG certified repair companies told me that this (bearings going out) is a recurring problem with LG washers. They said they "see this all the time". The bearings are an integral part of the drum spinning. Without them the washing machine does not work. Very light use and the bearings are out in as little as 6 years. As you are aware and probable agree, most washers last 15-20 years. There should not be recurring problems with LG washer bearings (especially when only light loads are washed). For the reasons mentioned above I would NOT RECOMMEND an LG washer to anyone. (To be fair...the dryer has been working fine).

    Better than I expected

I picked these mainly cause all the other front loaders in my area were sold out. I was basically settling for what I could get within my budget. The washer and dryer have far surpassed my expectations. I usually have to shut the door to the laundry room to be able to hear the tv because of the noise. Not so with this set. In fact I find myself forgetting I even have laundry going until the melody goes off. Another bonus to me is no loud buzz! A pleasant melody that the kids and j enjoy. I love that there's an app for it. It's super easy to use, and the child lock is my best friend!! I've only used it for 24 hours and it has fast become the favorite one of my washers I've ever used. Definitely more than I was expecting to get for the price we paid.

    Washer Broke in 2 Months

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We purchased this washer and matching dryer from Best Buy in December. The washer stopped working in February. Fortunately (or so we thought) we had purchased the service plan so we thought, no big deal, they'll come out and fix it. My husband scheduled the repair and was given a 4 hour window so he took time off of work to be home to have the washer repaired. First problem was that they sent one repair man after my husband had advised the person he spoke to on the phone that the washer and dryer was stacked so they said they would send two people. Once the repairman changed the part, the machine still didn't work. Turns out the mother board had also gone bad so we would need a new one. The repairman is not sent out with extra parts so there was nothing he could do and we stayed with a broken machine and had to reschedule. When my husband calls to reschedule, he is told the first appointment available is a couple of weeks away. After 45 minutes on the phone, he is able to schedule and appointment within a week. The appointment is today. Yesterday, I called to confirm which stop we were on the driver's route since, now I'm going to need to take time off of work to be home for the service, and was told that they couldn't provide any detail beyond 8-noon. I advised the person that this was unacceptable considering that this is the second time we were going to need to take time off of work to be home to have a machine repaired that we just purchased two months ago and she said there was nothing she could do and advised that there was no supervisor she could call nor could she have our stop scheduled as the first of the day. After a horrible and unnecessarily long conversation with her, she finally let me speak to a supervisor. The supervisor advised that someone would call me around 8 am to let me know which stop we were on the route and, as far as she could see, if the repairman was on time, he should be here around 8:30 am. I requested to be contacted 30 minutes before so that I could run home from work. At 8:45 am I still hadn't received a call so I called and was advised that the person would be here between 9 am & 11 am. How it's even possible that at 8:45 am I can be told that the person might be here between 9 am and 11 am doesn't even make sense. Is he 15 minutes away or not? This my first time ever writing a review but the whole experience has been so incredibly frustrating that I found it necessary to warn others. I'd like to add that I do not blame the repairman at all for any of this. It is the company that has been negligent and is providing horrible service. In summary, the machine died in two months and getting it fixed has been a nightmare.

Bad motor and bad Circuit board, terrible service!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Motor failed so that the washer does not spin after three years. Circuit board died after the motor. The motor is warranted for 10 years, LG only has one service company (called A and E) in Los Angeles area. It took them a month just to come and make diagnosis. Then they failed to show up on the scheduled day for repair. A & E service center did not apologize for the no show. LG claimed this is not their problem, that they have nothing to do with A & E, even though A & E is their only authorized repair company. LG customer service is very rude, and accuse me of speaking English with an accent. They sent someone who has an even stronger accent and who is incomprehensible to talk to me. This is very insulting and frankly does nothing to resolve the issue. I will never buy another LG product, ever.

Loud pounding and ridiculous water filter to clean

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Don't buy until you see the water filter that is to be cleaned monthly. It is at floor level and involves unhooking a small tube, then pulling the plug out and draining the water. I used a soup bowl (not a cup--you need a low container since the tube is just a 2 inches off the floor) and had to empty it twice! Then you have to twist and turn a larger plug and pull it out to clean. This is very awkward since you are doing it on your knees! Plus the washer starts with very loud pounding. My guests looked up in surprise and couldn't believe that it was a NEW washer! They thought someone was trying to get in the back the door.

I want to LOVE this machine. It's quiet, has lots of good features. Unfortunately, when it was installed, they switched the hoses (cold was connected to hot and vise versu). I guess I won't know for a few more days whether or not I love it
