Customers are impressed with the 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Ultralarge-Capacity High-Efficiency Steam Front-Loading Washer's quiet operation, excellent cleaning performance, and large capacity. Many appreciate its ease of use and the numerous features it offers. However, some users note that cycle times can be lengthy, and a few have reported issues with the door and spin speed. While some minor concerns exist, the positive feedback on cleaning and quietness is prominent.

LG Front Load Steam Washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a replacement for an older LG. The newer model has more cycles, including steam. I like that all the controls are on a front panel vs on the top back. You may want the noise dampening attachment for the water hoses for a quieter intake.

Fantastic Washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't a fan of front loaders until this one. Past ones I had would get mildewy and gave me one more thing to clean. I still wipe it down but don't have any problems.

Leaks from orange turbo wash spout
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG washer leaks from the orange turbo wash spout for about 6 hours after the wash finishes! I exchanged it for the same model after a Geek Squad exam noted leaky valve and recommended exchange. The 2nd LG had the same leak! It's impossible to keep the rubber dry because of the leak. It even leaked through to the floor. I have now scheduled a return and ordered a Whirlpool. We have an older, discontinued LG in another location and love it. I am very disappointed with this LG model. Compared to the older model, the clothes also seemed very wet after the last spin of this model. Best Buy has been very good about the exchanges.

Great washer for all size loads
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really was looking for a large capacity washer. Started with a new top loader but did not like results & water usage. This washer does a great job from the dirtiest to delicate loads. Love the minimal water usage. Only comment is that you need to let the outer seal dry or wipe to keep clean but this is an issue for all front loaders.

Love this set
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So we got the washer and dryer set. We did have problems with the washer right away, It was leaking from the top door area and from the inside towards the back of the drum. So much so we had to turn off the water supply to the washer when it was not being used or water would have spilled out of the machine onto the floor. It was a lemon. The good news is though we got the geek squad protection and Best Buy did an excellent job of working with us. We called in on a Saturday and they got us a new machine by Tuesday and now we couldn't be happier with the machine. No leaks, runs quiet and does an excellent job in cleaning our clothes, We love the features and have been doing laundry like crazy, Moral sometimes you get a lemon but with that geek squad protection we were fine.

Does everything as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this LG washer 4270 washer and marching dryer almost two weeks ago. My old LG 2230 washer pump died after 13 years. Washer and dryer both operate exactly as advertised. Excellent cleaning, drying and steaming results. So far, no leak problems as I have read others claim. If you are looking for the washer and dryer to communicate with your smart phone, HEED THIS...THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE APPLE IPHONE. Only android phones. I didn't care about this feature so no harm no foul to me. My old LGwasher and dryer operated flawlessly for 13 years and I expect these will do so as well. I give these machines 5 out of 5 stars for the quality of their wash an dry, which is really why we buy them. Right?

Washer cleans well and has many cycles
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really enjoying the new washer. Runs well and sings a little song when it's done. Enjoying the delayed start so we can set a load up to start after everyone leaves for work/school.

Big change from old Whirlpool

Nothing but problems!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m over this garbage LG calls a washing maching. Over and over no thing but issues. It shakes my house, it leaks from the front seal every time i wash even after having the seal replaced, it makes sounds like metal balls came loose, the mother board burns up every time you wash and its only a matter of time before you’ll need it replaced. Today my mother burnt out for the second time and left dirty water in it to spill out when the door was opened. This junk should have been lemoned long ago. But i didn’t push. I’ll never buy an LG product again . Now, i have to make sure my floors aren’t damaged because of this stupid machine .

Flooded my laundry room after 45 days of use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer was purchased, delivered and installed by a big box store along with the matching LG dryer. After exactly 45 days it has started pumping water out of the bottom instead of the drain hose. It appears the drain plumbing (hoses, pump, etc.) inside the washer has failed. My last washer, not an LG unit, was still working fine after 14 years; it had just gotten a little worn and ugly. In fact, the household that inherited that washer is using it today and I'm waiting days for a repair person to arrive just to look at my brand new washer. My point is how can I trust this product at this point? Even when it’s repaired I’m going to be afraid to close my laundry room door while it’s in operation. This washer has a number of features that are nice, but pretty standard in this size and price range. The premature failure makes me think it’s not a great value in the long run. This will be my last LG purchase.

Sour features and smell
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this washer for approximately 18 months. I wanted a front loader without agitator in order to wash bedding and sleeping bags at home. I have three children and also hoped to maximize the large capacity feature and wash more clothing in one load. My husband and I did a lot of reading online before purchasing LG and had seen favorable reviews. Perhaps reviews like mine get deleted, but this machine is not impressive. The complaints I have are not considered "repairs" so I just have to deal with them. When I do load it up with what might be called a double load at the laundromat, I notice hair and lint all over the clothing that does not get rinsed. I washed a single size sleeping bag that did not even get wet in the center (I was told by salesperson in Best Buy I could wash a queen size comforter). There is no such thing as HOT wash on "hot" setting; I have opened the door mid-cycle and checked the water and it is warm at best. I sometimes must use "extra hot" setting to get towels clean, but that makes the cycle over an hour long (towels tend to get sour over time because machine uses such a minuscule amount of water for washing and rinsing). The machine has a sticker on the front claiming "True Balance" but it thumps and rocks out of position trying to measure bulky loads like towels and blankets (measure="load sensing" which is a spinning back and forth action of heavy wet lumps of towels that are not suspended and balanced in adequate supply of water). I run triple rinse on most every load and use 1/3-1/2 recommended amount of detergent and still have residue. Steam cycles can take up to 2 hours to use. The door gasket gets more sour over time and requires more cleaning, more often. My regular day-to-day loads of clothing do get clean but only if I wash them in smaller/regular size loads. This machine has not saved me any time, but in fact, makes doing laundry take more time. There is also the added headache and time to clean the machine itself now, that I never had with old top loader. Do not expect this machine to be the same as a commercial front loader at the laundromat, with your clothing floating and swishing in visible quantities of water. Do expect loud thumping during load-sensing, long cycles for hot washing, and regular, diligent cleaning and maintenance of the rubber door gasket and drain. And even then you may still have a sour smell in your machine.

Great Machine for an indoor Swimming Pool
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buy this product if you are looking to have a indoor swimming pool. This product leaks gallons of water onto your floor and makes your floor clean as well! This product is complete garbage and thank god I got geek squad protection. I have a repair crew coming three weeks from today and hopefully they can fix it. The product is only three months old and having problems already.

Washed great for 6 months then needed repair
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Maytag for over 25 yrs. This LG washed the clothes well but we already had a circuit board go out before it was even 7 months old. It is a hassle waiting for a (factory warranty) repair, repairmen bringing the wrong piece, then rescheduling. I'm 2 weeks + without a brand new washer. I would never buy LG again.

High end washer that breaks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the washer dryer pair. According to repair man the washer tub has a known problem where a brace that holds the stainless steel tup in place breaks. To fix it you have to replace the the entire drum and the cost is as much as a new machine. First LG we bought. Always used Maytag and Whirlpool and got 10+ years with no issues. Going back to them.
