I bought this machine after my mom told me one major downfall about a front load, but told me to purchase one and don’t think twice about it. She told me that a front load machine was prone to cause a musty smell, but also said that if I were to leave it open when not in use, or just as we slept, that I would not be plagued with that problem. She also insisted that we make sure to change out the washer very soon after it finishes a cycle and we do that. This being said: This washer is very high quality. Not only do my clothes smell cleaner when I use this machine, but we are using much less water and do not have to do the guess work about load size and how much water to use - this machine calculates it itself. When each cycle is finished, a bell is chimed, my phone is notified, and the clothes, when transferred to the dryer, are simply damp — not really wet or soaked. This also runs very quietly in the background, which is an added bonus to the sloshing I always heard with my previous washer. I love the easy to use controls and that there is an option to add a mode via download. I have not used this feature, but I can definitely see how it can come in handy. I haven’t found much use for the WiFi capability it has other than it notifies me when cycles are finished, but I figure that as I buy new appliances, I will try to make them smart appliances just to see how this can be beneficial. One thing we quickly noticed is that this washer is temperamental to the detergent. I have only had a very simple washer before, so I did not realize that I needed high efficiency (H&E) detergent. We received error notifications until we realized our oversight in using the detergent we already had and we bought the correct detergent. Since then, we have had no issues. I am so pleased with this machine that I really want to purchase it’s mate, even though it is not yet time for a dryer replacement. I definitely recommend this washer. It is efficient and I am sure the cost of the washer itself will be compensated for in the savings it will have in our water bill. It is a smart washer, so these features may become more and more useful in the future and/or as we learn more about them. My clothes smell great and the washer gives the dryer less work with how much water it is able to get out of the clothes. I am very pleased and will be purchasing the mate in the future!

I bought this as a replacement for my 11 year old LG front load. While I do think my front loader should have lasted longer, it did a fair amount of wash throughout the years, I would calculate more than 5k loads. Knock on wood that my paired dryer is still working, rollers replace about 3 years ago, so far so good. this machine is quitter, a little larger and I love the wifi feature. Bearing issues on my previous washer drove me to a new machine as the service tech said it would cost more to fix than replace. I bought this as an open box that was returned because the buyer didn't like the way it looked when they got it home. Delivered with no box but everything was included meaning the drain hose however all packing tape was intact. So I got a great open box price...

    Odd for a Modern Washer

We bought this to replace our Kenmore front load that ran perfectly for almost 15 years. This machine cleans fine and the interface is easy to use; however, there is regular maintenance required. You must drain the foreign object trap regularly - at least once a month. The longer between performing this task the more a sewer like smell starts to develop. Also, when trying to drain the trap using LG's directions before opening it up you will get water all over the place - so have a towel ready. A real design flaw considering our 15 y/o Kenmore front load had zero maintenance. I would not recommend this for hallway installs, or over hardwood due to the required draining and odor problem. Had I known about the hassle and quirks of owning I would have never bought.

This is replacing another front loading LG washer. I had that one for 8 years and 8 months until it broke. Disappointed that it broke so soon yet I felt it was too old to be worth calling a mechanic. So I decided to buy a new machine. Wasn’t going to buy another LG but when researching Consumer Reports gave all its highest ratings to LG. So I bought this one that looks just like my old one. Is working well and is so much quieter than the old one, big improvement. Only thing I do not like is what others have mentioned about the panel being hard to read. Was not like this on my old one. I have since put a small flashlight near the washer to be able to read the settings when I change them, ie. I usually change the temperature to a cold water setting.

We initially were looking at this washer because its depth is less than other brands, which was a plus for our laundry area configuration. We have been satisfied with its performance, it holds quite a sizable load, and is very quiet. Clothes are well wrung, which makes for reduced drying time.

This washer replaced the old, inexpensive model that came with my house. It was a bare-bones top loader with dials and limited settings. This washer is fabulous. It uses less water, has wifi capability (which means you can dl an app that you can open to see how much time is left on the load, alerts you when the wash is done, allows you to download other wash cycle settings, and helps when you're having issues; hopefully, we'll never need the latter), and gets my laundry super clean while using less detergent (it is an HE machine and requires HE soap). The things I love best (aside from the wifi connectivity): 1-The fresh care option that works for up to 19 hours. It keeps spinning the wash to keep it from getting musty, and in my experience, keeps the clothes from getting wrinkly. 2-All the setting options to get your perfect wash done Of note: 1-You do have to wipe dry the machine a little when you're done washing, including the door, the rubber seal portion around the opening. You also have to leave the soap door open and the machine door open to let it air dry, all to keep it from getting moldy. (This sounded like much more of a hassle than it actually is. Based on reviews I read, I got a chamois and leave it hanging on the drying rack in the utility room. 2-The display is easy to read in my brightly-lit utility room, though I do believe the ppl who mentioned having difficulty reading the many words on the screen because there's no backlight.

I do really like the washer. It is quiet, has easy to use dials. I only have one complaint about something that there was no way I had of knowing about when I was in the store. There is a panel where you can manually customize things like the water temperature or spin rate, but unless you place your unit in a spot that has pretty good direct light on the front of the machine, it's not easy to read the panel. It isn't backlit, and the lettering isn't in a contrasting color from the panel. So now I have to either use a flashlight or install some of those puck lights or something, to help with that. In all fairness, I haven't read the manual yet, so there may be a way to adjust the panel lighting, but that seems unlikely.

Have only had this new one for about a month, it took them about a week to deliver it and the dryer ... which was a bit of a bump as our washer had finally played its last tune! I like this one BUT.. I had to go back into the showroom at Best buy because I thought... where’s my inside light ?? No light inside to see your clothes anymore ?!! Who decided that ? It’s very dark in that washer and socks like to hide!! Next I agree with the others; I have mine stacked; I’m short ... thought maybe it was me, but I can’t see or read those tiny words either !! I have to get a step stool and sometimes my iPhone light to see the settings ! Am starting to memorize the columns!! So when I’m in a hurry I can just push from below ;) Hoping I don’t push the wrong one !! Otherwise It’s cleaning our clothes great ... I did see that back water thing in my fill cups once or twice. Wasn’t worried. Holds all our clothes and has enough settings .. was very happy with our last LG set. I did clean that internal rubber liner all the time to prevent mildew ! This one seems smaller and easier to clean. Looks like they made a modification on that feature? But I do miss the lights inside and the back lights of my settings !!

The washer tub is much larger than what I had, so I can actually combine small loads and not overload it. FYI - the time that is indicated at the start of the cycle is adjusted as the cycle progresses due to the sensors updating on soil level, weight, etc. So it really does not take as long as it originally indicates. Washes very thoroughly and is so much quieter than previous machine. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone. Thankfully it comes with a printed operation/use/care manual which I refer to often! Lots more bells and whistles than previous machine! (reflected in 'ease of use' category below). Great machine!

Not really sure why anyone would need WiFi for a washing machine. I’ve never used this feature. Would’ve bought this machine without it since it was already a good value. Easy to use. Not too loud. Good size. Hope it lasts.

The first one started having problems after 13 years of reliable service in a household doing lots of laundry. I still did research before purchasing this washer. It has all of the features I wanted and a few new ones. It has a very large capacity but it does both large and small loads very well. It is very easy to use, the controls are pretty intuitive. I love the fresh care feature which is similar to the wrinkle care on my LG dryer. Once set, it occasionally tumbles the laundry until you come to turn the unit off. I also enjoy the little song it plays at the end of the cycle. If you set it up for wi-fi, it will send a notification to your cell phone that the cycle is complete. It is also energy efficient. Glad I chose another LG.

This new LG washer was a replacement for my old LG front load whose bearings went bad after 12 years of heavy use. The cost of the new unit was only $200 more than the estimated repair to the old model, so it was a no brainer to buy a new washer. It's even MORE excellent than the older model. The capacity is a bit larger. It seems to wring out more water. The controls are equally easy as my older model. Just a few new bells and whistles on the cycle options. It's super quiet and I love how the system "calculates" additional time for certain load sizes or dirt levels once the door is closed. I've been EXTREMELY happy with this LG washer so far.

Love the front loading. Although it holds a lot, you still have to be careful not to overload because it will shake and move. But it gets the clothes clean and has a great spin cycle.

DO NOT BUY THIS WASHING MACHINE!!! Worst appliance purchase I have ever made. Cleans great until it breaks Bearing went bad in less than 6 months and the warranty repair is still not complete after 6 plus weeks. Upon opening up our washer to repair (after many weeks of waiting for the replacement parts to arrive), the warranty repair person found that the motor is also bad and needs to be replaced as well (the bad bearing also caused a seal failure). We now have no washing machine to use (spending over $20 a week at the laundromat with a broken and disabled washing machine in our house sucks!!!) and LG now thinks it makes more sense to spend more on parts and labor than our washing machine originally cost us (machine has to be completely torn apart to do the repair) instead of just replacing the bad machine with a new one (the supervisor at LG customer service tells me that he is "following protocol", their products would probably be more affordable if they had a little more common sense or used a higher quality bearing). Lessons learned ... LG Apparently Doesn’t Care About Their Customers Satisfaction and it would appear that they don't make a quality appliance (our previous front load washing machine made by a different manufacturer lasted over 15 years).

We bought the washer through the progressive leasing program and were approved and we finished the transaction in less than 25 minutes from when we walked into the building. We shopped online and walked in knowing 3 it 4 models to look at. The sales people were VERY knowledgable about the financing and the models and what was on sale. The delivery was EXACTLY on time. The delivery people were smart, clean, and explained everything. The install took less than half an hour and the delivery people explained the use carefully. I love the machine! When I buy my dryer it will be HERE and it will be through the Progressive process!
