Instead, we got a bad case of water hammer which is a loud banging in the pipes throughout the house every time the washer filled. Water hammer is incredibly annoying and apparently can cause leaks in your plumbing if not fixed. We found on the internet that this is a common problem with LG washers nowadays. We never had this problem with the old LG. We had to spend $32 on Amazon to buy a pair of water hammer resisters and go through the hassle of installing them on the brand new washer to fix the problem. LG should fix this issue in their design and Best Buy should have known this might happen and taken an opportunity to sell us the resisters rather than making us go through the hassle. I guess they don't build 'em like they used to.
