Broke @ 18 Months, Repair Costs More Than New One!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I learned a lot. Just replace seals & bearing, YT vids say. No, LG took care of that: the part that corrodes and breaks, every time, is the aluminum spinner aka spider. Before this model it could be replaced, but now it cannot, the outer drum is cemented instead of bolted. To fix, replace the assembly: $679+shp+tax parts alone! It lasted only 18 months…this is Anti-American!!

Posted .Hi there, Thank you for sharing your experience and the lessons you have learned. It is disappointing to hear that you had to replace seals and bearings only to discover a more significant issue with the aluminum spinner. We understand your frustration with the design change that makes it difficult to replace the part, leading to a costly replacement of the entire assembly. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Your feedback is valuable, and we will ensure it is passed on to the relevant teams for improvement. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this situation. Thank you for expressing your concerns, and we are sorry for the anti-American sentiment you feel regarding this issue. Horrible machine /very poorly designed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned many different washers in my life. I have never had one that I had any complaints about. This, washer, however, is the absolute worst. Starting from the first day, the chemical odor was horrible. According to LG, it will go away. I got that reply after 2 weeks of constant messages and texts. I wonder if they have a quota of replies before they can just ignore an inquiry. More important, the machine does not clean well. We are an active family and wash multiple loads a day. About half the time the washer decides to run a fast load and the other half a very long load. The website says it can be due to the size and type of load. Our experience is that the sensors don't work at all. It is frustrating to dry laundry loads and have them reek when they are done. Additionally, the choices of load, speed, temperature etc are useless. You have to start the load, then stop it, in order to make changes with any of these things from the apparent presets. We end up doing a normal load each time and going through three steps to get close to the type of washing we desire. Lastly, the information provided on the machine is minimal to none. Perhaps there are other ways to go around the presets but we could not get any information online. No complete manual available. I wish I had purchased the Samsung model that we just replaced!

Posted .Hi, Susan. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with the LG Washer (WM4000HBA) model. We understand your concern about facing these challenges, especially when doing multiple loads a day for an active family. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations. Let’s address your concerns and see how we can help improve your experience with the washer.
The chemical odor you mentioned is typically due to manufacturing residues. Running a few empty cycles with hot water and a washing machine cleaner, like LG's Tub Cleaner, should help eliminate the smell. For guidance, you may visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71kKEb5FNnI. For cleaning performance, ensure the detergent and fabric softener are used within the recommended amounts, as excess can affect washing efficiency and leave residues. https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-washer-clothing-not-clean-properly--1337626293790.
Regarding the load variability and sensor behavior, running loads balanced and within the machine’s capacity can optimize cycle performance. If adjustments to speed, temperature, or other settings are not saving properly, resetting the unit by unplugging it for 10 minutes may help recalibrate the controls. For detailed instructions on customizing cycles, the full user manual is available online on the LG support website by searching your model number.
We’d love to assist you further and explore solutions tailored to your needs. Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport so our team can address this directly. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we’re here to help. ^Juvy

Great product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Literally asked Best Buy staff which washer and dryer they would purchase if they had to buy a set in the store and this was the recommended one. Looks great and it was within our budget so we trusted our professional Best Buy representative and bought the set. They arrived the time we scheduled it for and installed it no problem. The washer and dryer works efficiently and also has many useless functions, but it gets the job done well. Shout out to Timmy, he was patient and walked us through all the details!

Excellent purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent purchase, we use both the Washer and Dryer every day. The installers were very kind and helpful! We purchased a washer and dryer for another house through another company a few years ago and had a bad experience and had to hire someone to come to the house to balance the washer

Works and it's quiet doing so.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT forget to take out the shipping screws when installing the washer, or it will be very noisy. Works well, uses less power and water than our old washer (2010ish model don't remember the brand).

Fantastic Washer. App unavailable?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this during a recent sale, and can't say enough about the washer itself. Installation and set up was a breeze. We haven't used all the features yet, but the quick wash is perfect for freshening up garments. The spin cycle leaves clothes practically dry, which will further increase our energy savings. We have been able to wash our king-sized comforter in the machine, and the extra capacity helps to avoid spending all day washing smaller loads. The only complaint I have is with LG and their Thinq app. Our Samsung A10e phones apparently don't have the firepower to run the app? What in the world is so complex about the app? My wife installed it on her (older, to us) phone, and all it does is report washing status, advise when you need to clean components and the like. The app seems to be useful, but the developers disappointed me with the lack of compatibility.

Very nice front-loading washer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this washer (together with the matching dryer) to replace our old washer/dryer combo (10+ years old). We never used a front-loading washer but decided to give it a try. This washer is very quiet, efficient, and versatile with different modes. The difference in water efficiency between old and new washer is night and day. The permanent press cycle (both washer and dryer) works excellent for dress shirts. This is neither the cheapest nor luxurious model from LG. It seems to be a very good option for anyone who are seeking for a balance between price and quality.

Happy with new LG front load washer
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this despite family members throwing hate at front load washers. My 18 year old top loading Whirlpool washer and dryer were going to outlive me and I wanted new. The LG models won due to high user satisfaction. What I mostly notice after the change is the increased capacity, reduced water usage, and reduced detergent usage. It's very easy to wipe down the gasket when finished and I dry out the soap area too. The door remains just slightly propped open (if you want) and is held there magnetically. Clothes come out clean, there is no noticeable difference from my old agitator machine. The wireless app is novel silliness and for me there was no need to spend any additional money on a pedestal.

Gotta Love LG
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got tired of my top loader washing machine, rated as a water conservation device (it basically did a poor job of cleaning my clothes, and often times damaged by thin work out shirts), so I found this at the Best Buy store in Honolulu. It was an open box demo, so I got it a little cheaper than normal. Thus far I have loved this thing. its' high tech, cleans my clothes very quickly, has a separate cycle for towels, bedding, and whites. And it conserves water without damaging my thin, delicate clothes. Love it.

Works ok
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not impressed with so-called high efficiency technology. I have had this machine for over a year. I had no desire to have a 'smart' machine so never hooked up the wireless. The washer itself does not work as well as the 15 year old LG it replaced. It does not have a hand wash cycle, but does include the ability to wash without spinning, or to run a short rinse and spin cycle. It has a 'turbo' wash function, for which I cannot find a definition anywhere. The only thing I have noticed is that it shortens the cycle and the clothes don't seem to get as clean. It can be disabled for some cycles, but not for others. I have problems using powdered detergent as it doesn't dissolve well - even in warm water. There's just not enough water in the tub. There is also not enough to use it to soak clothing prior to washing - I now have to do that outside the washer. The wash cycle for delicate clothing is much rougher than before, so I cannot wash underwire bras or some sweaters and now have to do them by hand. I find that things do not smell clean unless I run a pre-wash, then multiple rinses are required to remove the detergent. I suspect I am using more water than before because of these additional cycles. The compartment for adding detergent and bleach/softener is poorly designed in my estimation. There is a piece that actually has to be removed to use powdered detergent, and the pre-wash section lets liquid detergent leak all over prior to starting the machine. It is not all washed away when the machine starts, either - I had to remove the compartment and clean the sticky soap residue both times I tried it. So I have gone to placing the detergent directly in the drum. The construction of the compartment also causes it to hold a lot of water, so I have to leave it open until it dries to prevent mold. The controls themselves, where selections are made for the wash cycle, also leave something to be desired. There is faint writing on the inside of the plastic, which is then backlit from inside, making it very difficult to read, especially as my basement is not well lit. It's good enough to not send back, but nothing to write home about. The instruction manual tells you to lie clothing flat in the drum and stack it. Since when is that needed?? In my prior machine I could just stuff it full and it worked. With the new one, if I fill it to capacity, or just wad clothes up and toss them in, nothing gets clean. I will likely look at other brands when it comes time for a new one if this one is not completely redesigned by then. So longer wash time, smaller (more) loads and not necessarily as clean when compared with the old one. I c
