Picked this washer based Consumer Reports ratings. I replaced a Fisher Paykel Ecosmart which was my favorite washer of all time, unfortunately it has been discontinued. This has the similar direct drive system and smart features. I like the space, it's much larger drum. Still not sure about the no agitator but so far so good. Not having one is supposed to help with not tearing up clothes. The LG works great, fast and reasonably quiet. Washing heavy blankets is a challenge, have to babysit the washer to help balance the load. Also on installation, I had to call LG to help with the test function. Thankfully their customer service department was open on a Sunday and they were very helpful.

After previously having a front loading washer, I knew I never wanted one again. We LOVE this washer and would buy it again! Huge capacity, quick load times, gets clothes clean, stains come out easily. We have had no issues with balancing or clothes getting tangled and not having an agitator provides so much extra room.

Works great! I really like that I am able to wash larger loads such as my comforter as well as smaller delicate loads. The clear lid on top so you can see your clothes being cleaned is a nice touch. Also, it's quite which is a nice bonus.

I have been very happy with this washer. It is easy to use, quiet and gets the laundry clean. The large drum can handle bedding and other large items, but does small loads quickly too.

Great washer. Very quiet and so easy to use. Large tub can handle king size sheets and pillowcases. Read the directions. Loading of clothes is explained for machine’s proper balance and sensing system.

When selecting this LG washer I looked on all the large websites and all washers were within $2 of each other. Old washer broke so couldn't wait for a sale. Then looked at the online reviews for this model as well as checked out the Consumer Reports. CR gave this model a great review. So without even going to a store to look at it I ordered online. I was delivered a few days later. I couldn't be happier!

This washer uses surprisingly little water to wash. I watched the entire first load I did - I didn't think the clothes would be clean but it did a great job. Very quiet too even on the high spin mode. This model isn't actually wifi capable even though the description implies. But what benefit could you get from that anyway? Great capacity also

I love this washing machine I had a Samsung front loader since 2006 but it took forever to wash cloths and when a load was balanced it shook the whole house so I decided to look for another spent a lot of time researching and came up with this one.First off it washes twice the amount of clothes that the older one could handle and in less than 40 minutes I can put my big queen sized 1000 thread cotton sheets in and they are done in less than a half hour and not only clean but no wetness .I really put it to the test the first two weeks doing heavy comforters ,curtains and throw rugs quiet as can be and everything came out clean and not needing to do another spin to get out the water.I don't understand the negative reviews as I haven't had any issues with the clothes not getting covered with water .I am a picky person and rarely write reviews but this machine has cut on costs and time spent doing laundry .I am tickled with this machine.

We have had this washer for a little over a year, and I am happy to report that we are very pleased with this washer. It is well designed, has large capacity, and cleans clothes very well and gently. It is designed to be water efficient, and we have saved money on our water bills since replacing our admittedly very old washer (so it was probably a low bar). The washer was moderately expensive, but so far the quality of the washer seems to be worth the price.

I am very pleased with my new washer. It is very quiet and it has been superior in clothes cleanliness. I have had the chance to try most of the options and they are very simple to use. This has been a good purchase.

i did so much research before purchasing this..i got the matching dryer and couldn't be happier...this thing is amazing...i was a bit intimidated by tall the features at first but it's actually very easy to navigate...love all the chiming sounds it makes when turning on and when done with the cycle...fits all my big blankets and comforter...VERY impressed for the price..the inside is so nice and shiny ..i know that's a bit vain but after having a 20 year old washer it makes me feel good LOL..

We have only used it three times, but so far it's definitely nice and quiet. Cleans well, and easy to set up wash. We haven't tried all the settings, but just the automatic measuring of the load is awesome.

This washer is easy to use and quiet while running. I chose a top loader because I always leave behind something and want to go back into the machine. Washes clothes great. Love that it has no agitator.

This washer is all kinds of cool! My husband is an essential worker, and we love the option of not filling the load each time we want to wash his work clothes. This machine will weigh the load, and only use as much water as is needed. The drum is huge for when you do need to fill it up! We can easily put our queen comforter and sheets in together. It isn't as quiet as my old front-loader, but it isn't really loud either. You will hear it spin, but it won't be disruptive. My only negative on this machine, is that the drum will tear your cotton undies if you do not use the gentle cycle or a garment bag.

I LOVE this washer! I had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 20 years, so earlier this year, I decided to replace them with new Maytag models. The washer, with an agitator, was horrible! It overflowed when I tried to wash a mattress cover, and it was very noisy. I did some research, and read about this LG washer, which has an impeller, not an agitator, and a glass top, so you can watch the clothes being washed. Best Buy allowed me to exchange the Maytag washer and dryer, for this LG washer, and matching dryer, and I highly recommend it.
