Nice TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this TV for 2 months now and I am quite happy with it. I replaced a Samsung 43" plasma with this TV, I like this one much better. Take it out of the box and plug it in, that's it, I had to do nothing at all as far as fine tuning, picture looks great. I have a sound bar, I don't expect a TV to come with great speakers. Overall, very happy with this LG. Researched before buying, everything indicated that this LG was "the one to beat" and so far I have to agree.

Good for a bedroom or someone on a budget
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently returned this TV because once I got it home I realized it was still too small for my living room. When I moved in to my place I had an old 32" flat panel but it was too small for the living room. I figured incorrectly that the 47" would be sufficient. In fact it was ok except when looking at from the back part of the living room. When I was returning it at Best Buy the salesman said this was a common problem, people don't buy a big enough TV. I plan to get a 60" TV to resolve that issue. You need to turn off the auto energy saving mode. Too often it would turn off the backlight to save energy, but then the picture is too dark without the backlight. The 47" LG TV had very good picture quality once you adjust it to your liking. However I noticed that when switching channels with the remote, sometimes the channels would not change and I would need to press it 2-3 more times to make it change. This may be because of a slow processor in the TV. The other problem is that when the channel finally changes, sometimes a channel that was never programmed into it would display, even though there is no signal. Flipping the channel on the remote and back again would not come back to that empty channel. Other than that, I thought the sound was not too bad for built-in speakers. It won't sound anything like a sound bar or external speakers, but it is not tinny nor shrill sounding either.

Good but decieving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this LG TV last week and so far have been pretty satisfied. While it doesn't have many ports, it does have the amount that I need so that isn't a problem for me but may be a concern to others. Besides that the only thing that I notice is while its advertised as a 120hz panel, I cannot see the "soap opera effect" that 120hz is associated with, making the it seem like the TV is only 60hz. I could very well be wrong, I'm just telling you what it looks like to my eyes. As of now, maybe the $50-$100 cheaper 60hz model would be better for you.

Amazing TV at an amazing price!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not looking for anything to fancy and didn't want a smart tv. I did a lot of research and this was supposed to be the best value at this price range. I has not disappointed one bit. I don't have cable or dish but have it hooked up to a blu ray player and wii. It is amazing. Even over the air channels look amazing. Only con, and it's not even that bad, is the speakers. I like a full sound so I have it hooked up to my theater system and it is the complete package. I would highly recommend.

Won't turn on after 9 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the first 9 months this tv was pretty good. The picture was nice, it has solid features, and looks nice. My only complaint during this time was the sound/volume was not very good and always had to be turned up pretty high (would be better with a soundbar). Oh and more than 2 hdmi inputs would have been smart. A few weeks ago it started randomly not recognizing any inputs when it was turned on and would just say "no signal". That continued for a bit until it just simply would not turn on at all. The light flashes, remains lit, and nothing happens. The only way to fix it appears to be repeatedly unplugging it from the power source, although it has been days since that actually worked. I have called LG who say they have parts "on order" but will "let me know" whether or not my problem is covered by the 1 year warranty when they open it up. The tv has never been moved and is in prestine condition otherwise, so I will be very unhappy if for some reason this becomes my fault. I've seen a few reviews similar to this at other retailer sites, but overall the tv has good reviews, so I guess whether you get a lemon is just luck of the draw. I'll post an update when/if I get the problem resolved.

Just What I Wanted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was one of Consumer Report's recommended. The picture is beautiful, and the sound is fine. The remote is real easy to use. I hooked it up to a Roku3. I purchased a $100 stand with a swivel that works well. I found once you go over 47" on a TV, the stand/mount it a lot more expensive.

Great quality TV - Best for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and i planned a budget to spend $600 max for a quality, good size TV. We spent about 2 weeks looking around different best buys, different retailers, etc. This is a great tv for the size, the brand, and good quality. Very easy set up, most tv's for this size and specs go past $650. It's a 2013 model as well. Very happy with our purchase as usual.

Great TV after some fine tuning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After doing some fine tuning in expert mode picture is as good or better than Samsung I would definitely by this TV again and recommend it Sound could be a little louder that is only reason it does not get 5 stars paid $499

Expected better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded to a larger TV, from a 20/30 inch screen Insignia to an LG. Heard many good things about LG and it was time to make the change, good price, easy to set up but in less than two months the TV didn't want to turn on. However BEST BUY was awesome enough to exchange our TV since we are Reward Zone Members we had 45 days to make it happen. Not so great is the sounds, I would recommend a sound bar. There are times we have the volume at up at 40-50 just to be able to hear. Picture quality could be a bit better, since some models have some awesome pictures. I have tried to adjust the picture quality, upgraded to HDMI monster which helped but I still expected more.

Good deal on very good tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Due to way too brief manual and sketchy LG website, takes some investigating to discover all unit can do. But, once you're on top of it, a very nice set and inexpensive for a 1080 x 120 LED TV. Be forewarned, has only digital sound out , no analog / RCA audio outputs.

Decent picture - poor customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though the overview lists a swivel stand and LG says it has a swivel stand, it doesn't. Have spent way too much time on the phone trying to get this corrected, the part number on the stand is wrong and the replacement was also wrong. The part number on the packing list is correct (ABA......) but what was shipped (ABS.....) is wrong....AGAIN! I give up trying to get them to understand, the communication isn't good when dealing with customer service people with very strong accents. I have 2 other LG's that have swivel stands, I know how they work and how to assemble them, this is NOT a swivel stand they are sending. The picture is good but still has motion blur when watching sports or fast action scenes. The Tru Motion is set at the factory and can't be adjusted. Not as good as advertised but OK for the price.

Keep looking for a better option ...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While it worked, it was a rather nice TV. All 15 months (3 months out of warranty). Who thinks they need extended warranties from LG? Paid cash (my mistake) so no additional warranty from a credit card company. The Insignia I replaced this doorstop with was paid by credit card so even if it decides to die in 15 months, I will have coverage. Known issues with the circuit boards on these flat out failing.
