Customers are pleased with the large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, quiet operation, and ease of use of the 5.0 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle High-Efficiency Steam Top-Loading Washer. Positive feedback also highlights the spacious tub size. While some users noted a musty smell and occasional reliability issues, these concerns were less frequently reported than the positive aspects.

My wife is a massage therapist so our washing machine was always going doing loads of sheets. Now with this one, one load and done. That is six sets of sheets and still room for more. We have washed things on many different cycles. I work in the hospital so Sanitize function is important. One thing to know I had to ask LG about "cold"setting is "warm/cold" on an old washer. "Tap cold" is cold/cold.
This washer was the best purchase made in a long time that pays us back all the time. Make sure you check with your utility companies for rebates. We got over $100 back between water and electric on our utilities in instant rebates. DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS WASHER TO MY FRIENDS AND MY WIFE's COLLEAGUES.
Also nice sings a pretty song at end of cycle, (you can turn it off).
Also is very quiet.

I have had my top loader LG for more than a month and I love it! Can wash so much in each load- no balance issues if you read the instructions . Clothes get super clean and I love the song at the end of the cycles. PGand E bill has also gone down significantly

This washing machine is wonderful! It's quiet and so many awesome cycle choices. Only bad part is I'm fun size so reaching the socks on the bottom can be hard. Well worth it though. Read the Manual to get the most out of this machine.

We love this , it works great, senses load for best washing parameters and really easy to use. We wanted a top loading machine because we saw mold come in the other style.
the button dial is easy and neat.
I would also like to mention with this , I have become a best buy customer. I initially ordered it from Lowes , but on delivery day they just did not show up, ppor communication and could not tell what was going on. I went inside best buy, got better price and delivered right on the delivery date.

I’ve had my washer a few years. When I wash darks, in particular it doesn’t seem to rinse enough. It leaves soap residual. So I do an extra rinse cycle when I wash darks which helps but not 100%. Today I noticed rust by the bleach dispenser. I don’t bleach that often. There is also rust in another area as well. I am very disappointed in the quality. I’ve never had this with my whirlpool washer.

The lid will not stay open when putting dirty clothes in or removing when clean.
No rinse cycle.
Cannot shut off the loud chime that goes off when turning on the washer or when it's done. Because of this it's not quiet.
The detergent tray is always full of water ...the water from a previous load ...ick.
The water hose will not hang over the sink (as All of my other washers EVER have done. I had Best Buy out 3 times to try to repair the situation. Nothing worked. I had to duct tape & use binder clips to make sure the duct tape held tightly. (See picture below) it flooded my laundry room otherwise.
It looks generic & is embarrassing when someone goes into my laundry room.
Not what you'd expect for a $900
washer.
Do not buy it.

Let me lay this out there first, I was very apprehensive about buying another HE washer because of the problems I had before but I love this washing machine. I had not ever used this type of top loader before without the tall agitator and was unsure it would clean the clothes to my satisfaction. I had a front loader prior to this that barely lasted 5 years before the mold issue made it unbearable to put my clothing into it so I wasn't going to do a repeat and buy another front loader. I don't see that (mold issue) being a problem now that I have this top loader and I can leave the top wide open to air out. Delivery and setup was outstanding and I immediately put it through it's paces and washed several different types of loads. It handled everything I put in it and had so much room to spare I doubt if I will ever wash a load that actually fills it up. I have now learned to measure the correct amount of detergent for my loads and the cleanliness of my laundry is not affected by small amount of detergent or water the machine uses per load. I will save money and enjoy clean laundry at the same time.
There are so many different cycles to choose from it covers every type of laundry I plan to use it for. I know some people do not like how long the cycles take to wash the clothes but I'm OK with this because I now wash fewer loads. I am so very happy I chose this machine. I have the matching steam dryer and the set should last me for many, many years to come. If you're on the fence, get off it and buy this machine, you won't be sorry!

This was our family's first "upscale" major appliance purchase. The only reason we purchased this appliance was a failure of our old (but faithful) agitator - Maytag - finally stopped agitating after more than 2 decades of uninterrupted, repair free service.
I did a lot of reading and research (as many people do these days). Agitator vs. impeller, longevity/durability, freedom from the need of repairs and reliability, the typical type/cost of repairs, capacity, user reviews from multiple websites/retailers, flexibility/options, efficiency, top vs. front load, etc...I probably spent weeks looking and sifting through reams of comments, many times getting bogged down in analysis paralysis.
One of the things I tried to find online but could not is the depth of the machine when the lid is open (from the lid back to the rear of the appliance). The service porch my washer lives is narrow and has cabinets above the washer/dryer location. I needed to know how far out from the wall I would need to place the washer so I could open the lid (which opens front to back) without hitting the cabinets. I even called LG direct and couldn't get an straight answer. There are many machines which do include this measurement detail when you look online - this one doesn't. Since this machine is taller than the typical 20 yr old washer, space is a consideration for my type of arrangement.
We went with top load to avoid the mold issues associated with front loaders. We chose the impeller so we could wash comforters and blankets - no matter how you slice it, agitators take up space in the machine. It seems that the big concern with these programmable machines (as opposed the the old fashioned but very reliable spin dial) is the circuit board and associated control electronics. These appear to be the achilles heel of programmable washers in terms of repair - the costs appear to be substantial if one of these boards goes out.
We have used this machine for about 6 months. With regard to impellers, there are reviewer comments mentioning two big drawbacks: tears to clothing and clothes coming out not clean. We have not experienced any of these issues. There are no rug rats in the home so I can't attest to pants saturated in mud and grass stains but I get fairly grody doing the yard work and car work - never had a cleanliness concern for any of our clothes. The washer is fairly quiet and we have also never experienced out of balance spin cycle issues also mentioned in some reviews. Certain this machine is far more quiet than our old agitator which banged the floor (no matter how perfect the feet were), rattled and knocked itself and was constantly shifting it's position. The capacity is truly stunning for a washer (especially in comparison to the old one we replaced) ...a small adult could almost sleep inside the thing. There is clearly room for any comforter or blanket we could ever possess (and probably more room than the two of us empty nesters will ever use beyond those large blankets and comforters). Back in the day, when the kids were being their dirtiest selves, I could see how a large capacity machine like this would have been a real time saver by cutting down on the number of loads - probably by a margin of 2 or 2 1/2 loads in the older machine equaling about one in this machine.
There are reviews which complain about clothes being twisted up and intertwined when they come out. This can happen with some clothes but really not a big deal in our hands with our clothes.
The sanitize cycle really takes washing to the limit - be prepared for well over an hour for this cycle - we love it (we are both in health care so we like our work clothes clean). We purchased the stainless/graphite - it is really beautiful (for a washer). Operation is straight forward. You can stop and add a forgotten item if needed (an issue with some other impeller machines - the doors lock audibly one they start washing) . No reliability or operational issues thus far.
We are quite satisfied and would recommend this to a friend any day of the week.

Amazing washer, have had it for exactly a month, the features on this washer are amazing. My wife absolutely LOVES it. Have read one or two bad reviews on it, my opinion is to read the owners manual entirely to get to know the features and outcome of all features and different selections that can be made with certain cycles and features. Its so gentle on clothes its incredible, I am glad we went with this washer being our first he washer, capacity is awesome and so are the features, having a family of seven capacity is great. Also having a daughter with asthma and allergies, its awesome that its certified by the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America. Have read the owners manual entirely and understand the different things the washer does, some reviews out their say some things and the owners don't even know that's the way the product is suppose to perform, talking about he washers in general not a certain brands. But its a fantastic washer.

First, our sails person, Thomas, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the differences between the various machines which helped us decide if the machine we picked was the right one. So far my wife and I are very impressed. The washer is very quiet during all cycles, uses less water, cleans very well and so far we have not experienced any of the loud banging from out of balanced large loads, like we did with our old washer. The spin cycle is very smooth and quiet. The modern controls looked a little intimidating, (I’m an old guy), but the book instructions were good and clear and easy to figure out. This is a very nice looking and well-designed machine. My only concern is the large amount of electronics on board. We live in an area with frequent lightning and storms that cause power and brown outs. It would be nice if there was some built in protection. So far we have had no problems and love the new machine.

Words cannot describe how awesome this washer is. Easily can fit 3x the clothes my old one could. It's whisper quiet. All of the things I was worried about in a new washer (water usage, electricity usage, clothes not getting clean enough, musty smells) are not even close to a factor with this washer. And every time the wash is done, the song at the end of the cycle makes me feel like I've triumphantly rescued the princess.

My old washing machine broke down so I decided to go ahead and get a new washer and dryer set. Boy, I'm glad I did! This washer drum is HUGE but the overall size is actually a little smaller than my old one, and it fits better in my small laundry room, and my clothes are actually looking cleaner than with the old washer. I got the white model as it was a little less expensive, but it has some really nice looking trim, so it's not stark white.

This full capacity washer holds the volume of 3 loads from my old washer. It cleans great and really does a nice job of getting so much more water out of the clothes in the spin cycle. It's quiet. I also like the music it plays when it's done but you can turn that off if it isn't your thing.

I purchased this washer back in July 2015, so I feel like I can adequately write a review. This washer makes me love doing laundry! There is only my husband and I, however I wash everything that is not nailed down in my house and this makes the job much easier! We have 5 cats and I am constantly washing our bedding, the cats bedding, blankets, etc. It is HUGE compared to our old washer, that we still have and use for my husbands work clothing, since he is a bricklayer and I do not want the concrete and dust in the new washer and will hopefully extend the live of our LG. I can easily wash all my bedding for our king sized bed and still have room to throw in clothes. This comes with a lot of bells and whistles. I will admit, over 2 years later and I still haven't used some features. I love the sanitary cycle. I have washed our car mats and they have come out looking brand new. The only issue I have ever had is with the fragrance pods that I throw in. There have been a handful of times that the pods don't completely break down during washing and I get white powder residue on my fabrics. Other than that I have no complaints. I had a family member warn me not to purchase and LG products-she had issues with her washer and dryer and they constantly had to call for service, however this has not been my experience. I don't have any issues with the washer smelling like mildew. After each wash I leave the lid open so it can air dry and prevent any smells. I am so happy that I decided to go with a top loader and not a front load washer. Would recommend this washer and am satisfied with my purchase. I can see this washer being a huge time saver for families since it is so large. Just remember you also need to buy the appropriate sized/matching dryer!

Have used for a month and am very pleased. I run a lube shop and wash my uniforms in it weekly and am pleased with the results. I was worried about not having a center post to help clean clothes and using less water, but am not disappointed. Clothes come out clean every time.
With any high efficiency washer, make sure to buy HE detergent only, and avoid the ones that say for HE or normal washer. They are designed to work differently based on water level and the amount of soap suds produced. The soap cost is identical for the same brand of detergent in my experience, so why buy a washing machine for about a grand and not use the correct soap?
Do not regret purchase and have not had any complaints so far with noise level or cleaning. Would buy again.

I've had my set for a month now. Read all the reviews and concerns, then made my decision, and at this time, I'm very happy with it! Cleans very well, and is a very quiet. The concerns I read about were easily dismissed, and I have not had any of them repeated. We got the matching dryer, and it's a dream, too! I actually don't mind doing laundry now! I go around just looking for things to wash/dry! lol I'd been researching these for several years, so when the prices finally came down reasonably, we went for it! Make sure to do your homework first. When you get your set, READ the manuals, cover to cover FIRST, then keep them handy as there are a lot of things to know.

I have only own this washing machine for a little over a month but I love it so far. It's quiet, saves water and yet it cleans really well. I love the big tub plus all of the options I have for the different loads. I just throw everything in and set for my load and it is ready to go. Everything comes very clean and I really like the big tub for washing blankets, comforters and bedspreads.
