Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, quiet operation, and ease of use of the 5.0 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle High-Efficiency Steam Top-Loading Washer. Positive feedback also highlights the spacious tub size. While some users noted a musty smell and occasional reliability issues, these concerns were less frequently reported than the positive aspects.

Re-reviewing after 1 year of use.....not so great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am re-reviewing this washing machine since I've now had it for over 1 year. First I want to say, save your money on the steam feature; it is useless. The machine does NOT clean well. Most of the time if the washer is more than 1/2 full, clothes will come out with dry spots where the clothing never got wet at all! I almost always have to use the Water Plus feature, and that is not even always enough. The clothes also come out all knotted up. I wish I had kept my 18 year old Kenmore with the center agitator; it still worked much better than this new machine. I got rid of it when I replaced my dryer. I figured I would get the complete set since it was so old, but now I am sorry. The dryer is not any better.

Disappointed - Does not conserve water.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washer because I wanted to conserve water. I was really excited about the "green" aspects this unit claims to offer. I washed several loads of clothes without issue. When I washed a blanket and a duvet together, I noticed the spin cycle kept running. Every time I would check on the wash, the remaining time kept reading 19 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes. I finally shut the washer off. Apparently the wash was unbalanced - though I did not get an error message and the machine did not turn off. This washer continued to add a full drum of water, shift the wash, and drain in attempts to balance the load. This happened countless times before I realized what was happening. This process just wasted a massive amount of water. I called Customer Service, not knowing what the issue was - they were no help - they were just reading from a manual and the smart diagnostic dept. was closed. What's the point of "smart technology" when no one is available to assist? I ended up removing the duvet and the cycle finished but what a huge waste of time, energy, and water! I don't know who the genius was that decided auto fill was a brilliant idea for a "water smart" washer. The unit should provide the error message and shut off. Don't plan on leaving the house if you buy this washer as you will need to constantly monitor it.

Excellent work horse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine is the one to get if you have a lot of people with a lot of things that need washing all of the time. We run this machine at full capacity throughout the week - kids bedding, dog beds, teenage girl glitter, boy stink - handles it all without an issue. Plus, it's fun to watch!

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Big tub - fits king size comforter; Lots of options - soak, steam, etc.; my wife loves it, I like it better than our old LG front loader (no soak option) Cons: the options are too hard to read when they're not highlighted -- took a while to find the soak option

Great choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the new washer, it's effective at cleaning and pretty quiet. The first one delivered squeaked while agitating and I just couldn't live with that. I called Best Buy and there was no problem getting a replacement delivered. I had the new one in 2 days. I had trouble with the size of both washer & dryer even though I measured in the store. The dryer vented at the back and I needed the side vent, well that's a kit you have to specifically order. I went to Home Depot and picked up what I needed not the whole kit and had a local handyman side vent it and place on 2x4's in my laundry closet. Works great and fits in the closet now. Lot of work to be able to use them but I love them and get so much laundry done in half the time due to the capacity. Wish home builders made bigger laundry closets, I've heard most apartments done fit the newer models.

Worked well for only 7 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washer and I was extremely happy with it. The design is nice and it's really quiet. The reason I'm giving it a 2 stars is because the washer stopped working. Now only have two cycles. Fill water and drain water. It doesn't even spin anymore. I have a service call scheduled for and I'm waiting to see what they will say.

Clothes come ouq
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG washer we bought in Nov 2014 leaves stains, debris, and discoloration on our clothes after washing. We bought an LG top-loading washer in Nov 2015 from Pacific Home and Kitchen and since the first load we have noticed issues. The washer leaves stains, debris and discolorations on our clothes - the come out dirtier than they go in! We have had technicians to our home 3 times and have tried a variety of fixes per their suggestions - try more detergent, try less detergent, try tub cleans, try water softeners, try less clothes, try more clothes. Nothing has helped. The last technician came and admitted the washer is not working normally, but he could not diagnose an actual problem. After waiting days for customer service to call us about a follow-up (which they assured us would happen), we called them and were given a similar run-around. Today we spoke to a supervisor in customer management and he said they get complaints like this a lot and "can't replace everyone's machines". His solution was to send another technician out to look at the washer. We told him at this point we needed them to do something more he said he could not help us. He could not give us any details on what the technician would be looking for this time, or what a possible solution could be - basically he told us there is no solution, even though we are dissatisfied and under warranty. LG is not standing behind their product or providing satisfactory customer service.

returned unit not satisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I exchanged this unit for the LG WM3570HVA front loader which works much better. I really wanted to try and like this washing machine but there are a few downsides that I could just not accept. The first is that it does not spin fast enough and the clothes do not come out as dry as a front loader. The wash cycles are also very long, using the allergen cycle with extra rinse takes 3 hours! Even the quickest cycle in turbo mode took almost an hour. It also does not wash bulky items like comforters as well as a front loader. On the plus side it's well made and has a quality feel to it and there are lots of options like HE, steam, turbo wash, and a HUGE capacity which is why I got this in the first place. Overall, I do not recommend this washer, front loaders are much better.

It's a water saver machine........
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like all water saver machines, it doesnt fill enough water to cover the clothing completely and this in turn sometimes leaves residue soap on your clothes. It cleans your clothes by pulling water "through" your clothing, not by agitation like the old and better cleaning washing machines do. If all you do is wear your and clothing in an office all day and come home and peal them off, then these types of washers are fine for you.

LG Washer

Poor, poor, Very Poor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is perhaps the worst investment I have ever made in an appliance. I had a Whirpool top load washer that saw a repair person one time in 18 years. This LG cannot do one load without having either a uE or UE code. I have called LG and followed their "lame" recommendations of selecting a medium or low spin cycle. They recommended using fabric softener in certain loads.....(are you kidding me!) This washing machine is too advanced for its so-called technology. Furthermore, every time it experiences a uE code, it fills back up with water trying to balance itself. Wow, that's energy saving. Such a Terrible, Terrible product!!!! Totally Frustrating and Disgusted! Spreading the word!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Unreliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced our old washer (of 17 years) with this Samsung beauty. So far, it has required a $200 repair, TWICE. Some clip keeps breaking and causes the washer to hold water instead of draining. Meanwhile my old, 2 setting washer, is still going strong in my college kid's apartment. When we are forced to replace this washer in the next year or so, I will not go near another Samsung.

Horrible washer, DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a horrible washer. I read all the reviews before purchasing. There are times that I have to rewash my clothes because articles are still dry when cycle is over. It has an anti vibration system that adds more water when off balance, this happens about every other load (even when washing a half load) then it takes over two hours to wash a single load. The main switch board on mine broke before we even had it for a full year, trapping wet clothes in the washer. Since I live in a rural area getting someone approved by LG was a terrible experience and an over 3 week process. I wish I never bought this washer and would buy another brand if I could do it again but I don't currently have the funds to do so at this time.

Less than desirable outcome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love this washer. My first LG Front Loader lasted from 2004 until now....it would have lasted longer had I known to clean the gasket out. So I decided to try a top loader. I researched everything! This washer was top on consumer reports. So I purchased it. It holds a lot of clothes so my washing has gone from twice per week to once every other week!! But now that I have had it for a little over 30 days I am noticing the BO smells from my boys clothes is not coming out, some clothes NEVER get wet, and the clothes are all twisted up. I tried to exchange it, however I called at 29 days after delivery and they said it was a 15 day return window....I just discovered that being a Rewards Member Elite gets you 30 day return. Too bad the person on the phone did not know this and told me otherwise. Today marks 32 days. I will try tomorrow to exchange it for the front loader. If not Geek Squad will be busy with me. I want them to fix this so I can have clean clothes. Please avoid this washer at all costs!! Oh and this is the second one I received. The first one arrived DOA and they had to send me a second one. One more random thing- to turn off the signal you have to press and hold the Extra Rinse button. It is not very responsive and LG should have thought of that. You will press it and wait wondering if it is working. If you don't turn off the signal your toddler will think the ice cream truck is coming every time the washer ends! Which is funny!

Washer fails on the very first wash.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this LG washer 14 cycle on Black Friday, since then I've been having problems with the washer. Every week I've been requesting an exchange because the washer starts dripping water slowly by the next hours or so, you end up finding all your floor full of water. Within a one month period, I've been exchanging the washer four to five times already. This last time it ended up releasing the water and detergent to the floor while it was in the washing process. Honestly, I don't recommend this washer.
