I love my new washer by LG, we've owned one since 2018, a major part went on it, but we have GEEK squad plan, which provided us with a new updated LG washer, works well, and always worth the extra for protection plan!

What is wrong with this washer: 1) Water Level. The water level is controlled by the washer sensor which NEVER calculates the amount correctly. By this I mean the top of the clothes do not even get submerged. If your wash is 6" deep, the water level is barely 4" deep. There's a Water Plus option to add more water, but you can only select it AFTER the cycle has begun AND it does not add much (I would estimate maybe 1 gallons worth) AND it is cold water only. 2) Water temperature: the washer does not actually let you use hot water even though "hot" is an option for water temperature. This washer tries to "save" hot water by limiting the temperature such that "hot", "warm", and "semi-warm" all feels the same - tepid. This is useless if you are washing badly soiled clothing or need sterile wash such as for those with a skin condition. 3) Faulty design - no center post agitator. Like all "high efficient" washers, there is no center post for agitating the wash. This has 2 major problems: a) If there are air pockets trapped in the wash, it will just float on top of the water. There is nothing to pull it down into the water or collapse the air pocket. b) Washing soft clothes or anything with a drawstring will cause the wash to clump together in the center leaving a badly tangled mess that you have to untangle. 4) No manual override for lock in case of power lost. The washer locks the lid whenever the cycle begins. I lost power in my home and the lid of the washer could NOT be unlocked until power was restored - 12 hours later. I could had manually washed it and hang it out to dry in less time than that. 5) Mysterious function: Early in the wash cycle I had paused the washer and left the lid open because the water level was too low for the amount of clothes and I took some out. But before I finished and continue the wash cycle the machine started up and drained the tank without me touching ANY of the buttons. 6) Does not clean well and not really high efficient. If you put the wash through a 2nd time WITHOUT detergent, the water still turns soapy - meaning the first time, it never actually rinse out the detergent properly. And I use the correct amount AND the right type of detergent. I'm forced to wash my loads 2 times and sometimes even 3 times before the water is clear, so I am not saving any water or electricity. 7) Bad LG service. This product is services by LG service company. While Best Price people tried to help and seem genuinely care, I got the run-around with the LG service company who first tells me the technician scheduled to come to my home was running late, and then changed the story to he came by but no one was home, to he called and no one answered, so HE cancelled the appointment. There were 3 people in my home and there are 3 phones. You cannot drive up to my home without being seen and all the phones are turned on and working. If I had known this was going to be my experience with LG, I would had paid the $600 to repair my old washer instead of spending the money on a new one PLUS the service warranty. But I learned my lesson and this is the last LG product I will ever buy.

The washer works great but if you don’t pull out the detergent tray after every use and make sure to drain the residual water mold starts growing in the slot that the tray slides into. We didn’t notice until it started to smell. I was able to clean it with bleach and now I just dump the water every time and he mold has not come back. I just wish it wasn’t an issue to begin with

The more I use my washer the less I think I like it! My cloths are coming out looking like they have been "braided or knotted" together. I am also noticing my cloths are beginning to pill and fuzz ball. Some of the clothes I have had for more than a year, and never had this problem are now starting, as well as some of my newer items. I have had the washer about 3 months now. ..I will say, I really do like the matching dryer.

This is a great washer and easy to use without any problem.

For everyday preprogrammed cycles it's okay, but God forbid if you want to tell it to do anything else. Can't set it to rinse in warm water, for example. Can't dye fabric without a major hassle because you have no idea how long the cycles run. I just thought I worked around this by using the "soak" cycle but when I tried to just stop the machine to soak another 30 minutes it began rinsing. Just give me an old fashioned machine that lets me decide temperature, wash times, and agitation speeds. Dang!

A real workhorse. Dries clothes evenly. Glad I bought it.

Not a best in class washing machine. This washing machine continues to have issue with load balancing due to the electronic gadget. Bottom line this washing machine is a bad design and not a durable washing machine to wash heavy load. Even though it's a 5.0 capacity

After about two years of owning this washing machine it stopped working. It simply wont turn on. We reset the power, do the hard reset over and over again. Occasionally it works again and will work for a few weeks and then stops working. Customer service was unhelpful. Since it was out of the 1 year warranty we would have to pay for a service person to come out... but could qualify for a one time courtesy service call if it got approved by a supervisor. We had to wait for a call back to schedule service in 5 business days. Well they never called! Of course when our own repair man came out it turned on right away. After being glitchy for 3-4 months now it wont turn on at all. I would save your money. Do not buy this poorly made machine from a company that also has poor customer service.

Not sure where all the positive comments are coming from. I have had my machine for less than one year. I’ve had three service calls. I have a PE code that keeps showing up and all service companies are unable to figure it out. Three service calls later, LG has yet to send out a fourth and it’s been two weeks. It takes me sometimes 4 hours to do one load because it’s intermittent and if you shake the machine, it just might work. I have to restart in the middle of various cycles. Very irritated to pay so much and I have to either finish my clothes in the sink or take to a laundromat. Going to take the financial hit and buy an old school agitator machine and throw this piece of junk out.

Leaves black gunk on clothes even after taking the machine apart to clean entirety. LG blames the problem on using fabric softener but I’ve never used fabric softener.

DO NOT buy this machine! You will regret it! I cannot believe that LG would actually sell this piece of garbage. After 2 weeks it stopped working. LG took about a month to get a service person out; then another month to get the parts. It NEVER adds enough water so I have to stop the machine and restart it. To call what this machine calls "agitation" is a stretch; the clothes barely move during the wash cycle, how can they get clean? I would gladly have returned this appliance if i could. Now I stuck with a piece of crap; my 12 year old machine did a better job. The engineers who created this machine should be fired. When I sell my house, this washer will go with it so I can buy a Speed Queen or Maytag, both of which were recommended by the service techs sent out. They agree that this machine is a rip off.

Less than 6 months old and already doesn't work. No problem, just call and get it fixed right? But, I have to wait 5 to 7 days for a call back and I still don't have a repairman scheduled. Just come out and fix the washer! Unbelievable and I am very disappointed in my first and last LG purchase.

I bought this washer 11 months ago and I have a large family and we do a lot of Laundry. I was told this was a great washer for big family's. the washer stopped agitating the clothes and the hot water didn't get hot everything was washing in cold. I called LG they sent out people to fix it and they have replaced all the parts that can be replaced and the washer can't be fixed. LG refuses to give me a new washer. The repair company told them it can't be fixed and they will not replace this machine. DO NOT BUY LG they don't stand behind their products!!!!!!!

After 4 years this is a piece of junk. It won't drain, it will not go through the wash cycle completely, and it gets out of balance very easily. We bought an extended warranty but it expired after year 3. To fix it I would be better off buying a new machine, one without all the electronics.

Avoid all LG products! They make it almost impossible to honor their warranty. Long story but LG will put impossible obstacles in your way if you have a warranty issue! I am a retired Army Colonel, not easily flustered or frustrated but LG has done just that. PLEASE avoid All LG products!

Brand new under warranty and I’m on Day 134 without it working. LG can’t fix it and won’t replace it. Waisted $800. Time to buy a Maytag

Do not buy, as many others stated the disk on the bottom comes loose after each use. The washing machine sounds like a machine gun and does a poor job cleaning clothes, will not buy LG again.
