Bought the machine in June. In November, I reported to LG that it made terribly loud squealing noises. An LG technician came out on November 20 and agreed it sounded terrible, but he couldn't identify the cause. He consulted LG engineering and returned on December 10 and replaced some parts, and it made it worse. He said he'd have to consult LG engineering again. After I followed up multiple times he got back to me on December 19 and said "I received word back (from LG engineering) that as long as it washes and gives no error messages, the noise is normal that machine." They tried to explain it away by saying it depends on load size, even though I told tech that I don't do heavy or uneven loads and he even tested it with half full, balanced load and it still squealed loudly (it squeals even when it's empty!). Basically, LG can't figure out what's wrong and doesn't want to pay to replace the machine, so they effectively said "shut up and just deal with." While other brands may have their issues, I'd caution against buying LG or at least this particular washer.
