So Far So Good

We have only had this machine for a short time, but so far we’re quite satisfied. The capacity is excellent and the range of cycles provides appropriate cleaning for different types of loads. The towel / bedding cycle is particularly helpful. The spin and drain function leaves clothes just barely damp, making for faster and more efficient drying. One final plus is that this machine runs much more quietly than it’s predecessor. (Make sure you level it properly to get maximum quiet.). Overall, it appears to be living up to its (carefully researched) reputation for quality.

So far our family of 4 love the LG washer. It has had quite the workout as we were so far behind on laundry with moving. We also purchased the matching dryer. I love that the washer has the automatic detergent dispenser, both have such a huge capacity, and they’re so quiet compared to our previous washer/dryer set. I have not had a chance to use the steam option on the dryer yet but it surely will beat a wet rag tumble with the wrinkled clothes lol. I’ll be back to this review if for some reason our review needs downgraded, otherwise we wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again.

What is there to say - it's really effective at what it does. Powerful, efficient, gets good results at large loads. Haven't used it with wifi controls yet. One particularly neat little feature is the detergent reservoir - You just fill, and it'll automatically sense and dispense the proper amount for the load, and can hold enough for a large number of loads at a time. Helps keep the detergent cost down and prevents over-soaping the drum.

Love it so far and am trying it without a pedestal (I’m 5’2”) and it’s been perfectly fine! Now I have space for my laundry basket which gets it off the floor, finally!! I got this model to replace my 12 yo LG, and so far so good! It’s roomier and has more settings. Love the athletic, additional gentle settings, and the storage for detergent and softener (vinegar in my case). It’s nice not having to add it to every load.

I would rate this a 5 but the first washer was defective. The tub tilts backwards and water wasn’t draining properly so my clothes were soaked towards the back of the washer. I contact Best Buy and explained it was happening every few washes. They immediately made arrangements to replace the washer. The new washer works great. Love the automatic dispenser for detergent and softener. It does a lot of loads before needs refilling. The tub is huge and holds a lot of clothes. The wash time is less than my old washer. My old washer took 1 hour a load., this washer senses the size of the load and most loads are done in 10 minutes. The only thing I regret it the color Steel Grey, it’s a beautiful color but if you don’t have a light directly over it (my washer is in a basement) it’s hard to read the dial. I use a small flash light. But it’s because of my basement lighting if you have a well lit room you should have no problem. My clothes come out much cleaner than my old washer.

This is THE BEST washing machine ever. My previous Samsung lasted for 10 years and did a great job. The new LG has managed to make our white clothes whiter including old cleaning rags. It's easy to use, intelligent and the alerts can be turned off. The matching dryer is also a pleasure to use. They are a powerful but quiet pair. Delivery and installation was very professional.

CONS: Contrast of the menus on the dryer is bad, very hard to read the text. Plan on using the app for everything or go get your readers, you will need them. Why would anyone pick light gray on dark gray is way beyond my imagination-major blunder on designers part!
HEAVY! Be sure to have Best buy deliver it and have them put it in place or plan on having a good appliance dolly. Forget about getting it up or down stairs!
PROS: Love the automatic dispenser! So amazing quiet that we can start the washer and go to bed and sleep without being awakened. Handles a big load with ease and ZERO balance issues. With controls on the front, you have lots of room on top for laundry basket and etc. Love the LED lighting inside so you can check on it without needing to open the door. App is nice so you can program the washer without having to get your readers for the poor contrast menu labels on the control panel.

I'm a loyal customer of Best Buy. After using 4 weeks, I really like the washer and dryer. They are so quiet, efficient, and washing clean. Especially its steam function makes my clothes soft and smooth. Best Buy technicians installed them professionally, they checked the level and make sure works fine finally.

This washer gets all the dirt and soap back out of clothes far better than our top loader high effeciency, or our front loading Maytag. The resivoir for detergent makes starting a load that much easier as you don't have a soapy measuring cup to deal with. The remote start is less useful than I expected, as you have to enable it every time after you have loaded the washer and then it causes the door to lock in preparation - just it a good fit for my usage case. Bought at outlet for a great price

It’s hard to buy a washer because there are so many reviews that are positive and negative from different prospectives. However I decided to pull the trigger on this one and replace my whirlpool of 4 years that had built up mold in the unit. What can I say on LG? So far so good. I was impressed with the app and although trivial in nature as the machine has to be physically powered on in order to make it work, it does a really great job of alerting when the stuff is ready. Next the cleaning abilities... we washed towels and other clothes right away. They all came out clean and the water was extracted properly. The unit was pretty quiet also. It is always a little noisy when it hits a high rpm speed for draining, but not bad. So from whirlpool for the last 15 years to Lg. I’m happy so far. Note to those reading- it’s “recommended “ by all manufacturers to leave the door open after the washer has been used to help dry the water off the rubber ring to help prevent mold build up.

It rocks. It’s not loud, and the capacity is massive. Allows us to consolidate what would be 3 loads of clothes into 1 load without sacrificing clean or dry time really. If you have a larger household, just get it. The capacity will save you from having to mentally note rotating the laundry nearly as much during the week, and you can let go of the hard choices of what gets cleaned first because of limited size. The stress reduction alone is worth the cash.
No issues otherwise, the auto dose feature on detergent makes it a solid choice if you have a few laundry users in your home who chronically over or under use detergent, as well just fewer opportunities for spills and one less step between you and the inevitable bin of unfolded clothes.

Quiet, takes a big load, and seems to balance itself well. I love that this washer measures out the proper amount of detergent and fabric softener from tanks that only need to be refilled every week or two. Not really using the net connectivity, but I guess that is a plus.

Really wanted to love this set, because it is really beautiful. Overall a good washer. I have already owned front end washers since they first came out; 4 different sets and am familiar with, steam, etc. It performs very well in that area.
I have noticed that you must use steam for work out clothes or anything that has an odor from sweat and it is harsh on clothing. Had to re wash my son's clothes from using a normal cycle since they smelled unwashed even with the turbo added.
biggest complaint is the fact that it will not dispense enough liquid softener to combat odors and soften the clothes. I have it on the highest setting for softener and medium for detergent, Clothing is not stained and just light perspiration not off the chart stinky and you can barely smell it or feel it's softening effect in a regular load when finished on any type of cycle. After multiple washes of different types and the same results, I then ran an additional rinse cycle and added it manually to the rinse cycle and it left spots on the clothing like a grease stain. Had to pre spot them and wash all over again. Obviouslly, it is going to take a little time to figure out a way around this problem. Also, I have never had this before in other front end loaders and have the same kids using the same deodorants.
Not as happy as I thought I would be; feel like my old duet I just gave away was a better washer:( If I can't resolve this my rating will go down.

This washer can wash very large loads of laundry including blankets, comforters, etc. Super quiet and the notifications you receive when the laundry is done is something that I thought I would not use but now I feel I needed it.
