I bought this LG soundbar and woofer after going to the store to initially buy a basic soundbar. However, when I tested the basic sound bars, the sound, although decent, was not what I was looking for, i.e., deep, rich sound. Then I overhead the LG soundbar playing a movie and was immediately hooked. Of course, the display has all the equipment for Dolby Atmos sound, which blew my ears away, and this LG soundbar is Dolby Atmos ready (you need an audio receiver that is Dolby Atmos ready, of course). So my next item to buy is an a/v receiver. Even without an a/v receiver, sound is amazing for movies, music. I'm very happy with it.

Even without extra tweeters, this sound bar throws sound all over the place. After a little work trying to connect the wiring to my TV, this is truly a great product. The sub thumps and it's really easy to hook up to WiFi and other audio devices via Bluetooth.

After hearing this sound bar at my local BB store I made the purchase and came home with the biggest smile on my face ! .... but then .. I hooked it up to my lg oled and while testing for a few days my neighbors were getting upset ! So after much thought I decided to return because it made no sense to have a $1k sound bar that I couldn't really take full advantage of. Living in apartments is such a bummer. This sound bar made all my movies come to life ! Best sounding sound bar that I have experienced especially with Dolby atmos ! I would rate 10 out of 10. My living room is a perfect square 12x12. Ceiling roughly 9 ft. . If you got the right size and no neighbors this sound bar is for you !

The LG SJ9 hands down the best sound quality next to Bose sound bar that was offered at the store. I choose this one over the Bose sound bar because I was able to get the sub-woofer included. Otherwise, if I went with Bose sound bar I would have to dished out another $700 for the sub-woofer and even more for rear speakers later on if I wanted them. Another feature I’d like with the LG SJ9 is the top speaker help eliminate the need for rear speakers. I use to have a Bose Lifestyle 321 system and it last 10 years. The only down fall was all the wires to all the speakers. So, I decided to upgrade to a new sound bar for today’s technology. So far, I am happy with the purchase.

I got this as an open box special at the Riverdale store and I couldn’t be more pleased. For a sound bar it puts out clean crisp sound, and the bass from the sub is huge!!! Arc compatible and Dolby Atmos compatible. You’ll love it!

Price was why I knocked it down a star, but so far I've been very happy with the quality. Fairly easy to use. No it's not a receiver but it sounds great and I hear surround separation fairly well. Great fit for our needs

Great for those wanting Dolby Atmos. While the samsung version has more vertical effect, this one has great sides to act as rears. For its price, well worth it. Even better if you have an LG TV too

After my Panasonic plasma died last year we upgraded to a LG OLED TV and loved how well it looked. For a long time we lamented the Panasonic speaker bar that we had paired to the system as it was too tall to use with the new TV. I spent 6 months off and on looking at options and thanks to a $100 discount I purchased this and was very very surprised as to how well it fills the room with sound. Overjoyed with its capability and the sub does. Good job rattling the house when our favorite movies are played. Not disappointed.and well worth the money.

The volume is plenty. The base is above average. The sound quality is good to great, not excellent. The surround sound was not great. The Atmos was rarely present if at all, which would be much better if you control the height and distances because each room is different. If lower priced, it'd be great for the size of it compared to wiring speakers. It'd be much better if you could add wireless speakers later, but alas those options don't actually work. Forums are on it, but sadly LG is not.

We have had a couple Sony soundbars, the most recent of which was a very top end one. We were still a bit dissatisfied with overall sound quality and were considering an actual sound system. The sales rep at best buy mentioned this product to us and we have never looked back. The sound quality is absolutely excellent for both cinema and music. It sounds like we have multiple speakers throughout the living room with just one bar. No distortion at higher volume and very sufficient volume at that. LOVE This sound bar system.

Bought this sound bar when I bought my tv as it was 300 hundred dollars off as a bundle deal. I would say that the bar is just ok. I mean it sounds good and has good bass but I have yet to experience a moment where I can tell a drastic difference between listening to Dolby Atmos or DTS content while watching movies. I would not pay the full price for this sound bar but feel 300 bucks off makes it somewhat more acceptable. Would only recommend if you are getting a deal.

Great sound, sub woofer has the correct amount of bass. This sound bar really compliments my LG OLED TV, both with Dolby ATMOS.

Discounted with tv purchase. Great sound, supports Atmos, easy setup. Would just like the option of wireless rear speakers. Otherwise perfect

This sound bar was a great deal with the purchase of our LG 65" OLED 4K Ultra HD TV and so glad we got it. It has done wonders for our vaulted family room...works great and glad we did not go all out and get more speakers. This with the subwoofer is plenty in our family room and doesn't take up a lot of room either. Love that it has bluetooth as it's so easy to stream our Amazon Prime music through it. It sounds like a full stereo system...not as good as the Sony top of the line but also not as expensive, but still great sound!

The sound box has outstanding sound with a separate woofer unit. Its is easy to set up and interfaces readily with a LCD smart TV.

We put this in our basement and I just love how full the sounds is coming from the bar! Strong sub woofer, easy setup!

I bought this being hesitant due to the price tag on it and seeing as Dolby Atmos is still not mainstream. The soundbar surprised me... while not being perfect (over the head sound isn’t really noticeable at least with what I’ve seen), the sound produced from this bar is phenomenal for a square or rectangular shaped room. The bass can get pretty shaky at points but it really makes you feel immersed in the what you’re watching or playing. Get it if you have the cash.

Purchased this particular unit after lots of reviewing and comparison to other top end brands. Not only was it half the cost of other high end sound bars with subwoofer addons, but also boasted the Dolby Atmos capabilities most others did not. Setup was mostly easy. Started with an HDMI pass through from devices to receiver to sound bar then to TV. I kept getting issues where my receiver and sound bar would randomly shut off while watching shows, and always at the same spots. Most likely an issue with so many pass throughs, as once I switched to the optical cable connection from my TV, worked perfectly. Highly recommend turning on the “auto volume” function. I found I needed to set it at 30+ (max is 40) to hear dialogue. Once I turned that on, I can set it to 12 and the balance between voice and effects is perfect, and it helps accentuate the surround capabilities, which are surprisingly good without additional rear speakers. I will eventually add the wireless speakers for rear sound. But even without, this bar is amazing to use!

Very good soundbar. The sound is great. You can feel it. Crisp and clear. The base is awesome. Very easy to use.
