Q: Can wireless rear speakers be added to the lg sj9 sound bar system?
A: Not sure who this is from "LG", but the LG Music Flow P5 & P7 speakers will not work. Trust me, I purchased both based on this recommendation. Apparently only the "H" series will. The SJ9 is still a great soundbar, but apparently someone needs to update his/her knowledge of their product line before they give customers inaccurate information. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Q: Does the digital optical port support Dolby Atmos? I would rather not use ARC if possible
A: No, there is not enough bandwidth for atmos through optical. ARC was a main reason I returned the unit I bought. It was having issues with my LG OLED. Go figure.
Q: can I add more speakers to my lg sj9
A: Yes you can use LG H3, H5, H7, and other LG MusicFlow wireless speakers. I have two H7 wirelessly connected to my SJ9 as rears and it sounds great!
A: Yes, this is normal. The Sound setting are for the TVs “Internal” audio processing. With ARC, the Volume is now being controlled by the soundbar not the TV. ^AC
Q: Would this Soundbar be overkill for a 1BR apartment?
A: we have this bar and use it in a open living room kitchen concept it fills our room with great sound but it has night mode to quiet it down keeping the volume down also would help just depends on the size of your living room it`s a great sound bar...
Q: Will this soundbar receive a firmware update adding support for DTS-X?
A: Regrettably, we currently do not have any information on whether or not the LG 5.1.2 ch High Resolution Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos, Model # SJ9 will receive a firmware update that adds support for DTS-X. LG has not made any announcements with regards to that...^IFV
Q: will this bar pass thru Dolby Vision ?
A: Yeah if you connect your streaming device to HDMI In on the SJ9 but I’d recommend connecting your Dolby Vision device which Im guessing is your Apple 4K TV, plug that into your TV so you dont get lip syncing issues.
Q: Is the display “always on” like the SJ8?
A: When powered on, yes. It dims after a few seconds.
